I had my ranged weapons buffs mixed up. You'll want Agility Bonus or Equipment Weight bonus (which I haven't seen yet outside of Tatenashi). These apply to melee, but familiarity only applies to the weapon it is on.
Also as a few folks have pointed out you could run specific clans to boost this damage even further, Todo for example provides a damage boost to thick boys. That being said I typically stick with the Luck clan simply because loot is life and I want as many drops as possible.
Which stats would you recommend to increase first?
@FightinCowboy hey man, which one is better for dual swords, poison or paralysis build? Wanna hear your opinion, since I think poison is better cuz we can continuosly damaged poisoned enemies, rather than only strike once on paralyzed enemies

When he started the fight against the suicide bomb guy I was like ohh that's a lot of damage and then the fight progressed and I was like 0.0 NOW THATS ALOTTA DAMAGE.

i repeat that mission is bugged even with my naked character mezuki and guzuki doesnt do much damage ..they both are bugged to do less damage in Refined Man of the Underworld Mission

Exactly the same nothing changes I did a ninja in nioh 1 and now nioh 2 it really is unfair and makes farming easy

I would really like to thank you for this build and for all the explanations regarding leveling. I struggled through Nioh and the first round of Nioh 2, the latter with an odachi. NG+ with your dual sword set up has actually been...fun? Sekiro (finished twice) and the Niohs have been a grind, and short of fun, but with this rig I do a lot less dying, speed through missions and seem to be actually useful to other players. Thanks Cowboy.

man get health on amirta for chest + the teahouse clan w/ the same bonus. You'll be getting ~60 hp per each amirta. Combine that with the Onmyo extraction talisman and w/ that build you literally could just swing wildly into 2021.

dude could you do like a hatchet build? Im trying a poison one right now for myself and its not bad honestly im just find a lack of hatchet builds , itd just be nice to see others take on it.
For instance Ive been using dragon fly skill with aspect of serpents to get poison up and give me some breathing room as opposed to using the chain hurl to stack ailments/elemental effects(something Ive seen spoken about in what few threads ive poked around in) something just appeals to me putting goons in the hatchet blender

I can't wait to see what you do with onmyo. The armor you get from the final onmyo dojo mission makes it so you apply weakness with any spell you cast on the enemy.
I have similar build but the difference beside A master swordsman power set bonuses, I use 3 pieces the Crossed Sickles set bonus (Atagi Sadmune sword as the second weapon, one Kingo armor, + Yasakini. It will give +164 life and 10% increase in Final Blow Damage. I still don't understand how your Bamboo cutter has 1734 attack, while I have higher stats and I'm 1634? FYI, I did remodel but still lower stats than yours. Where did you get the 100 extra attack?
Awesome build, how about a build early in the game. I'm around 90, and finding it hard to keep morning forward. Tkx keep up the great content
Firm resolve with low stance quick attacks. Use Sign of the cross after a moonshadow or Dual Dragon attack. Firm resolve with low stance quick attack, get your stacks asap making you close to immune to damage in NG+. My weapon is Ichigo Hitofuri with double elemental, lightning plus Fire. This weapon is incredibly good. spam low quick attacks with Dual Dragon to often get behind enemies and then pop sign of the cross. Vs Humans, you dont need paralyzing effects, slap on massive of fast quick attacks and be ready to perform a moon shadow after they block. Their ki will drop in seconds so you perform an execute. If not, just Dual Dragon into their back and Sign of the Cross spam. Each to their own but to new players: The 100% Tank in Nioh 2 IS Dual Swords. Thats it. Firm Resolve is that good, its busted. If you run heavy armor and especially use fast quick attacks with elemental dmg and lightning. You get max stacks immediately for even more damage mitigation. Slap on life drain low attacks, which btw also works on sign of the cross from low stance, which also deals as much dmg in low stance as high stance. Dual Swords its low stance all the way if you want to become a true elemental applying, life draining, tank from hell that also have absurd burst through sign of the cross. Its also alot easier to get Moon Shadow attacks in from low stance since your fast attacks eventually will eat atleast 1 block from human opponents. Its incredibly important however if your a low stance spammer like me, to have elemental weapons. Either through talismans or on the weapon, lightning is still by far the best as its a free sloth mechanic. Reason is alot of your damage is from elemental effects apart from sign of the cross and dual dragon. For bosses in general. You can just hold down sign of the cross with barrier, pop a rejuvenation scroll and barrier and just perma spam sign of the cross until the boss is dead. Firm resolve plus no ki issues and rejuvenation and preferably life drain on weapon means you probably dont need a single pot during most boss fights just spaming sign of the cross.
Hey, Cowboy. Could you provide a guide on armor/weapon familiarity. I need to pass some inheritable stats, and I'm wondering if you know of an efficient strategy.
Gosh damit... i finished Ng+ almost 100% and i did not know how to applie the extra bonus on the skills...
Just found that you can tap aim (L2) to sheathe instantly. It's easier to do than the animation cancel for me.
BTW Cowboy you are able to inherit attack on all of your armor pieces. I've got it on all my armor and definitely helps with more attack when you can get them.
Yeah it's just a matter of finding gear with attack inheritables

