      GellurudGallery- I like Micheal Moore very much but he completely mis-represented the medical system in Cuba in this documentary ..
      Cuba's healthcare system is like George Orwell's "Animal Farm." All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. The result is a two-tiered system where the foreign guests and Cuban insiders like Castro and his cronies experience fine care and the have-nots, everyone else have trouble finding aspirin and have to bring everything with them, because the hospital provides NOTHING!!!! Pillows, sheets, medicine EVERYTHING!!! How can they say they have a great medical system in Cuba when we’ve been sending BANDAIDS to family for 40 years! Ask any Cuban in Miami what they send their families in Cuba the most of?? I can answer that for you... Basic Medicine!!
      Here you go take a look!!! These are hospitals in Cuba for the people and for the tourist... Look at it!!!!! The documentary was great until the end when Cuba came into the picture, it’s a lie! The regular people of Cuba don’t get that kind of care!! As for Bernie I don’t like him after researching his long history of communist support..

      charcolew- I’M CUBAN!! So u can’t bullshit me !!! This is very personal, we had to flee the communist regime u say takes such good care of people!! The entire thing is COMPLETE BULLSHIT!!
      Free medical killed my grandmother on a visit to Cuba!!! She caught the flu landed in a free hospital for the people, my mother got her the hell outta there and she died a week later in a hospital in Miami.. She caught a very deadly contagious virus that the doctors said was uncommon and only seen when in contact with unsanitary conditions. She also had to get the medical supplies here in Miami and send it to the doctors in Cuba so my grandfather could get a simple operation!!
      Free??? My ass free!! I’m Cuban and I’ve lived the consequences of this shit!!!
      Bernie still says that CUBAN health care system is great!! STILL! I like to see if he would stay in the hospital grandma stayed in instead of the one he probably visited, that is for the tourist. Yes!!! There are hospitals for the tourist..The one you have to PAY for!! . I know this because my piece of shit cousin pulled abuela out of that hospital kept the 2 grand my mother put in my grandmother’s purse, kept the money and put her in the “ FREE “ hospital for the people and told my mother they used the money for FOOD!!
      I love how wishful thinkers have praised the Cuban health system...But the reality is they don’t know shit!! Landing in a Cuban hospital for the people is a human HELL HOLE !!! It’s a fcking nightmare and it killed my grandmother!!! U my dear are COMPLETELY CLUELESS TO THE REALITY OF COMMUNISM and BERNIE DEFENDS IT!!
      Bernie Sanders is a communist!!! Look at his history!!! Here let me help u !! Here are 10 reasons why I completely changed my mind about Bernie Sanders !! Take a look!!
      1-At the University of Chicago, Mr. Sanders was a member of the Young People’s Socialist League. In 1963, he lived in Israel at Kibbutz Sha’ar Ha’amakim (KSH), which was co-founded by Aharon Cohen, who was arrested for spying for the Soviet Union in the 1950s.
      2-According to Discoverthenetworks.org, “the founders of KSH referred to Joseph Stalin as the ‘Sun of the Nations,’ and a red flag was flown at outdoor events held at the kibbutz. Sanders stayed at KSH as a guest of the Zionist-Marxist youth movement Hashomer Hatzair (HH), which pledged its allegiance to the Soviet Union.”
      3- In 1971, Mr. Sanders joined the Liberty Union Party (LUP), which called for a government takeover of all U.S. banks and private utility companies. In the mid-1970s, Mr. Sanders headed the American People’s History Society, which journalist Paul Sperry describes as “an organ for Marxist propaganda.”
      4-As mayor of Burlington, Vermont, in the 1980s, Mr. Sanders hung a Soviet flag in his office in honor of Burlington’s Soviet sister city, Yaroslavl, where he honeymooned in 1988 with his second wife, Jane O’Meara Sanders.
      -Mr. Sanders set price controls, raised taxes and placed restrictions on the rights of landlords. He named Burlington’s softball team the “People’s Republic of Burlington.” Its minor league baseball team the “Vermont Reds” was a Cincinnati Reds affiliate, so that was just a propitious development for Bernie.
      5-In 1980, he backed for president Socialist Workers Party candidate Andrew Pulley, a Marxist who called for a government takeover of America’s energy industry.
      6-In 1985, Mayor Sanders went to Nicaragua to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Daniel Ortega’s communist Sandinista regime and speak at an anti-American rally. He arranged for Burlington and Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, to be sister cities
      7-When Ortega orchestrated mass arrests of critics and shut down opposition media, Mr. Sanders refused to condemn him, later saying the crackdown “makes sense to me.” He now supports Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, who has turned that once-prosperous country into a communist nightmare.
      8-In 1989, Mr. Sanders addressed the U.S. Peace Council, a Communist Party USA front whose members were committed, according to the FBI, to advancing “the triumph of Soviet power in the U.S.”
      9-In 2011, Mr. Sanders was the first U.S. senator to support the violent Occupy Wall Street movement and opined: “These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger. Who’s the banana republic now?”
      10-When Castro introduce ration cards (meat, 2 ounces daily), and food consumption per person crashed to levels not seen since the 1800s. People were starving to death! During this period of widespread hunger, Bernie Sanders was peddling the myth that hunger was NON-EXISTING in Cuba!!! In 1989, he published a newspaper column claiming that Fidel Castro’s Cuba had “NO HUNGER , is educating all of its children and is providing high quality, free health care.”
      “The revolution (in Cuba) is far deeper and more profound than I had understood it to be"- Bernie Sanders
      The man has a LONG HISTORY of sympathizing with communist regimes and was a member of many communist organizations..
      Bernie Sanders is a communist !!!

