HSV GTS-R W1 0 - 100 in 4.2secs. 0 - 400m in 12.2secs. Something is amiss - that is pretty slow for a car producing 474kw and 815Nm. I have a 2012 C63 AMG with the performance pack making 343kw. Just last month I ran a PB at Perth Motorplex drags with an 12.01sec. I have both the dyno & timeslips. What is the issue here? Does the W1 really loose that much power? Especially when u can buy my car for ~ $70k vs over $170k for the W1 & be even with a car thats older and & has MUCH less power. Not trying to put this car down, I just don't understand what is going on here.
Sorry HSV, still stupid you didnt go for 500kw. Why not REALLY make a staple and go out with a bang. 500 factory kw on that impressive chassis/suspension/braking set up. If you guys did a factory 500kw, i would have spent the more money and bought the W1 instead of the regular GTSR
Neglecting to mention that from the 5.7 to the LS9 they are American imported & changed a little here .. Ford V8's the same .. only true Aussie powered muscle car is the F6.
dont blame me , never owned an Asian motor car. the cheap Australian consumer destroyed this industry, it did not self destruct, the ???? did not support it well enough and goes the same for a whole lot of nitty gritty in the Australian GDP.
I'm disappointed, i expected much better times and quarter mile time from the W1. It had my hopes up that it'll be the quickest modern muscle sedan in the world but the XR6T and especially the F6 smashes it...
Funny you say that, I have no bias when it comes to ford vs holden, but i have never driven a smoother and more capable factory car than the GTSR. I know it's expensive, but for a factory car, it is so enjoyable and smooth. 435kw and so smooth to drive. The brakes are stupidly good, the turn in response from the front end of the car is tight as fuck ;) and the independent rear just hugs the ground when you get on it. The GTSR feels so close to a v8 supercar it's insane. The motor reacts completely different to an SSV Redline or even an R8, despite the supercharger, it feels so rev happy and light. The only peeve about the car is the weight, you can really feel how heavy it is. However the chassis/suspension almost negate the worry. It is so refined, cudos to the engineers at HSV, it really is fantastic. I just wish it had a little bit more power over last year's LSA output... Somewhere around 455kw for GTSR base, and 500kw for GTSR W1. That would have been just that tad more exciting.
RIP HSV; it's been fun
Can't wait for my GTS R to arrive!! Cheers Greg
Absolutely stunning vehicles guys, you have done a truly great job and built an unbelievable all round car... kudos to all involved !!
vs gtsr bluprinted engine was said to make 235 kw.
Amazing car that W1
So what do you guys do when commodore production ends?
HSV is still alive, just been renamed to GMSV with a new range of cars as Holden is sadly finished 😔
YEAH l want ONE too
Thought the vs held a 5 litre?
Lol same
True it is the old holden 5ltr but bored & stroked.

@@darryllspalding9680 Bet you're wrong...
My ecotec would smoke all these
Destroy it
Here i am in late 2018 & Holden left Aus, stopped making the commodore..nobody buying holden,,,WTF have they done..stupid business decision

And it'll still get smoked by most Falcon XR6T's...all day long...
I think most of them have run off the road into trees as soon as there is a light shower.

Typical dero ford owner comment right there.
