Fabricated rings are interesting. I have made a ring from one piece of material. Would you consider posting a such a ring? One with a mounted stone of course.
Thank you. I intend to try this with two wires of 12 gauge already soldered together in their mid point. Used hard solder and it took FOREVER to flow. The first piece of solder ran around to a side, added another piece, continued, and now I have a piece of solder to file off, and a headache. I have a stone and matching bezel cup ready. Not good at fitting, measuring; if it doesn't fit a finger, I'll put tape under. :)) ........(Making it BIG.)
Thank you for all your video's, Soham, they're very instructive. What I don't understand about this video is how you make the bezel. You said you would solder the bigger ring on top, but in the second video I see a bezel on top. Is it a ring with a strip of metal around it or how do you make this?

You have a jeweler's hands, Soham. You're right handed. That's clear. You have more arthritis in your right hand from years at the bench! I am also right-handed, but I'm more arthritic in my left hand from playing the mandolin for 30 years, fretting with my left hand! Gee, I'm Multi-Talented! LOL! Haha. Not so talented with the mando, but I play Bach. Also not as experienced with jewelry. Bach is hard to play well.
ye i will. i like to have all the tools, half the battle isnt it, your right ill make one, better than using the punch to do it, One more question, been reding up on etching, seems a good way of getting pattrens on, Can you etch gold ? thanks soham

yes, but it takes a strong acid. you need to buy tim mcreight's book "the complete metalsmith" it if full of useful info like this. the student version is good enough, but the professional version has worthwhile additions.

just make one out of an old file. anneal the metal, cut and file to shape, then re harden. mc creight has a good section on tool making