Let me tell you that back in 1962 your government had already drafted a plan to hijack passenger planes and crash them into buildings on american soil and blame it on the Cubans. So you see, they are not only capable of doing such atrocity but are also willing to do it to advance their agenda.

      @@juangonzales3059 I'm sure the CIA are capable of anything but on one crucial point your theory falls down. If they wanted to create a false flag attack to justify invading Iraq, why were the vast majority of the hyjackers from Saudi Arabia? More likely the attack was used to justify whatever they wanted it to justify. My personal feeling is the security services are not actually that smart when it comes to false flag operations of this kind and rarely get away with it... Could they have been aware of this attack and allowed it to go ahead for their own political purposes? Thats certainly possible...

      @@chrismalcomson7640 first off they didn't go straight to Iraq, if you remember correctly. The Iraq, thing was a completely different false flag remember? "Weapons of mass destruction " of course there were none. In regard to most of the hijackers being Saudis. Even though most of the hijackers were Saudi, the authorities and the media couldn't stress enough from the beginning that the attacks were perpetrated by the taliban, and led by osama even though most of the hijackers were Saudis, so yea that is strange. I commented on this is why I love Michael Moore. He is willing to say things ppl are thinking but too afraid to say out loud. I went back and watched the whole thing and sobbed. My heart broke seeing this sick first responders are and unable to afford the proper care in the richest country in the world....USA. Then I sobbed at the end seeing the smiles on their faces as they each received the respect of the Cuban fire fighters and got the treatment for free the needed so badly. Come on ppl if Cuba can treat their ppl with pennies. We most definitely can do better in our country. No one should be rationing out there insulin for their diabetes in the US! And for God sake NO first responder should EVER have to beg for proper medical care! We can do better Y'all! It's not me it's us! We all can make a difference if we stand together. Applying that notion to medical care, it is pure nonsense, every major country on earth has state insurance or state, owned medical systems out right, our system - capitalism , ownership by private companies and individuals, has worse outcomes at twice the cost , while still not serving everyone. to insinuate that the state provides less is just a lie. the exact opposite is verifiably true

    • @johaquila
      @johaquila 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The actual cost for the state is of course more than that. Probably at least $5 because of foreign resources needed in the production. In communist countries, prices for essentials are set so as to hit the sweet spot where people can afford them but don't waste them. This is where the taxes and the profits from luxury goods go.
      For comparison: I just googled the price of asthma inhalers in German online pharmacies. The first I found was a 3-pack(!) of Budesonid inhalers for about $70. Although almost everyone here pays at most $7 with a prescription.