Hey Cowboy longtime fan of your content. I first found you way back when you were making builds on borderlands 2. loving the nioh 2 content and i was wondering why you dont cover what clans you use for your builds? like for this one for example todo would be a big boost to health and damage at 51 stam and A+ stam life bonus scaling from todo you get around 450 health as for damage if you use tatenashi its weight bonus stacks with todo bonus so you can get aa+ weight damage scaling its just over 10k per sword hit on sign of the cross so 20k and then stacking the para bonus from accessories it goes to almost 24 25k then if something is saturated it hits for 30k altogether in a perfect scenario also for your ninja build you would get 40 ninja power at base lvl with the takigawa clan its near the bottom of the clan list which is 4 percent more kunai damage its about 0.5 percent damage per 5 ninja power and thats without any other scaling involved.
Clans are locked across all your characters and since I have multiple saves running I just use the Luck clan with all of them because loot is king

Saw a person in my lobby do 900k or either 90k damage plus 650k/65k side damage with just one sword hit. Wish I was able to see their stats
got to love that nioh 2 builds has no 1shots but there is a soulcore thats op enough to make you kill the bosses in less than 30secs if you're playing solo
Man I can't wait to get a bit further along in this game and actually get some good weapons. I chose Katana and Kusarigama and of course every decent weapon I find is an axe or a long sword.
Hopefully people read this but keep in mind the fact is that this is version 1.00 to 1.02....... the damage he is doing and the damage that he is receiving would not be like this if the patches were up-to-date he would be doing a lot less damage and he would be taken a little bit more damage....... kind of nerfed paralysis and sign of the cross.... although these are great build videos it's just wrong timing and these builds are kind of inaccurate now because of that
Are you using Ultimate Sign of the Cross? Couldn't tell but I didn't see the combat art equipped when you went over skills and I figured you'd go over that skill as well.

I hope you reply, how do you get more uhh... "perks" on your weapon? mine only has 3 (the perks you change with Umbracite)
So you got perks on certain weapons that can be inherited by other weapons (marked by the symbol [] > [] or > [] )
You need to maximize your familiarity with the weapon which has those kind of perks, then when you try to soul match it to your actual main weapon, you will see that the perk will be added to your initial perks on your main weapon.
I'm not that far in the game (chapter 3) and haven't unlocked divine gear so I don't know if they have more perks and if there are other mechanics in the game that can help you customize your perks
Love the builds! Is there a way for me to have different builds saved to switch between or do I have to respec each time when I want to be a ninja vs magic user ?
You unlock the option to save em after the final mission

If I am maining ninja, save the build, then use reincarnation and skills reset, I can save the 2nd build, then freely hop back and forth without anymore skill and stat resets?

