I became a huge fan of the zed threes because of need for speed high stakes, such a nice car and if i had a dream car ot would probably almost nearly maybe be this one, awesome work
This why I love the Z3 low weight big engine. 5 speed ties it all in so nicely I got the 2.5 chirping into 3rd gear fully stock this car wants to gooooo
Do you still have this car? And in AZ? (I am in Scottsdale) I am in the middle of building out a kit for my Z3M Coupe utilizing a similar manifold and 6262 turbo. Would love to pick your brain on some of the re-routing and relocation that had to be done.
Im 16 just about to finish my bass build in my z3 same year as yours, I think this might be my next project ive been working on the bass build for 2.5 years because I dont make much money. How much did it cost you?
I built this 3 years ago so prices change. If you do all of the work 100% on your own. Could be done for 4-6k. There’s places you can save money. Cheaper turbo, cheaper manifold, cheaper intercooler, etc.
Any chance you can tell me a few issues i might run into with the M52TU25? Im learning how to work on cars, i feel like i picked a good first one i got my 2000z3 not running and got it driving in a month. Now I’m looking to start doing some big boy work to this bad boy!
do you know how many kilometres the motor lasts on the 2.8 litre Z3? Ive seen some say 200,000 klms. there's one for sale which has 196,000 on the clock and I'm wondering if I'll be up for engine replacement
Unfortunately the information you provided is irrelevant. How well the vehicle was maintained for those miles is whats important. Do a general inspection and go from there. They are a reliable platform though and can last a very long time 250/300k+
I’ve had a 2.8 m52 in e39 chassis,450k km’s on clock. Well maintained, serviced on time. Nothing serious issues. Have a Z3 with the same engine, 116k on clock( miles) bought for a full restoration and turbo project
hey man glad to find this video. I have a 97 2.8. This build is badass, but would you think it is easier to do something like this or throw an LS1 in it? Also, would you recommend finding an iron block m52 for someone not looking to run 22 lbs of boost? I am trying to be at the mid 400s mark, not really tryna build a roll race car more of a z3 with m4 power. Thanks!
No, LS can be cheap and easy if your knowledgeable. But realistically to make 400 hp. You can do a super easy budget build. Like a Cx racing turbo manifold, vs turbo, stock head gasket etc and make 400 all day. If money isn’t an issue I still say do a turbo 2.8 for ease. It’s literally a turbo kit and that’s it. No modifications to harness, cutting wires, etc. basically plug and play
@@boostedz3828 so you think you can get 400hp just from a turbo kit, and probably a tune? Sounds too good to be true. How hard would it be installing a turbo kit?
@@jaketester7245I mean it's only as hard as your knowledge is but is not too good to be true a good tune and a turbo push this engines quite a long way they can handle 500-600 stock and just putting 8 pounds or 10 in it even with the aluminum block it can still handle it
@@boostedz3828 Out of curiosity and me wanting to do 350 or so HP with my Z3, have you had any issues with the rear end? Any pinch welds brake or have you done chassis reinforcements?
@@sahzhree7757 Not a single issue. Granted my car didn't have rust when I bought it and to be fair there are stock z3s with subframe issues. But I'm going on 2 years of serious abuse. I really don't do any dig races though because I have zero traction in first and some of second.
I easily can but I never went and got the custom lines made. Compressor, condenser and everything else is there. Would take maybe $50 and an hour of work to get it working. I only drive the car with the top down so never got around to it.
Nice to see another turbo Z3.Great build.
00:30 seconds in..

