The amount of people suggesting Fuma Ninja is better than Master of Illusion (Flying Kato) is disgusting. They're not even in the same ballpark, Master of Illusion 10,000% shits in Fuma Ninja's mouth. It's like comparing a kiddie pool to a full blown water park.
Lol....mix flying kato with igo head to get both 52 ninjitsu bonus with that magamata accessory where it lessens equiptment by 1. My dude is unstoppable.
@@seankraker swift hawk, hanzo spear, matatasa helmet, Kato chest, iga gloves, Kato pants, kato boots, a black fan, the yasakani & remember the thrust dmg from the spear (a passive skill but need the spear to be main weapon) & have ninjutsu power, Shuriken & Kunai dmg & untouched ninjutsu in every single armor piece & accessory... you'll become a throwing dmg god. Matatasa helmet is for 90% running speed when killing enemies. So you can use whatever helmet you want. The increased damage on the spear is historically correct on the iga set because Hattori Hanzo, head of the clan, was a samurai really good with the spear.
I know it's a year old but having a lot of fun with this build and your walkthroughs. Tip for farming Umbrella ribs for crafting you can do the 'A way out' mission region 3 near the last shrine. Theres 2 X umbrella yokai close you can pop speedrun scrolls melt them with kunai and drop kill. Soul cores drop often which you can dispose of in resting rites and get umbrella ribs from there as well as the occasional drop from the umbrella yokai themselves.
The resting rites don’t seem to work for me for farming the umbrella ribs. I’ve probably turned in 30 and haven’t gotten one yet. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for this mate! This build is the Schnizzle! I’m having a lot of fun with it! And for anyone just starting out on it, any bombs that you pick up really early, equip them and start hurling them at the first enemies you come across. That will give you your first ninja point really quickly. Then you can get the shuriken skill straight away and get the ball rolling. :-)
wow that flying kato set is sick! Glad to know kunai remains op in ng+. just small thing: power pill unfortunately doesn't effect kunai dmg so if going full kunai, you can ditch it for something like tiger running or more feather slots 👍
Really? That's shitty. Might as well pick up more flaming heron feathers then. On the power pill note do you know if it interacts with Summer Twilight? Was trying to use both in the dojo and I'm pretty sure they overwrite each other.
@@PWARGaming actually no, there are same icons for certain effects. I run a melee build, and can get three damage increase icons at once. Dual sword low skill has you dodge at the right time to increase damage. Power pill or carnage talismans, and increase damage from amrita absorption. All three have the same icon but only power pill and carnage talisman overlap as far as I know
The first of your builds i tried for myself, and the build i chose to run through the DLC with. Thank you for that. It made an otherwise boring DLC fun.
You could actually put on half of the Flying Kato set, and half of the Iga Ninja set to get both Ninjutsu bonuses from the set bonus pages, they both only require 3 pieces, and the sword is already one so there is that. 3-3 pieces gets you 100 free ninjutsu strength.
Kunai benefits from rule of thrusting and attack from behind so having a sword or spear equipped with thrusting damage and attack from behind damage (ranged weapons can also get attack from behind damage) will increase your Kunai damage significantly. Also would be nice to mention clans, what clans to use. I believe there is a clan that adds +40 ninjutsu power.
Correct. However, there are 2 clans which could be benefit the build. 1 is indeed with + ninjutsu power, the other one is thrust dmg boost. Still figuring out which combination gives the best
Bro thank you so much! i had no general idea of what to do to start making a ninja set and this just answered my questions, gonna focus on the fuma ninja set early on and blast shurikens to get ninja points!
Almost completely finished min/maxing my Divine Flying Kato gear. All my gear is 160(+4) and almost all of them have 7 different stats on them. 14:22 In the first Nioh, it was an upgrade at the blacksmith to get more shortcuts. I never knew you could change yourself at any moment! xD thank you so much!
I've been using the final boss's core ability instead of the snake. I don't even need to use any kunai on some bosses, just weakness + yokai ability = done. Although it varies a lot because it can miss on smaller bosses, but I still love it. Especially with how ridiculously fast ninjutsu charges anima, you can practically spam the yokai ability.
