      I like games that are fun, not ones that have constant 50gb updates adding much nothing, bugs that keep killing You, items that get removed after updates, who cares You spent hours and hours grinding theme etc. It feels like cheap korean mmo, not a space explorasion game. I rather play Elite dangerous or Entropia universe. Elite on good ol NES is more fun than nms curent version :)

    30 hours still learning is so true. I just recently played NMS, and as Destiny 2 player, I fell in love instantly. Im only 70 hours in, and I'm just building impressive bases, and I've only visited 2 galaxies!. I love anything that has space travel and rare environments. Besides RDR2 and Control, this is one of the best games I've ever played. I've literally just recently learned about exo crafts and underwater exploration. W game for real.

  • @bolognatious1684

    I played the game at launch, and never before had I played a game that made me feel more alone or bored lmao. Then I played again when they added the first exocrafts, and vibe still felt off. I gave it some time and just started playing again with the Omega update... The game is now insanely addicting, fun, never feels lonely, beautiful... It's my dream space exploration game by taking these awesome space tropes, and not following the cliche or copying it at all. It's so unique and a dream. The fact that there's like 90 different gameplay loops allows for genuinely limitless playability. Also the combat reworks feel really good, the upgrades and especially space combat are something amazing. The combat still isn't perfect but it genuinely feels like a gameplay aspect now. The fact that I can become a space pirate and experience these massive battles, is incredible considering that they're so fun, and barely 1% of the game.

Just the fact that Hello Games was able to shift NMS from one of the most reviled and hated games in modern gaming history into one of the most popular and beloved sci-fi titles ever is just nothing short of a blessing from the gods.

  • @FlyingFox86
    @FlyingFox86 ปีที่แล้ว +33

    I would somewhat disagree that every planet feels unique. You realize after a while that each planet type has only a few potential looks. You know roughly what shape of rocks/plants to expect when landing on a radioactive planet, for example.
    You also know what to expect in terms of points of interest. They are the same on every planet, with the exception of dead planets and uninhabited systems.
    Don't get me wrong, there is still a large amount of exploring before the planets become repetitive, and even then you can still stumble on something particularly unique.

    • @DarthMohammedRules
      @DarthMohammedRules ปีที่แล้ว +4

      True, for sure. I mean, the land masses and color schemes and environmental hazards and flora/fauna are kinda mixed and shuffled, but essentially, I'd say before you hit 100 hours, you're not gonna see a whole lot of new stuff that's totally unique. There's still a ton of variety, and they do a decent job of mixing and matching, though. And in spite of some very similar stuff, quite a bit of it is really impressive-looking, especially the first time you really start getting into it and exploring. I say all the time, I've never taken so many screenshots in a single game EVER!! They all make REALLY cool desktop backgrounds.

Follow the marker to a ball, pick it up, alert comes up, sprint to my ship, take off, sentinels are shooting at me. First combat experience in the game. I killed two of them, but I didn't know how many waves were coming or if it ever stopped, so I flew into space for the first time and died. now I'm on a space station, I guess.

    I feel like alot of new players are coming tbh I want to make a little post here with a couple money making method for early game. Nothing to crazy op as I don't want spoil the game for you its nice to discover stuff. But heres a couple easy things you can do.
    1. Find a planet with ancient bone burial sites. Get a decent speedy pet and go and collect them. They show up with a gold icon similer to salvaged data. While using the scanner some are worth 1.8 mill most are worth 100k to 250k.
    2. Collect storm Crystal's potentially . From extreme storm planets. If your goner do this also make sure your buying materials from galatic terminals and other aliens. Theres alot of materials you can buy very cheap to save you hassle later :) as it will drain your hazard protection fast. Worth about 250 k each.
    3. Goto a planet with gravinto balls. They will be everywhere and close by. you will likely get attacked by sentinals don't worry just ignore them keep collecting gravtino balls keep running along. After about 20 minutes your goner make about 2.8 million from collecting these easily.
    Build bases at the planets with these sellables. even if there just small outposts. And then you can teleport to those planets with the goal of collecting those items and it's another rewarding gameplay loop. Which adds another kinder mission you can do. Maybe you can search for the oldest fossil worth the most and keep it as treasure. Maybe there are fossils worth more then 1.8 mill I haven't found yet.

