- For the Rhythm Harmony djembe drummers, (and djembe drummers everywhere who may enjoy this), here is our rhythm pattern for RHUMBA.

This alternating rhythm is so good for training my well aged brain😀🙏
I think it’s cool that you are in the UK and I’m in the States, and this is the same signature rhythm to the Rumba that I learned back in the late 80s!
However we spell it RUMBA, so that it’s not confused with the rumba RHUMBA, which is a Cuban dance rhythm, and is completely different.

@@suzanneatrhythmharmony4321 thanks for the reply, Suzanne! 😁 Yes, it’s very catchy. And it was always the 2nd drumsong I taught to my beginner djembe students.
Crazy synchronicity... the TH-cam video I’ve been working on this week, is re-editing a full djembe rumba class I videotaped for my students during lockdown in the spring of 2020! It’s much too long for TH-cam, so I’m chunking it down… And I’m hoping to get one chunk published tomorrow.
And the fact that your video showed up in my feed at the top of suggested videos, is awesome. I’m happy for you about that, too, says a lot about the algorithm for us both.

It’s the other way around. “Rhumba” is the Americanized version.
