  • The game is currently half price on steam until the 4th of March 2024! It's only 7 bucks so if you're tempted there's no better time to try than right now.
    Our third game in this week's tournament. Here we get to see how to deny a player attempting to snowball a Mustang Carry composition effectively and efficiently. We've finally found our feet in the new meta and it's all good fun. Tourney games are what I really enjoy, when everyone's giving it their all!
    Hope you enjoy watching as always. Anything you think I've done wrong or could do better please let me know, I'm always looking to improve both my gameplay and the video quality. Suspect there's quite a few epic fails here!

    Easy win! Huge misplay from red to keep those birds so far forward to get picked off every turn. Been there. More to learn from him honestly, just sell them to reposition, especially with extra deployment it's a big deal. Great endorsement for armor on tank load out, I'll tell ya that!

      Haha thanks, yeah he was unlucky with the positioning there and I think he didn't notice the first round they got picked off by the sniper. He did protect them in the end which won him a round and showed how easily he could have won a few more with better positioning there. It's a game of mere inches sometimes!

    Binge-watching your content as basically a study guide to get gud with. :) But had a decision I didn't understand ... why no elite marksman on the marksmen? All of them were leveled, four of them up to lvl3. That would be huge value and I wouldn't have considered siege mode on the scorpions to be worth more.

      Hey! Thanks for watching. If it's a question about a specific decision could you give me a rough time stamp to work from? Can't promise an accurate answer for a game I played five week ago off the top of my head I'm afraid!
      From the top of my head I wouldn't normally take Elite if the extra damage is unnecessary. So if we're already one-shotting everything we're hitting; or if the change in range won't affect the outcome of a fight. Say we're losing because of poor chaff clear rather than a positional issue then I'd rather spend the money on improving my chaff or chaff clear in return. Hope that makes sense, sorry I couldn't give you a definitive answer!

    I saw the game was on sale, so I ended up picking it up. Do you have any good beginner resources?
    Favorite unit so far is easily the marksman!

      Honestly just play and explore as you go, there's things you'll learn by doing or seeing your opponent do. It's part of the fun!
      Mechamonarch is Surrey's site (a top 20 player) and the foundation and basics are sound but I disagree with quite a few of his upgrade loadouts that I think are out dated, too specific or personal preference. I'm a big proponent of learning my doing and reflecting on what happened to improve.

    What do the wraiths do? I haven't seen them in a game yet except once on the last turn

    • @Drone_101
      @Drone_101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Gork! I think of Wraiths as like a whole squad of tanks rolled into one and given wings. They're a medium sized flier with 6 short ranged cannons that all shoot independantly of each other with a good sized splash radius.
      So Wraith's are great at mowing down chaff and mustangs if they can get into range of them, but less good vs single targets. They move quite slowly though so are vulnerable to Marksmen and Melting Points if not screened well with chaff of their own.
      Often you'll see people take Range, 2x Cannons, Degen Beam and Regeneration as upgrades. Hope that helps!

      @Wub-rv9xx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      wraith degeneration beam is underrated as hell, it slows enemies and (near-)guarantees good trades for as long as it's alive. if your opponent doesn't have enough anti-flyer single-target I very much recommend trying it. also great on flanks where they're too close to do anything about it.

    • @Drone_101
      @Drone_101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Wub-rv9xx It is a great tool, even with appropriate counter play from Photon Emission it can still be very powerful because as long as the Wraith is alive, the beam will be in effect. I do struggle to keep my Wraiths alive sometimes though!

      If enough of my friend group want to then I'll dive in! I'm normally a fairly patient gamer; like waiting for a discount or a "Game of the Year" edition. Recently been playing Palworld and FF7R in my spare time and having a blast.
      Being honest just playing Mechabellum and making these videos takes up a good chunk of my free time but I enjoy doing both so I'm quite happy!

      @@katel2610 nice! Part of the appeal for me as a patient gamer is most of the content and balance patching will have been done by the time I get to play. So I'll experience a 'finished' game ideally. The downside is you miss out on the fun of exploring the complete unknown that you get with a brand new game before thousands of people have cleared it.

    Are wasps not almost completely invalidated by mustangs? They have always felt to me like almost a gimmick unit.
    Late game wasps against a low aa enemy can close out a game. And early game you can steal a win with some flanking wasps against an unprepared foe.
    But the counters to wasps, mustangs and fangs, are both better units with more utility. So playing wasps just feels like pushing your oponent into making better units most of the time.

    • @Drone_101
      @Drone_101  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah Wasps can feel like an awkward unit sometimes, but knowing your opponent will answer with Mustangs can actually give you a second free round if you setup Fire Stormcallers or Vulcans with Incendiary to catch them as well.
      The advantage Wasps have is flying, so the ground burning under them matters not. Often if I'm doing a late game Wasp play the round after I'll mobile beacon them side to side so they waste more time - letting those squishy Mustangs trip up and get destroyed on the front lines. And remember, sometimes you only need to win one round to win the game if you've already got a good bit of damage in! Hope that helps!