I fuckin applaud u sir. When u were talking about the weapons and armor set bonuses and u didn’t mess up one word and they were some tongue twisting Japanese words bro. Damn good brother.
actually once you reach end game, trying to get yasakani magatama accessory, then run 4 piece of flying kato and 2 piece of iga is better, with the help of that accessory, you can trigger 5 effect of flying kato, the 6th once is not important since it's not increase your throwing weapon damage, and 2 piece of iga will trigger extra +58 ninjutsu power and you don't need to stick with writing set accessory for other slot, just anything with untouch ninjutsu is fine, other opt like kunai & shuriken damage or ninjutsu power can be easy to temper into accessory, but for some weird reason, you cannot temper untouch ninjutsu into accs, they only appear in the one that drop from monster
The first time I played this game I was really struggling and only got to the 3rd chapter and stoped playing for awhile and came back to the game and this guide really help me out I'm now half ways done great game once you get the hang of it 👍👍
Get to NG and then you go to the Abduction mission. It is the same level as Pervading Waters. You enter and go to the center where there are two Gakis and a baby cyclops. Kill them but keep them contained in the room. Loot the corpse they were around. If it drops what you want pick it up. If it doesn't go back to the shrine and reload kill them again and loot corpse. This time pick up whatever it drops then Divine Branch. Go back in and make sure you have Divine Branches. This is how you farm a Yasakani as well without having to beat the game.
Ryan no it changes I haven’t found a writing set this way. I have found everything else but Yasakani and Writing sets. I finally just beat Ninja Veteran on NG and got a writing set. I am moving my Ninja build over to a spear sort of build anyways so it is fine. Probably just beat the game soon to get a Yasakani.
The best thing about being a ninja in this game is you're pretty much also a wizard. Also get the three element ninjutsu and the final bosses yokai skill, and you can storm any enemy with countless spell attacks, which are so good against enemies that block a lot. Also with nekomata, i really suggest switching the final boss soul core to Feral type. You can do that with Feral type cores that drop from human-type bosses. This activates the +20% damage from Nekomata and the Yokai skill of saving Anima when using the same type soul core skills, and this skill alone melts even NG+ bosses.
Like Nioh thrusting damage effects kunai damage as well as certain damage bouns on ranged weapons. So you would like to use a spear(You can increase thrusting damage with passive skills when using spear) with thrusting damage bonus as melee weapon and any ranged weapon with damage bonus less armor when throwing kunai.
I don’t have a PS4, and nioh comes out on PC only I’m November 😞 fml Buuuut, I’m gonna watch every nioh 2 video you put out, just like I had for nioh .. love your content man!

Can’t wait to see onmyo build. I’m doing that now and I’m still beginning of game really bc I been working in customer service so trying to not to get sick. Can’t wait to put hours Wednesday and Thursday. So I’m still figuring out what to use. Leech is good but drops off fast
I've created a lightning omnyo build with a side of fire and posion. Omyno starts off slow compared to ninja, but gets darn OP. Let's just say, I don't hit with my weapon on bosses anymore XD
15:53 by the time you started attacking, the weakness debuff effect was already gone.. this is why I hate nerfing stuff in games, weakness and sloth spells are pretty much useless.
Damn CB you're a beast... nice shredded gazuki right there... can't wait for the onmyo/SG build! Btw ty for telling me hatchets are good... they are crazy to do ki dmg to the enemy.
So I put together a Tadakatsu build really quickly going into NG+ and its REALLY strong. I can stand and bang with bosses for a pretty decent time and I deal a good amount of damage while doing so. Its just full WOTE set. I like the ninja build tho i may give it a try
I’m at the 3rd region. I’m taking my sweet time with this, doing all the side missions and exploring everything in the region before moving on to the next. Most TH-cam channels either rush through the main campaign or get an early copy (TK call me o:)
Late comment but another weapon option is the kiku ichimonji. Shuriken and kunai get thrust damage bonus. This katana has 6% thrust damage on it and rule of thrusting katan passive is another 6%.
I keep fighting dude with flying kato set but never get a ninjitsu bonus or throwing bonus on the gear so my other gear with that bonus gets a bigger hit then the whole kato set.
