@0:16 The best you can get is a Nissan "homologation special" with AWD 240+ turbocharged horses. The infamous Nissan Pulsar GTI R. You can scrape by with a Nissan R32 GTS-T, too.
Yes, the Pulsar is one of the best cars in terms of raw power. I do believe the Nissan Silvia S13 (K's 1800cc to be exact) is the best all-rounder, as it can enter the ~197HP Nationals, allowing you to sweep them without buying two cars!
Dude. I laughed when you said you did that endurance race with no pit-stop. That's legend. Fun Fact: I beat the Sunday Cup Tahiti Road going in reverse the whole time using a GT40.
Really cool challenge! I also once tried it but gave up when getting 6th place everywhere But then I tried the cheapest used car challenge and it was actually quite fun!
Once you break past the early grind and buy the stage 1 turbo, it takes off! But yes, being there for an hour or so is frustrating if you aren't prepared. Plus, when you can buy a Starlet for 3K, The 500 is a terrible idea.
Great video! After watching your video, I tried to do this challenge and the title didn't lie, it is absolutely painful 💀 I only managed up to the NA Tuned competition in Autumn Ring, tried several times until I found its way too hard. I have to be at least 2 seconds ahead in the first corners before the opponents catch up in those 2 final fast corners, definitely not easy.
I love your accent paired with the sarcasm. For a 30+ degenerated soul like me and longtime racing games fan, this is top -notch content. The perfect background video for rolling a joint and then watching the rest while smoking it. When the video ends usually I fire it up AMS2, really relaxed by the acid humor and the weed. Thanks a lot for the content. As a broke fellow south american (Brasil), I can't support with nothing more than the usual like/share/comment bag for now. Fuck football by the way.
The first time when I played this game with my brother when I was 7 years old and didnt know that I can buy used cars in this game.. So we bought the Fiat 500 and didnt unterstood how we can win anything. So we played the long distance races to get money and buy me a faster car, of course always ending in the last place. I used like all my summer to drive this challenge and I understand your pain, my brother
I remember, at my very first playthrough, as a small kid I picked the fiat 500... Then grinded last place races for the cinquecento... I was not a very smart kid xD But I finished the game, somehow eventually xD
I recommend trying to finish soem races in GT3 with the Miata you get from the B License! Was able to win the GT World Championship in Beginner and the 150 of Super Speedway, of course doing very "clean races" ;) Car was fully tuned aswell, was pretty fun aswell! Still mad about it that I lost my stream of the endurance race. Nonetheless, brilliant video! Will definitely try this out and mention this channel to my friends!
Yeah, the NB Miata is a really solid car in GT3 and I'm curious to try it out. I do want to play more GT3, after all. I do appreciate your words though! Glad you enjoyed this challenge.
Great video! It would be cool for you to continue this playthrough, since you've hit a wall you'll now have to purchase the 2nd slowest car in the game, until you hit a wall, then the 3rd slowest, and so on. Figure out which car is a minimum requirement to continue, or complete the game.
The thing is, there's many cars which can be considered under those descriptions. I wanted to push the 500 as far as it would go, but a 2-car playthrough of GT2 is possible. I think, depends how much you want to complete.
There is one version of the Nissan GT-R that if you fully upgrade the engine, racing modify it, take off all the downforce, and max out the gear ratios, you can actually get it to go over 300MPH. The problem is, that first gear is so long and the turbo lag is so bad, it won't move off the line in first. You have to put the car in reverse, max the speed, then do a handbrake 180 turn, slam the car into first gear, and then it starts to take off like a rocket. The other issue is that you can't really get it to turn that well. I managed to do this at the speed ring. I don't recall which version of the GT-R it is, only that the racing modification pain job is bright green and white.
HP always made GT2 suitable for low range car challenges and Compact/Kei & more cars are interesting to upgrade. Good challenge run. Music at early half? The drums/light sounding one.
My first Gran Turismo game I ever got recently was Gran Turismo 3. And for my first Gran Turismo experience, the game is fun. It's a racing game made for people who just want to relax and have a good time. If there is one thing that makes me frustrated about Gran Turismo 3 are definetly the license tests. Seriously, those events really test your patience and sanity. Especially if you are aiming for a Gold medal/trophy for each one, which is almost impossible since the damn timer itself is unfair AF. But regular race events are fun, but it depends if you have a car fast enough. Some races I had to restart since I didn't upgrade my car for some of the Beginners League races, because I didn't have enough money to buy good upgrades for my Mazda MX-5 (J).