Do the mission where you fight Tokichiro. He drops two dual blade skills. One is called Ultimate sign of the cross and the other one turns your blades into darth mauls lighstaber for a fast low stance attack. I'm not shitting you. Best way to farm it is to go to the boss, kill him and if he doesn't drop the skill just close the game and start it up again you'll be at your last visited shrine so you can fight him again and again that way without having to do the whole mission again.
Can the blacksmithing plans for the Master Swordsman's armor be farmed on NG or does it have to be NG+ ? I've run this guy like 50 times with Item Drop on my equipment and nothing.

@@BarcaAlmighty He explains in the video. The dojo mission for dual swords drops the smithing texts for both the set armor and weapon. It's only effected by ITEM drop modifiers though so stack it on your armor if you're farming him. You don't have souls or personal weapons available.
@@Tremulantone Yes thanks, he mentioned better odd to get it in new game plus. I'm still in my first playthrough. Stacked on item drop rates on my pieces of equipment and farming the "Master of Dual Blades" Dojo. No luck so far.

THIS is the build i want, thank you. is there a way to squeeze a normal sword into there? I was thinking dropping a peice of the swordsman armor, replacing it malafactors, and then replacing the malafactors dual sword with a normal sword. Do you have other recommendations for that? I know i will lose the ki burst recovery. What is a good 2 peice set to slip in with the sword?

A better technique to sheathe your weapons quicker is to tap L2 to pull out your ranged weapon and then R1+O

Just out of curiousity, why not just stack poison dmg instead of water? With the snake boss soul + accessories you get 60%+ as with the ninjitsu build. Is it cause the poison dot cancel the paralyze? Thank you, just want to make the best possible build.
Poison damage is weird, I'm still doing testing but it doesn't feel like a true 60% on bosses
I agree on that, i'm using ninjitsu build with 2x iga and 5x kato set and using hanzo's spear as my main weapon. I feel that i should do way more dmg in melee after i poison an enemy, as you say it's weird.

Since you can do a all build creation with one character that's what he decided to do so almost all the builds you see on his playlist for this game was for the one character who did the let's play with and except for the walkthrough prep which I'm pretty sure he did a strength build with a totally brand new character but yeah I hear what you mean you like to see progress in the beginning and see the end progress totally get that but with this you're not going to see most of that from him because all he did was farm for a shitload of stuff and then made his build that way and boom farm for a few hours and you already got a build that essentially would take you almost a whole playthrough to get down that's one good quality of life change that they did in the nioh 2 but it kind of makes it to where you only want to have a one-and-done jack-of-all-trades character that can do it all instead of just making five brand-new characters to do five different builds..... hopefully this helps in a way but that's his mentality I've been following this guy since he's been about forty thousand subscribers strong and he still does this type of stuff in most games you won't see a lot of beginning progress but you will see a lot of endgame progress of the builds in games that he plays

@@FightinCowboy I mostly started my first time on Nioh with this one. So sort of just bumping my way along unsure of builds or any of that. Right now I went spear with mostly Vice-Chancellor stuff on..since I'm virtually clueless and a noob to this sort of stuff.
I am so confused with the endgame Of Nioh 2 right now...how do I get all these sick special effects that you have on all your gear? I know you’re supposed to inherit them from other gear but I’ve never even seen these special effects floating around, let alone with the inheritable symbols...
Or are you even supposed to inherit all of them? Are most of the special effects on your main set of dual blades just from a sick drop you got of them? It’s so confusing as a new player

I just unlocked ng+ and I'm at lvl 113. I want to get this build before I start the ng+ missions. Am I supposed to use this even tho I don't have enough stamina? Or I should just use book of reincarnation and dump points into stamina ? If I use this build my agility is really bad because of equipment weight

Hi, how du u get all the special effects on a weapon? Im always missing 1 or 2 stats.
Hi there, you can get weapons out there with an orange icon, which is a transfer stat. Its extremely rare but what it does is giving that atat to your weapon like an inheritable but it doesnt change that stat. It goves you an extra dtat which you can reroll. Hope this is good a enough answer.

Maybe obvious, but what I do t get is the skill scaling. I know heart is only A-, but wouldn't it be better to remodel to scale with heart so you at least get a bunch of ki out of it?