I actually just made a new character last night and am going for a Ninjutsu build cause it looked great from the walkthroughs I’ve been watching. I was going to do a magic build but there aren’t many of them out yet and I just really like the Kusarigama.
I've been using fuma since the beginning and so far so good. I'm stuck now though on the one really big boss where you have to break it's hands and run up them.ay have to change builds for this guy lol. Great channel btw. I use your guids on almost every game I play
I was trying to use Tonfa against that guy, too much movement involved with the moveset though. Switched to kusarigama and spammed blade spin and it worked really well.
Outstanding video, Cowboy! 1) Now... how did you _really_ get those near perfect writing sets?! o.O How do you farm for those? Or there's a way to just temper them? 2) Divine gear!!! nice! Can you confirm that's NG+1? If yes, then a PA should be sent: "people, go straight up for NG+ and then the builds really begin". How about Ethereal gear? Do they appear on NG+? Also, there are many questions that you could maybe clarify in other videos: 3) Are the stats of secondary melee and secondary ranged active at all times? Even when you have the other weapon selected? 4) What is the contribution of the 2nd Spirit Guardian when it is not selected as main? 5) does "Thrust damage" affect Kunai dmg? 6) Does "Increase ranged damage" affect Kunai and Shuriken? 7) Ninjutsu Power vs. Shuriken and Kunai dmg. Shur and Kunai dmg are higher, usually, but how are the poison and flame DOTs affected by Ninjustu Power? =) Keep on rocking and posting these very much needed videos! =)))
1) Temper 2) NG,+, etheral is probably Wise and higher 3) only "active" weapon bonuses apply except set bonuses 4) the inheritable icon applies (it's the guardian spirit icon next to 1 stat) 5) yes 6) no 7) not sure
Hey Cowboy, you think this build can work on a 300 Character with Dual Swords as Main Weapon? I really don't like playing with Kusarigama but this is still the only build of yours I never got around to play. Keep rocking ^^
Yaroka Water in shadow arts has been lasting WAY longer than weakness talisman for me. Best to nail something with it either right off the bad, the range is good, or wait for the to miss or to engage and attack an ally. Tested on Formal Match Obsidian Warrior dude and weakness talisman lasted a few seconds compared to Yaroka Water which lasted at least as long as it took me to empty my supply of throwing weapons into him and kill him. (which obviously isn't very long with this build, but still it lasted much longer than weakness talisman)
You may want to go switchglaive for a magic build. The switchglaive scales directly with magic, so you can increase both your weapon damage and magic abilities without splitting up points.
Really struggling to get untouched ninjustu up to anywhere near 50%... Am I doing something wrong? Ive tried tempering my Kato armor over 200 times and have only gotten it on 2 pieces of armor.
@Salar Mizere yeah I believe so. I heard somewhere you can get it on the waist guard but after rolling a bunch it hasn't come up. I have untouched on my 2 pieces of armor and 2 accessories but that still only nets me around 35% so I don't get how I'm supposed to get it up to 50?

@FlyingCowboy
I also suggest using the Pinwhell Shuriken, they can pierce foes and it returns to you like a boomerang, *doesn't regain a use tho*
Will this work for an end game build?
Great guide. Writing sets are a solid choice but you can’t temper untouched ninjutsu on them.
I have ninjutsu power, untouched ninjutsu, shuriken/kunai dmg & life drain AAA+ in a black fan, so fans are better
Thanks for the advice, now let the melting begin!
A Castlevania Nioh like game sounds dope. You should make a Belmont build.
Yea hatchets surprised me and is my best weapon atm
You can also run agility dmg bonus A on the rifle (in primary slot) for increased overall dmg. Test it out. Worked in nioh 1.
Yup, just waiting till I get a full divine set before going ham on all the tempering.
@@FightinCowboy cool, thanks for the entertaining/insightful video's. Keep up the Grind 👊
i really like how they've made a lot more builds viable in this compared to nioh 1. great video cowboy
New game and ng+ you could play anything you wanted in nioh as well. Only in the later difficulties did the builds get strict
@@ericniesen9361 yeah but stuff like ninjitsu builds weren't as viable as full playstyles like they are in this game and there's more variety
@John Bennett exactly. Kunai was possibly the strongest way to play last game other than iai spam
"die within one to two hits"
thats about the norm in this game anyway
So I put together a Tadakatsu build really quickly going into NG+ and its REALLY strong. I can stand and bang with bosses for a pretty decent time and I deal a good amount of damage while doing so. Its just full WOTE set. I like the ninja build tho i may give it a try
How the hell is he that far done. I’m only in the second region
That's his job lol.