    No Man's Sky has actually been in a good place for a while now.
    That being said, players don't spend all that long in it before they have seen "everything".
    There are a limited number of buildings, planets, ships, weapons, and so on.
    Expeditions do a good job of adding enough content for a new run every few months, though.

    • @JD99-zj3gq
      @JD99-zj3gq 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DrewBoivie Yep, and that wouldn't be a problem, if the things you can do would give you a lot of freedom, but you don't have that freedom. Take for example the new update that allows you to build a ship. Well, it's not really "building" when you can only build with like 6 parts, right? On top of that, all the ships will still generally look the same as a result, so there is really no incentive to spend much time on it.
      There is also a lot of stuff added to the game that artificially stretches the length of the game. The fact that you need 5,000 nanites just to buy a new color for your freight is a good example of that.
      But the biggest problem I have with No Man's Sky is the lack of quality of life updates. I've been playing PC games for about 40 years, and I can say an IBM certified interface designer, that this game has one of the worse user interfaces I ever came across for PC users.... by far. I'm not kidding when I say that I could write a book about it. The game itself is quite enjoyably however, but in my opinion it does quickly go stale.

    • @jamespalmer9033
      @jamespalmer9033 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's really interesting - as someone who bounced off NMS at release because it was quintillions of planets wide but the gameplay was as shallow as a teaspoon, it sounds like they've continued to go wider and wider with more different activities and subsystems for players to engage with, but without really adding much more *depth* to the game at any point.
      It kind of looks like that perennial problem with procedurally generated games that it's easy to infinitely generate _content_ , but really hard to generate _meaning_ or _variety_ for any of it... and without meaning and meaningful variety even infinite content quickly gets stale and boring.
      It would be amazing what would be possible if NMS managed to add any kind of emergent narrative to the game, instead of packing the toolbox more and more full of pretty but simplistic and quickly-played-out toys.

    Visually it’s very impressive, in some ways the most arresting PSVR2 title available. They really did properly convert it for VR, and not just keep stick and button inputs.

I"m learning a lot from the Omega expedition - it introduces you to a lot of the key aspects of the game, including some I hadn''t experienced yet. It can be a bit frustrating, but on the whole it's fun. As for exploration, the incentive is the exploration itself - so many different interesting worlds. I found a frothing planet yesterday and acquired a companion in the form of a large colourful bubble that leaks red goo as it floats beside you - very bizarre and also cool. I could wish the base building interface was a bit easier to use but I'm coping with it. Why do you ask - are you wanting to get into it?

    It’s been more than what they promised for years now. This game’s transformation has been nothing short of beautiful and amazing to experience first hand. It’s rare to be rewarded like this for sticking with a game that had a poor launch. Especially one that doesn’t have any microtransactions or monetization/Paid DLC of any kind. And the game is still growing. Hello Games deserves the gaming community’s attention and respect for not only delivering what they had promised but still to this day surpassing the original sales pitches and ads.
    While there is still issues and things that can be improved upon in the game, mainly it’s lack of depth in a lot of it’s core systems and mechanics, the game ultimately is such a joy to play. Very relaxing, fun space exploration with a good storyline and really cool building mechanics. So much to earn and unlock in the game and discover.
    Out of the pure space exploration games I’ve played, this is hands down my favorite. I love this game.

I picked it up recently just because I noticed the cover art had changed and I was blown away by how much more polished it is. I know there is a lot more gameplay & things to do but its was the performance & the beauty of the menu screens that caught my eye. I like that I can look at all my discoveries and find planets that I have discovered ranked by deepest ocean, most beautiful etc. I noticed a breeding system for pets, new cosmetics and an absolute shit ton of stuff.
    I never liked how NPCs looked in this game. I still don't but maybe that is because of my bias towards a certain style of space game, but No Man's sky is certainly unique and has a unique charm and as ugly as the NPC and races are, they certainly have lore and everything which makes them interesting.

    "googling how to make stuff" is anything but a selling point for me. I loathe the fact that many games require me to go out of the game to understand how to play it.

    Finally downloaded it from xbox few days ago. First time ever playing it, definitely unique little game. Seems smooth enough especially for Xbox one