Gold license tests are supposed to be a challenge, that is why the times are so tight. One can get bronze and have the license anyway, but of course you miss on the prize cars. Still, it's nice to see people getting into these games to this day!
@@YellowbirdYT I mostly bought the game out of curiosity, since I never played a Gran Turismo game even when I had the PS2, since I was more invested in the old NFS games like Underground 2 & Most Wanted 2005. What I did when I started was to buy the Toyota Infini III which has Turbo at stock and then maxed out and believe or not, you can win on the Tuned races on the Test Course even against the dragster for its flaw on the turns and even win the dragster there. Also is compatible with many races but may not always win, is then one does the race to get the speed 12 and sell it and throw the money briefcase a the Suzuki Dealership to buy the Escudo 🤣 amd then farm credit with the speed 12 over and over.
@YellowbirdYT I reach every car on mid lap 2 with my initial car maxed and without releasing the gas and slingshot my way across, but when one earns it one has to put super soft on front to have a bit more turning grip and rise the gear settings to almost full like 23 or 24.
I didn't see it in the video, but did you ever get racing tires and suspension? The tires can help your acceleration and help you keep your speed in the corners ever better. Combine that with a suspension layout that keeps the car more stable in corners so you don't spin your wheels and you can probably get a bit more out of that car.
This fiat reminds me of a Toyota 4Runner my parent gave me in high school it was so slow I could outrun the 4Runner. It had this horrible 4 cylinder with these giant junkyard rims someone put on it.

The gearing in this game is totally wrong, it's even longer than the original fiat 500R. I 30km/h II 50km/h III 80km/h IV 110km/h (it can go faster in this gear, but over revving. Max revs of this engine shouldn't go above 5200 rpms, unless it has been tuned)
with the racing modification I think you could have completed the GT league national events, also you can increase the downforce when you have it making it even faster on corners.
After watching the first few seconds of your video I decided to try it first only on an actual PS1 console and I’ve managed to fully upgrade the car etc with grinding but my car drives way worse than yours and it definitely slower
There are some differences thanks to framerates, GT2 runs at a really slow framerate in original hardware while I'm running at 60FPS thanks to emulation. Cars do handle a bit different with higher FPS, which is why it probably feels worse for you.
@@YellowbirdYT my Fiat bounces like crazy while cornering on any even slightly banked corner and the car is really skittish do you think suspension settings maybe? I did my challenge a little different I tried to win a race with no turbo first which after days of grinding to get to 26hp I did just manage to do before I fitted the turbo.
Costs, really. A turbo kit is 4k. Given the Kei-car race at rome short gives you a prize car which can be sold for 2k, if you can achieve consistent wins, it doesn't take long to afford more upgrades.
How about starting with a Vitz on GT3? There's a Pro cup involving them and it's surprisingly not an awful choice. I also tried the Trueno but true to form it drifts like crazy.

@@YellowbirdYT I kept grinding with for a month 😂 the I bought a white MK3 Supra and the rest is history. In recent time I did all the golds in Special Licence and 100% it. GT2 was my start as a petrolhead 🤗
This is a joke video, but as a kid, I legit bought this car when playing GT2 for the first time because I didn't realize used cars were the way to go, and couldn't find anything else for less than 10k lol
Can you attempt to use the used car instead and see if you can win all the races with it? I'm interested in knowing which one you would select, as there are a few options available.
@@YellowbirdYT i wouldn't be so sure about its simplicity, because racing with 691hp racing cars might not be as simple as you think ☺ or a challenge with used car, but without horsepower upgrade - just only tires, brakes, suspension, lightweight and racing modification. Plenty of variety.
@@YellowbirdYT im still baffled about NA cars being able to use turbos but no coolant installation which is dangerous in real life🙄 Also, i wonder what will happen if stage 3 and 4 turbochargers were allowed on the little 500 🤔

Nice Video, I will try this challenge myself in the future but I want to ask about your emulator configuration because it looks killer smooth, how can I emulate that or perhaps you can give us a video showing us this configuration?!!
Literally my first run when i was 7! ❤😂
Oh man, you were up for a tough start! Did you start fresh or kept grinding with it?
