Thanks so much for this video! I think you're one of the only ones who went through all the notes and put them on the screen as well so i could keep track thank-you that helped so much! I sadly was duped on amazon a seller claimed their knock off brand was D major, when it arrived thanks to your video I discovered it was C Major, but was way too expensive to ship back. (It wasnt a prime item and I'm in Canada) We reached a deal they refunded a bit of money and i kept the drum. So i went drum hunting again and found another one that claimed to be D Major and although the picture wasnt great it at least showed the bottom was stamped D, It was the cheapest one i could find as thanks to that other drum I didnt have much money left. The seller was selling mainly crystal items so musical instruments weren't their forte it seemed. I thought even if the quality isnt that great I'd at least have a the D scale my family wanted so took a chance and bought it. Unbelievably upon arrival I discovered the case was embroidered with the Hluru mark the mallets have the stamp and the drum is actually a real genuine Hluru 15 note in D major! The exact one your holding but black and speckled. I'm on cloud nine right now! I came to your video again to make sure it really is tuned right and it is beautifully so, so thanks again! :D
Thanks so much. Yes I'm enjoying it even more as I get to learn where the sweet spots are. I'm even having fun with the Chinese song book. I may not play the rhythm exact because there isn't a guide to know how long to hold the beats but some of the songs sound like I would think they should be lol. Hi Maria, hi all viewers. Hope this help. 1) The music book consist of over 300 songs by the numbers, including nursery rhymes, pop songs and some classic pop songs in Chinese. The 15 notes tank drum would be able to play all the songs. 2) The sticker ( the brand name in Chinese off course) was the replaced of the previous plasticky sticker which kept coming off from the central circle of the casing case. The tank drum was made in D major was apparently, most of the Chinese songs are written in D major. You can expand the range by getting the 6 inch 8 notes tank drum, which compliments the 15 notes tank drum. I took the plunged and got my very first tank drum after watching Maria's videos, so talented, so fascinating to just see Maria playing beautiful music, just like that.

My tongue drum also have the same issue, the high 2 doesn't sound clean enough but high 3 does. I guess it's because of the structure of this drum...it is not perfect enough to make high 2 rings nicely, always with some other resonance around.
Yeah that can happen but as you said I think the good out ways the bad especially with so many notes to choose from right ?!! :) glad you are enjoying yours :)
I know this is a bit late, but that sticker fits in the backpack circle - just to show everybody that you have a Hluru drum while carrying it on your back.
I can't say for sure as this was sent directly to me from the seller. However, they are the ones that gave me the link so I would hope so. Not sure if that big book is included but perhaps you can contact the seller through the amazon link to ask a question. Hi Maria. Your video posted says 14 inch tongue drum. The link you provide for amazon says this is 13 inches. I would really like the 14 inch one. Is your link incorrect?
On the book that was given to me I don’t know how to differentiate between the numbers on the larger tongue and the smaller tongue. Is there a particular way where I can actually get a lesson on how to play this
There are a few books on Amazon If you search tongue drum Also in the book the numbers without any dash would be the main scale and then the ones with the dash above are the higher octave and the ones with the dash below are the lower octaves I hope that helps
in improvisation you can start any where. The numbers usually start with the lowest and they usually correspond to the larger tongues then as the pitch goes higher the tongues get smaller! hope that helps
