    That's the problem with having all those separate bits of electronic gear so close together - they often generate a very noisy field between them! 😄 Personally I would send it back, and pay more attention to the floor - that way you can avoid tripping up on the 20 foot cable coiled perilously at your feet 👍

    • @toddpattison
      @toddpattison 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I’ve always been advised to never use an instrument cable over 12feet long to mitigate the possible RF interference.. though for live performances, I feel it’s a benefit to have that surprise 😅

      Yes, exactly. I did send it back. For now wires it shall be. Rock on brother! ;)

    white noise is part of the cosmic electromagnetic background radiation background spectrum. There is little we can do to get away from it. When transmitting radio signals, the waveform amplitude at these carrier frequencies is so small the receiver has to amplify the signal so loud it amplifies white noise with it. The best solution is to send a treble boosted signal from the source input to the transmitter ~ > # to the receiver, theneq the treble out along with the white noise.

    Get rid of the JOYO asap! And check out the Swiff WS-50. I recently did a comparison test of a bunch of wireless systems and i think the Swiff was one of the best ones for the money compared to the rest. I try to stay away from 2.4Ghz systems because they usually get lots of interference from wifi. My Lekato 5.8ghz (funny enough also named WS-50) has served me really well for years with no static noise and barely any wifi interference. The Swiff has even less interference and more UHF channels, very low noise, a larger range in the house, longer battery life and a killer price. The only reason why i didn’t keep it is because it didn’t worked so well with my active EMG. But that was literally the only downside that i could find with it. If you don’t use active pickups the get the Swiff. But personally i prefer the slightly more sturdy build off the Lekato WS-50. I can recommend both.
    I also tried the Lekato WS-70, and hated that one! Very much hiss and a terrible compression that killed most dynamics of your softer playing. Steer clear of that one!
    I have also used the Line6 G10 and the XVIVE U2. Both are dead bow and cost almost three times as much so i won’t recommend those. You can get a pretty good wireless system for less than 60 bucks. Check out that swiff for sure.
    I hate running with my chair over the cables too and go as much wireless as I possibly can. So i’m constantly on the look out for decent wireless systems. I even use a Lekato MS-1, for stereo wireless in-ear or headphones. It will work with most of your existing headphones and can even be used as a stereo audio transmitter/receiver for other uses. It is not bluetooth, so you won’t have that annoying latency that bluetooth will give you! And the MS-1 doesn’t interfere with my guitar wireless either, so i can use both at the same time.

      I definitely concur; I havent tried the Joyo but have sworn by the SwiffAudio SW50 (NOT the 70!!) for years and they are almost perfect. And as an added bonus (which work with any wireless) found out they cure bad earthing hum and string based electrocution! But the SW-50 is the biz!!!

    Joyo i had a joyo EQ that I liked I was a lot of fun but at the end of the day it was lacking in I guess power. I do miss that fun little piece and fun little box
    Strange now I have a freakish big EQ that I love but never played lol 😅 maybe I should get the joyo back.
    Francis have a great Friday tomorrow bro.🎉

      Hey Brother, great to see you. Joyo makes great gear, I got 4 of the amp pedals they made and they are great. Just with this wireless system too much noise for me. If you like the EQ maybe yo u should find another one. I hope you have a great week. Catch you on the tubes! ;)

    I would love a good wireless system .. I have been so done with cables always getting tangled 😅.. the only thing that comes to mind is that a lot of devises use that frequency .. I agree, I couldn’t deal with that hiss.. I wonder if a higher frequency system would be better..

    • @ThePaddedPedalroom
      @ThePaddedPedalroom  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure if I can find one with a higher frequency, but I will continue to research until I find one good for me. I must say this one for the price is not bad, I had a wireless system back in the 90's cost over $500 and had this big box with rabbit ears I had to put on my amp and that one would cut out and get noise. So things have gotten better but this is not the one for me.

    I just came across your channel. I have the same setup and it has recently started to hiss. I've been researching off and on to try and find someone with a similar problem to see if there was a solution. Changing channels didn't work for me either. It's disappointing because minus the hiss it's a great system. At least there's more than just one of us lol. Thanks for the video. Cheers

    Just ordered this for my Basses. I dont run effects so hopefully I dont get that annoying hiss. If I do, Its gonna get sent back. I plan to use it for garage rehearsals and small gigs if it does well. Good review.

    I had the old NUX wireless. It worked well, till it didn't. It had no hiss, but it was far more expensive. One day it just stopped working completely. It should be noted, I'm buying a new one (quite a bit cheaper). A Chinese knock-off of Westshell 1 devices. I'll let you know how it works when I get it. Cost $50.

    Stinks that the system makes noise. Could be all the effects interfering with the radio signal. Possibly plugging the receiver into an extension 1/4-inch cable (if they even exist) would get it far enough away from the pedals to stop the interference??? It might just be behaving like an unshielded cable because the receiver is so close to all the pedals. Pretty sure those wireless things don't really work on keyboards because of all the electronics in modern synth engines. Hope you can cancel the noise and be able to use the things!!!! Thanks, Francis!!!!

      @ThePaddedPedalroom  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    We will have it soon. A digitized radio signal should not pick up unwanted white noise. So is the transmission signal carrying an audio signal? If so, it's not the best solution.

      not sure don't have it anymore, can not test it. Thanks for your feedback.

    It's a $35 system so the hiss doesn't surprise me. I tried the Xvive U2 (about $150) and out of the box it worked great and didn't hiss... until after a while it started dropping the signal--on every channel--more and more often, regardless of the venue. My Line6 G50 simply quit working after about three years. So far, the Shure GLXD-16 has the best bang for the buck in terms of reliability and signal quality. But it's also close to $500. :/

    Great video, Francis. I had a real low level noise issue with high gain sounds when I tried a set of wireless connections recently. Different company, but same issue. I found that turning the noise gate up a fair bit got rid of it.