@@YellowbirdYT I kept grinding with for a month 😂 the I bought a white MK3 Supra and the rest is history. In recent time I did all the golds in Special Licence and 100% it. GT2 was my start as a petrolhead 🤗
I shall name him Mario
Like beating Most Wanted with the Punto.
Kind of, even if that seems easier at times. The Punto really struggles with patrol cars, however.
GT2 in widescreen and 60fps just looks wrong
It looked weird for me at first too, but once you get used to it. You won't go back.
peak of technology frfr
Who needs crash safety when you can have a stylish meatball which can't break past 60.
Miss this game
Understandable, still. We can keep playing it! Kind of why I like to bring these games to the channel.
Italians have entered the chat
And they proceed to write messages at an atrocious pace.
This is a joke video, but as a kid, I legit bought this car when playing GT2 for the first time because I didn't realize used cars were the way to go, and couldn't find anything else for less than 10k lol
Ouch, that is harsh.
If only you could swap a suzuki turbo Hyabusa or a turbo- Ducatti motor and wide body the eff outa it.
Totally. Now that would be a fun little FIAT.
Ahora haz el reto con el midget II Esta a la misma altura con el Fiat aunque el midget II es un poco más rápido
Algun dia!
Why this vid didn't blow up ❤
Aw, thanks! I'm glad you liked it!
Huh.. It looks good and runs even better, which software are you playing on?
Duckstation! There are a few tutorials on how to set it up for GT2, along with a few codes made by Silent. It's rather simple to do, really.
@Yellowbird Awesome, thank you :) I usually play on PCSX2 or ePSXe and I've never had it run so smooth or so pretty
500r vs Subaru 360 💀
The 360 is worse, if I recall. But that's a cursed and near endless race for you.
With all the blocking with slow cars, did you play Enthusia by chance?
I have! It's not my favorite game, but I did.
Can you attempt to use the used car instead and see if you can win all the races with it? I'm interested in knowing which one you would select, as there are a few options available.
Thing is, that is rather simple as I can think of a lot of cars which are pretty good with a few extra parts. Still, I'll consider it!
Even in GT2, italian cars are a scam
There are some nice ones, actually. But yes this is a total beginner's trap.
@@YellowbirdYT im still baffled about NA cars being able to use turbos but no coolant installation which is dangerous in real life🙄
Also, i wonder what will happen if stage 3 and 4 turbochargers were allowed on the little 500 🤔
@@AnthroGearhead Forza builds in GT, nice.
@@YellowbirdYT nah i dont want a Fiat 500 in Forza, but i accept the modern Fiat 500 since its bigger and safer
Honestly, in gt2 can you do that with a fuat 500r because you definately cant in gt4 ive kinda tried
Good to know, that's why I didn't tried it in GT4.
i wonder how far you could get if you use the midget II instead :P
Oh god, I'm not too sure neither.
What emulator are you using? When i use duckstation and its widescreen hack, it works but there is a ton of missing polygons on the right and left edges of the screen. I'm playing the NTSC version and i assume youre playing the PAL version?
I'm using Duckstation, there are guides online on how to set it up for GT2.
@@YellowbirdYT wow I had no idea how many patches are available for this game! Thank you so much this is awesome, my favorite game all time just got even better!
@@MC-bh8ph You're welcome, glad you figured it out!
cute cherry 🍒 doing stuff while pretending to be a car 🚗
0-100km/h: happen
0-100 is hopeful thinking, of course.
Can you do something like this in GT4?
GT4 is a bit tricky thanks to event restrictions, meaning there's a few roadblocks for solo-runs.
figh-hon-red!!!!!!!
reconozco un acento argentino cuando lo escucho jajaj
El mundo es pequeño.
Now play GT3 using only the Mini Cooper
We'll have to see how far that one gets.
P U L S A R _ G T I - R
Well, yes, the Pulsar is a really solid starter actually.
Try with Daihatsu Midget xd
El pobre Fiat es mediocre hasta en el principio del juego la verdad mis respetos
Por suerte llego a ganar una carrera de resistencia, se redimió.
Beating all the game with the worst station wagon?
Interesting, most of them are okay-ish. But the fact many don't have a racing modification will limit them, I'll have to see how it goes.
Lionel Mezsi
I'll totally win some sort of world cup one day. Yes, totally.
Mr Bean%
Maybe a Mini one day, maybe.
