    You don't need tu cut the leaves, because during dormancy the bulb nourishes from them

    Never chop the bulb like that, leave the leafs on and the the build absorb the nutrients back.

      Cynthia Carbone can you message me? I’m an avid hybridizer and have a very large amaryllis collection. I’m looking for someone in Australia to help me obtain more of the Maguire family bulbs. I’m willing to trade plants or pay for them. I’ll teach you anything you want to know about amaryllis.

      @@rosyjobya I’m always lookin for more Maguire bulbs, but they closed the farm in 2017. The couple who bought the new property sold them for a couple of years, but don’t do so anymore unfortunately. Most people in Australia these days are trading with one another to get a larger collection.

    If I cut a bulb open; will it still bloom?

    • @zacharykenniston748
      @zacharykenniston748 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No it’ll be dead. If you trim the tip it will survive as long as it’s not infected. But cutting it in half is like chopping and animals head off. Exception Is it may Clone itself before or dies.

    It hurt me to see you cutting a beautiful, healthy bulb.
