    Thank you very much for your amazing lectures. I have a question about the stimulation of G-cells: My professor told us that Gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) was the neurotransmitter released via the Vagus N. that activates G-cell release of Gastrin, NOT ACh. Have you heard of this NT and if so just want to know which is the NT that binds to the G-cell to cause Gastrin release---thank you so much again! Truly love your lectures and wouldn't be passing medical school without you.

    Hi,
    In the lecture you said that parietal cells are the ones that release intrinsic factors. From my textbook it says the parietal cells release HCl which stimulates the Chief cells to secrete the intrinsic factor and pepsinogen. Is that correct?

    • @mo.mandor8864
      @mo.mandor8864 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      cj105569 . If that is correct , destruction of parietal cell will not cause prenicious anemia .
      but peptic cellc secrete only pepsinogen and when it becomes in contact with hcl secreted by parietal cell it converts into active form (pepsin )
      intrinsic factor is secreted from parietal cell along with the secretion of hcl to absorp vitamin B12 which is responsible for maturation of RBCs .....

    • @mirnotion
      @mirnotion 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      cj105569 Parietal cells secrets both. The intrinsic factor is necessary so that later on, in the small intestine, vitamin B12 can be absorbed.

    • @mo.mandor8864
      @mo.mandor8864 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sabrina you are right
      you can add that vitamin B 12 and intrinsic factor form a complex attaches to cubam receptor in terminal ileum then it is transported across the cell membrane and bound to transcobalamine in the blood

    First Of All Thank You !, Your provide one of the Best Lectures about GI System on youtube.
    However could you please make a Video Explaining the Sequence in which those enzymes are released from moment we ingest food into the mouth ,
    - is it that the food enters the Stomach the motility forces the G cell to release gastrin ? and does Gastrin then Proceed to Stimulate Parietal Cell(HCL) / Chief Cell (pepsin).
    I Hope my Sequence is correct.
    Thanks Again!.
