Listening to you say, "the flux will go clear, and the solder will flow" has become music to my ears. I never tire of it. Thank you infinitely for the many lessons and gifts.
Just watched for the third time because I wasn't ready to make the ring the other two times and I forgot how you held the ring when you riveted it. I'm still mastering riveting and you make it look so easy. Love your tutorials because they are interesting projects and you explain everything so well. Thank you!
I just discovered your channel few days ago by an accident!!!!! And just hooked on it. Can’t stop watching, loved your unconventional tools like that wooden block 😃! Thank you so much for lovely Videos.
Another beautiful piece, Soham; thank you! I particularly liked the look of that marvelous chunky amethyst, but the howlite is stunning, too. This ring would beautifully set off almost any bead I can think of. This is so timely, because I was just wondering in the past week or so exactly how to go about setting a bead without having to deal with a bezel and trying to hide the holes, which is obviously not possible with them all. I've started to get much more into silversmithing, but I have a houseful of beautiful beads I want to make sure I still use. This will give me even more options for them than I had even considered when I bought them.
Excellent again Soham. That's so great, I can use that idea for some fully drilled pearls I have. I was wondering how I might set them in a ring. Thank you so much. Shelly
Perfectly beautiful, as expected. Thank you thank you thank you. You HAD to have taught in the past. If so it really shows. If not, you're quite a natural.
Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing. You have become my go to person for unique projects that I haven't been able to easily find tutorials on. I have a question - How would you set a wire rivet on only one side of a bead or would that even be possible. I have an earring design idea in which a piece of wire is u shaped with a bead on either end. I wouldn't be able to place it on the bench block. I thought of putting it in my vice, but I'm not sure if the rivet would work without the resistance of the block on the opposite side.
Very Interesting. Does the bead move or swivel? is it supposed to? it's just supported by rounded surface on rivet.ever loosen up?. it's a neat design don't get me wrong. thanks for great Vid
I've watched a number of your videos and you do a great job of explaining the process involved in each step. I may have missed it somewhere, but what media do you use in the tumbler? And is tumbling usually better to use on pendants and rings than the buffer? Thank you
wow, what a rapid response, thank you. I live in North Pole, Alaska and it is 8:05 P.M. wasn't expecting a reply at least until morning. Again thank for your channel and your excellent instruction.
Hi, I am going to make this ring, but just what is rivet wire. I can not find it in the stores. Just what is it and where can I get some. Thanks Charles
In other videos, it sounds like a baby crying. Not so much in this one. I was thinking it was some kind of bird. Soham, will you show us your baby, of whichever species it is?
Why didn't you just prevent fire scale with alcohol and borax? Isn't that what we're supposed to do. I've never heard you say before, to tumble so the fire scale won't show,

Very attractive piece. Thanks. Was that a parrot in the background?
precioso trabajo, bendiciones para ti por compartir tus conocimientos
gracias
Very beautiful ring!
Fabulous! Thank you for sharing!
Could I use a bezel hammer instead of a rivet hammer? Maybe not since bezel hammer has bigger surface area?
Do you have a pet parrot? Or is that one of those beautiful wild Aussie parrots outside your shop?
Excellent. As always. Thank you so much. BTW, what is making the calling sound in the background?
Mennedy1 sounded like a lamb!😁
thank you so much for you teaching like this!!! THANK YOU
i am pleased to be of service

Thanks for another great video. At the end - "setting the rivet", are you just flattening the ends of the rivet?
basically yes, but be sure to smooth out any rough bits
Thanks Soham.

What a shame to put a dyed stone into such a great setting.
Lovely work!!
That's what I was thinking! But it keeps cost down, I suppose, and more accessible to people who might not buy something a little more expensive.
Is that a baby baboon in the background? Im being 100% serious. That is EXACTLY Zwhat they sound like!
cool as
is the solder silver
+mikecat23 yes, hard silver solder
again...thank you...
What animals is that at 05:00? crows?
2degucitas I think it's Soham's cat.
In other videos, it sounds like a baby crying. Not so much in this one. I was thinking it was some kind of bird.

yes, but if you don't you can tumble. if you buff the fine silver coating will be polished off and the firescale will show
you could but you would have to change the media, just buff it up
i meant magpie doh !
