    We did 3 sections on this Thursday, we live in Beckenham. We started by the Thames. We enjoyed your journey, nice to see what coming up, thank you.

    Just watching some of your old videos and stumbled upon this gem. Seems like a sign as we just found out about the Capital Ring Walk the other week and have been planing to make a start. So fun to see you walking around my hood of Finny P!

      I enjoyed this walk - well, kind of.
      Did you walk it? Or still planning?

    Thanks for sharing this, I'm ticking off sections gradually over the next few months. Really helpful to see the area and hear your advice at each stage! :)

      Hey Chris, it's great to hear from you and that you are doing the loop.
      It's surprising how much green space there is.
      Beware of that section 14 and 15 😆
      Let me know how you get on.
      I'm doing the London Loop this year also so will be making a video about that.

    Another great challenge LT. I particularly loved seeing the section on Shooters Hill, Oxleas Woods, Woolwich and Eltham etc this is where I grew up and I recognised so much. Proper nostalgic hit. Thanks for yet another interesting and inspiring video.

    Hi Laura, the church I go to (St Mary's in Teddington), we set up a walking group and last year between the first and second lockdowns, we started tackling the capital ring walk. We started out at Streatham Common (section 5) and we have recently completed section 13 and part of section 14. There's about 20 of us in the group, and we've usually done a section on the first Friday or Saturday of each month, but I wasn't always able to join due to work commitments, so I caught up on the sections I couldn't join on days off etc. Yesterday I did section 8, I've still to do section 11, 13 and 14 to catch up with the rest of the group. I am really enjoying the walks, each section is so fascinating, parts of London I knew of but never had any reason to go to them in the past, and so many beautiful parks and green spaces. Many Thanks for your videos, very enjoyable viewing. All the Best :)

    This is amazing! Thank you! I've been meaning to do it for a couple of years but I couldn't find a map apart from the pdf version on the tfl website (and I never had holiday time in London as I will have this year. Haha) Thank you!
    Also, another one (although much smaller) I eyeing and you might be interested on it's the green chain walk. It connects various parks in the South East of London.

      Hey Daniel, it's great to hear from you!
      And thanks for your comment.
      I agree, there's no better time to explore local than right now 😀
      Did you manage to find the full route for the CRW on the Komoot app? If not, I can send you the link.
      You must have been reading my mind in the Green Chain Walk. I also want to do the London Loop but it's 150 miles 🤪

      @@LauraTryUK London loop? I've never heard of it. I'll have to look it up! :D
      Yes! I found it and discovered a great app along the way (double thanks!). I found there's a cycling version too, I think I'll test that as a solo adventure and organise the walk with someone.
      I'm still finding my feet in the app (can't figure out how to search for things) do you know if the green chain or the London loop have been mapped as well?

    • @LauraTryUK
      @LauraTryUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielmestriner8526 Hey, I am pleased you found the London Loop - there is a link for it on the tfl website (tfl.gov.uk/modes/walking/loop-walk)
      The app can be a little tricky to navigate at times but it is also SOOOOO useful for human-powered adventure and fitness, avoiding main roads etc. I use it for route planning primarily.
      Have you tried the laptop version? I find it a little easy to navigate.
      I haven't found a London Loop route on Komoot yet but I plan to make a route and have it public at some point. I think I'd like to cycle that - 150 miles of walking is loooooooong.

    • @LauraTryUK
      @LauraTryUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielmestriner8526 PS - the best way I have found to finding a route on Komoot is by putting the route name in google followed by komoot i.e. Captial Ring Walk Komoot, or Green Chain Loop Komoot.

    Hi. 4 days?! Well done! 👏🏻 I did it one stage at a time - a lot of it in winter! - & noticed that the quality of the signage varied from borough to borough. It's good that you had an app as for the first half I used the TfL directions maps which were a struggle to use at times. Great way to discover my own city, most of which I had never been to before. I loved it.
    Make sure you tackle the London Loop next! You will love it. Much more countryside.
    Toodles.

      Hey Jeremiah - thank you so much for your comment. I loved reading it.
      Wow, to you doing it in winter!
      I will admit, 4 days was pretty hard going.
      I have the London Loop on the list for sure. I am so pleased you said there is more countryside. I would like to experience that. Have you done the whole loop of it?
      And yes to definitely needing a pre-planned route or app as I found some of the signage a bit tricky i.e. some of the oath had none 😆

    Nice video thanks,... just started walking in sections myself. Agree with you about the Green Way on section 14 - boring, and didn't smell too good either, but the rest was great - really surprising how green it was - so many lovely parks :-)

    I wish you had a buddy to enjoy this with. I was pretty independent with a lot in my life but I don’t think I would have felt safe to do this alone. I have never been to Europe. It’s always been on my bucket list.

    What a Great nature Walk around London - One of the greatest parts of Sydney Australia is all the nature walks in and around the city. Would Love to know if you're allowed to Bike Ride the entire Capital Ring Walk - Its something I would be keen to do with my family.

    Hi Laura. Great video, thank you! I'm tempted to try and do this walk over 3 days with my wife. So by my maths - about a marathon a day in distance. We'd love to do it over 4 or 5 days but with childcare, it's not really feasible. We're mid-30s, pretty fit, do a decent amount of walking, but we're not endurance athletes or anything like that. Do you think this is possible? Other than tiredness/soreness, is there any reason you'd recommend against? Thank you. Harry

    • @LauraTryUK
      @LauraTryUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Harry, are you guys used to walking that distance? I start to struggle at around 15 miles so 20 miles a day is my limit.

    • @harrypardoe7539

      @@LauraTryUK Hi Laura - so the answer is...not really. But we're giving it a try in a few weeks! Brave or stupid I don't know. But if we can't do the distances each day we'll just jump on a bus/train to our accommodation and have an early beer! Quick question for you - do you know if there are any guide books/info that relate to doing the walk ANTI clockwise...? I bought the book but it's clockwise and we're having to go the other way round... No problem if you don't know. Thanks!

    You really don't need the background music, it's distracting!!
