As far as AA is concerned: Suni is stronger on BB and FX, and they're about the same on VT. The Bronze AA is really a toss-up between: Sunisa Lee, Kaylia Nemour, Qiu Qiyuan, and tbh, if they make big mistakes, we could even see Melanie DJDS, Alice Kinsella, or Manila Esposito up there! Even Jordan Chiles could beat Suni in Quals and EASILY end up close to the podium!

For Uneven Bars: Same scenario; if everyone hits, it should be Nemour (Gold), Qiu Qiyuan (Silver) and Bronze is between Suni Lee and Becky Downie.

It will come down to beam, Brazil has the edge on vault/floor and Italy has the advantage on bars. Beam in theory should go to Italy with Esposito and D'Amato pretty consistent this year, but Villa is a big risk with that tuck full...Brazil has some good scores this year too from their beam trio although Soares potential is lower for sure...

The US team was the only one that posted an average of 42+ across all apparatuses and is the only team that realistically one could have expected to do that. I’m nervous to see beam performances at this Olympics. Gymnasts have been saying that since the beam and mats are the same color, the bright arena lights are messing with their depth perception, making it hard to tell where to land during aerial skills. I really hope that’s able to be remedied for the actual competition.

Yeo went as high as 14.516 with her Rudi + DTY combo last year which I think Jade will need the Amanar to beat, but then Yeo has her eponymous vault as well. I would give Yeo the edge even though Jade is my favorite and I think her Cheng should be scoring 14.75+

I also think anyone who makes the bar final has a decent shot at bronze TBH--don't be shocked if Alice D'Amato, Rebeca, Melanie DJDS, Helen Kevric, or Sanna Veerman ends up with the bronze, bars is an anything-can-happen final, especially coming at the end when everyone is exhausted.

Based on her international scores this year and her new DTY on vault, Kaylia can probably break 57 in the AA. Suni's highest score domestically is only a 56.025. Suni's potential is definitely higher than that, and if she pulls everything together (and if her beam difficulty holds up in international scoring--which it might not) she could challenge Kaylia. But Kaylia has been very consistent this year, while Suni has been struggling a lot with consistency. Suni definitely has a chance at bronze, but Kaylia seems a lot more likely. Qiu Qiyuan of China also probably has a higher chance than Suni if she hits. And yes, agreed that dark horses are very hard to predict. It's always so exciting when someone unexpected gets a medal!

Only two American can make it to the final, and since Simone is basically guanteed, then only one of Suni and Jordan Chiles can make it to AA finals. Suni and Jordan have been scoring very similarly in AA all season, so it really comes down to who hits tomorrow at qualifying! Suni has a higher max score ceiling, and competition really seems to bring out her fighting spirit, so I think it's more likely that Suni will make it. But it won't be shocking at all if Jordan beats her in the AA at qualifying.
@KelsKingdom1 Well we all know by now Suni will DEFINITELY be defending her title and I am happy for her while a bit sad for Jordan. One can never be completely happy either way in a situation like this because the US ladies were top 4 in the Quals and because of the 2 pc rule Jordan will not be in the final. This is somewhat reminiscent of 2016 when Gabby the defending AA champion was 2 pc'd.

As it is she has a major advantage over Suni on vault and floor, on bars Suni is going for 6.5 while Rebeca is going for 6.4, and on beam Suni in theory has a 6.7 but if she simplifies her mount and doesn't get credit for her dismount that could quickly become a 6.1. I think Rebeca will finish pretty far ahead of Suni

Suni and Jordan have been scoring very similarly in AA all season, so it really comes down to who hits tomorrow at qualifying! Suni has a higher max score ceiling, and competition really seems to bring out her fighting spirit, so I think it's more likely that Suni will make it. But it won't be shocking at all if Jordan beats her in the AA at qualifying.
@KelsKingdom1 Well we all know by now Suni will DEFINITELY be defending her title and I am happy for her while a bit sad for Jordan. One can never be completely happy either way in a situation like this because the US ladies were top 4 in the Quals and because of the 2 pc rule Jordan will not be in the final. This is somewhat reminiscent of 2016 when Gabby the defending AA champion was 2 pc'd.

Do you think Rebeca will fall in AA? As it is she has a major advantage over Suni on vault and floor, on bars Suni is going for 6.5 while Rebeca is going for 6.4, and on beam Suni in theory has a 6.7 but if she simplifies her mount and doesn't get credit for her dismount that could quickly become a 6.1. I think Rebeca will finish pretty far ahead of Suni