      @johaquila 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@JulieN-v4r I am talking about the market prices that you pay in Germany when you are uninsured or for some reason choose not to use your insurance. E.g., if you send me your prescription, I can use it to buy inhalers for you for that price and send them to you in the US. Which is perfectly legal from the German point of view, although the manufacturers probably try to prevent it through contract law somehow and corrupt US politicians have made it illegal to import prescription drugs in this way in order to protect the insane profit margins of the pharmaceutical industry in the US. Otherwise everyone would just order their non-urgent drugs in Canada. Bernie Sanders is planning to make this legal on day 1 of his presidency through an executive action.
      $70 is also the price that those German residents who have private health insurance pay before being reimbursed in full by their insurers.
      Unlike in some other European countries, medicine prices in Germany are defined only by the manufacturers.
      What you probably have in mind when talking about socialism is this: Most German residents have statutory health insurance and pay income-based premiums for that. Like all prescription drugs, they get these particular inhalers free if they are under 18 or poor. They pay about $7 for this particular 3-pack of inhalers as an out-of pocket contribution (similar to a copay, but limited to 10 Euros or 10% of the price of the package of medication, whichever is higher; the sum of all out-of-pocket contributions in a calendar year is limited to 2% of the patient's income).

It is a wonderful country in every way and unless you have been you can not appreciate how you have been lied to. The economic sanctions and the treatment they get internationally is totally unjustifiable. The locals aren't even allowed in the fancy hotels and hospitals. They have to use the "regular" hospitals which are living nightmares. Going to Cuba as a tourist will NOT show you the truth - quite the opposite. Come to Miami and talk to the hundred of thousands of Cubans who risked their lives by fleeing the island on rafts made out of garbage. Go into social media and look for the real footage shot by locals (hidden from the oppressive authorities, of course) of the deplorable conditions inside the hospitals. They look like stuff out of horror movies. The truth is coming out now thanks to social media and cell phones finally spreading throughout the island.

    My mom a middle aged conservative Canadian loves going to Cuba and praises Cuba’s literacy and medical programs and the fact that there are no homeless people or thousands of people out of jobs on the streets like in almost all Latin American countries (even the “successful” ones) She praises the fact that the government makes sure that if you want to work you can, that the old, the sick, disabled, and children are cared for and housed. She doesn’t think Cuba is some utopia but legitimately compares it to other countries in the region she has also been to, she understands it has an authoritarian streak but in the context of 60 years of terrorism and attack by the colossus of the North and with a policy of at least cordial neutrality with its northern neighbour (not partnership as we have with Saudi Arabia, and any number of far more brutal authoritarian government like Modi in India, Erdogan, the Egyptian military junta, etc, etc) that there is a good possibility that the society could open up. The fact that Bernie is being blasted for praising a basic fact contextually understood everywhere else in the world is a symptom of the fact that some people are still dealing with the trauma of 80 years of red scare propaganda and the opportunistic oppo smears of a definitely biased corporate media establishment.

    I think most people who live in civilised societies (free health care) find it hard to understand how Americans have allowed things to come to this. A country that cares so little for the most vulnerable amongst its citizens is not a place I would want to live. I hope Bernie gets in because America deserves better - compassion is a strength not a weakness.

    • @christiangeiselmann
      @christiangeiselmann 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Baa Baa Bathsheba Just a little remark: "free" is not actually a good word for this. Of course, health care costs something. The question is, how are costs covered. And in civilised states, there is a form of insurance that covers everybody's costs. Usually people pay for this insurance proportionally to their income, so rich people pay more, poor people pay less, but quality of service is (ideally) equal. People without income (for a reason) get their insurance fees covered in some way by government.

      I’d gladly pay some extra tax, over the expensive for-profit insurance we have now, to get to see a dr without our copays and ridiculous deductibles.

Thank you Michael Moore for bringing us this story about our supposed enemies. I'm 61. I thought surely we were past hate, prejudice & bigotry but these last 4-5 years have showed how wrong I was. But I still believe in goodness & love & now I'm pretty sire i know how to find it. Thanks again. Blessings to all especially to the kind Cuban ppl who helped some of my fellow Americans.

If they agree on becoming an independent nation, the US should do everything they ask of us to support a smooth transition. In a just world, that's how it would work. Puerto Rico understands their own needs best, and should be treated that way, with respect and dignity. Peace and blessings to you and your family, and to your beautiful jewel of an island. ❤️