I’m at the 3rd region. I’m taking my sweet time with this, doing all the side missions and exploring everything in the region before moving on to the next. Most TH-cam channels either rush through the main campaign or get an early copy (TK call me o:)
TakiGames im at 5th Region doing all missions killing every monster lel
He is a kusarigama and a ninjutsu abuser. I switched to it yesterday myself.
me 2🤔😂
wait a minute, just how tf did that yoki missed his point blank slash at 15:09 ?
can anyone explain to me?
Late comment but another weapon option is the kiku ichimonji. Shuriken and kunai get thrust damage bonus. This katana has 6% thrust damage on it and rule of thrusting katan passive is another 6%.
Ty great video keep at it 👍😷
I keep fighting dude with flying kato set but never get a ninjitsu bonus or throwing bonus on the gear so my other gear with that bonus gets a bigger hit then the whole kato set.
You can change the bonuses on gear...
@@FightinCowboy can all armor have throwing kunai damage and ninjutsu bonus and unused ninjitsu on each head, chest, legs.....?
If you use inheritables yes
@@FightinCowboy in nioh 1 i had throwing x 2 on all gear...i rarely see anything inheritable in nioh 2.
Excellent build.. 👏🏾👏🏾
Storm Kunai + Fire Ninjutsu will take care of him.
I was trying to use Tonfa against that guy, too much movement involved with the moveset though. Switched to kusarigama and spammed blade spin and it worked really well.
Got him down. I actually feel bad I couldn't beat him before he's pretty basic really. I just wasn't sure how before
Outstanding video, Cowboy!
1) Now... how did you _really_ get those near perfect writing sets?! o.O
How do you farm for those?
Or there's a way to just temper them?
2) Divine gear!!! nice! Can you confirm that's NG+1?
If yes, then a PA should be sent: "people, go straight up for NG+ and then the builds really begin".
How about Ethereal gear? Do they appear on NG+?
Also, there are many questions that you could maybe clarify in other videos:
3) Are the stats of secondary melee and secondary ranged active at all times? Even when you have the other weapon selected?
4) What is the contribution of the 2nd Spirit Guardian when it is not selected as main?
5) does "Thrust damage" affect Kunai dmg?
6) Does "Increase ranged damage" affect Kunai and Shuriken?
7) Ninjutsu Power vs. Shuriken and Kunai dmg. Shur and Kunai dmg are higher, usually, but how are the poison and flame DOTs affected by Ninjustu Power?
=)
Keep on rocking and posting these very much needed videos! =)))
1) Temper
2) NG,+, etheral is probably Wise and higher
3) only "active" weapon bonuses apply except set bonuses
4) the inheritable icon applies (it's the guardian spirit icon next to 1 stat)
5) yes
6) no
7) not sure
@@FightinCowboy Thank you very much for taking the time to answer! =)))
Where can i find writing sets im in region 4 still Havent found them
Hey Cowboy, you think this build can work on a 300 Character with Dual Swords as Main Weapon? I really don't like playing with Kusarigama but this is still the only build of yours I never got around to play. Keep rocking ^^
yes
the main thing here is using kunai
so just use any weapon u like
but kusa will have the highest dmg because of the dexterity
Just want to thank you for this... I have a blast with it.. I added magicka to mine feel like sasuke lol
I’m not sure if you can temper thrust damage onto your sword but if you can go for it since that also increases kunai damage
I'm going a spear and ninjutsu build, I may try a spear magic build to see which is more effective. The build I have at the moment is awesome.
You may want to go switchglaive for a magic build. The switchglaive scales directly with magic, so you can increase both your weapon damage and magic abilities without splitting up points.
Awesome. Will you make more build videos? Im a big fan of odachi, so if you need an idea
Started to play on ps5 today. Is this build still viable nowadays???
I just watched this cowboy melt a boss in like 5 seconds with a ninja