I have a 450Hp m52TU E46 323i sedan. My motor is a 2.5 and it sounds great just like your does.
Great stuff. I'm building my 318ti with an m52b28. I saw your thumbnail and thought, "That's cute." Then saw the turbo and heard 22psi. Lol geez

Sounds amazing almost like an rb sick build
😮😮😮 that thing moves down the road like a certified ripper 🤘🤘
DEF my favorite z3 build!
Not very often I see a turbo z3 and it's soooo cool to see.
R33s are getting way out of price range. But thinking a z3 or z4 would be fun
I recommend doingnit
What turbo kit you used ?
@christopherrichards1379 I ended up snagging a r33 😅
Would love to see more driving clips of this car!!
Sounds realy cool tbh, you make me wanna buy a z3 and turbo it too😂👍👍
Awesome🔥🔥 made 715whp with a stock m52 with studs, gasket and m3 cams. This was 05/06 so im sure you can make more safely with modern tech and e85.
Can we get a video showing closer view of turbo setup? The header, and oil supply line?
almost sounds like a supra thing is a dream
Damn that looks clean asf
Love it. Please more videos of your build journey 👌🏻
Z4 platform has the best sterring and stiffest frame
Hey may i ask what's the fitment on the rims and tires
Random but what blanking plates for the truck luggage rack? Been looking for some to remove mine
How come no more NEW videos? Did the engine blow out?

Sounds like a beauty, it should drive like a beast
Immer noch ein sehr Schönes Auto und mit Turbo ! echt Klasse ! aber schade um die Reifen ! Gruß aus Deutschland Steffen Reddig
Could you make a list of all the stuff and links if possible 🙏🏼
Might be a stupid question. But I have the m52 all aluminum. Would it be a bad idea to do this set up without the iron block?
Noce work brozenski
What turbo manifold are you running?
How much you spend gor everything
So cool
What size rear tires are you running on those Style 32's.? The fitment is beyond perfect! 🥰😎
Just curious, have you done the rear subframe reinforcement or have your spot welds held up?
Completely stock. Haven’t had to reinforce it… yet. Also just added a track poly bushing to the diff last month so we’ll see how long it lasts. Lol
Nice job! That exhaust sounds incredible! How could I make my 3.0i sound similar without a turbo?
Thank you! And to answer your question... You don't.

Did the turbo make it any faster?
Yes
No it made it way slower
What is your PCV / CCV setup. Looks like you have factory hose coming from valve cover
Vents straight to atmosphere under the car.
hey im looking at doing something simular! would you be open to doing a complete written parts list?
I've done it alot of times. Check the Facebook groups for my posts

Perfect build 📌🫡 …. You beat me to it 😭😭 I’m gonna run pump gas tho, they don’t sell corn oil near me
Was the rear subframe reinforced or is it holding?
it finally let go after 3 years a few months ago lol
are you joking with the wind noise in your camera? give me a break.
great ! how is the handling? i have the same project!

What turbo are you running i didnt catch it in the video? This thing sounds the nuts!
Precision 62/66. 3.5 inch turbo back with recirculated wastegate
Where’d you get that exhaust
It's custom how I wanted it. By OD Performance in New York.
What are the rims called or where did you get them?
Style 32s off a 5 series.
Thoes are style 32's off a e36. 5 series are big lips. ( I run a 20" style 32 off a 7 series on my turbo s52 e39it )
What are the fitment of the style 32
What exhaust do you have?
It’s a 3.5 inch turbo back with vibrant resonator, vibrant race muffler, and the wastegate is recirculated into the exhaust.
What rear end are you running
Stock 98 2.8 driveline

I do all my own work so it's hard to say. In parts with today's inflation and availability. I'd say you'd be paying 6-8k+ in parts.
Stock internals?
Yep m52b28 short block from a 528i.

Wanna trade for a 700hp 335 with a 6hp28 swap lol?
I'm gonna pass lol. Thanks though!
you are pretty forgetful for such a young sounding person...nice build though
Was desperate to watch and listen to the video and all I heard was wind noise…..WASTE OF TIME
I’m using this as inspiration for my next big mod on my ‘97 z3🙏🏻
Hey bro I’m from LI too,I have a ‘01 Z3 trying to do a similar build, what ur IG lemme shoot you a Dm
