I love watching these athletes performing the long jump. Mihambo is definitely my favourite. One thing that I'm curious about is that we never see anyone doing the actual measuring of each jump. So how do they do that? I'd love to know. Cheers. Paul from NZ.

When the Quarar player got hurt (i think long jump) and the Italian immediately went to help him because in the last olympics they won gold tgt and became friends 🥺
The fact that the rules stated that the time should be rounded to the nearest 10th which would give both men the same times means the country or track team shouldn't be the ones to protest the rules should have been applied accordingly therefore the 2 men should be given the gold medal saying that the time has passed for protest is a disrespect to the Jamaican and the rules in general give Thompson his gold he ran his heart out for it be fair Olympic personel and stick to your own rules you can't just change them in the middle of the game like a spoiled toddler
Watching this after the Olympics and I guess the stories about that extra springy elevated platform were accurate because the top 7 ladies certainly didn't jump like this at the Olympics. Mhambo is the shizz and even she couldn't jump 7m in Paris. They got rolled by the tiniest person in the entire Olympic long jump competition. 🤣🤣 Next time maybe not have that springy platform that gave everyone a false sense of where they're at in their training. If you're not going to use that at every event, then don't pull it out for major European championships right before the Olympic games.

Unfortunate but as the rule states it's the last impression left in the sand, that's why it's important to have a good leg shoot and keep the body forward
