12:46 For new players: replay tracks are often broken / corrupt. Better than they used to be, but still quite unreliable after decades of almost no dev support. Not at all like IL-2 GB replays, which work perfectly almost 100% of the time. They are fun, and if they do work for you, great! But don't count on them to see the actual events that happened every time, and don't panic thinking you did something wrong to cause their failure - it's not your fault.
This has rarely been my experience. Not that it has NEVER happened, but this is not a common experience of mine. If it were that bad, I would not have a TH-cam channel for pure frustration. Luckily, it's rare, and I've had very little problems making cinematics and tutorials from replays over the years. Since the recent improvements to replays, I've yet to have an issue. Maybe some day soon, but not yet.
I believe they have been fixed fairly recently, changing the method of recording from replaying player inputs to saving the location and rotation of objects through time instead now. I've not experienced any issues with track replays recently
@@Darrylx444 As of very recently this is very true for me. Playing in VR saving tracks does not work for me depending on the module i use F18 tracks save fine, Apache no , chinook didnt at first but I found a workaround where after the mission is finished exit VR. once im out of VR then save the track. then back into VR and continue. Like i say this worked for me recording chinook tracks i have no idea why. I still cant get an apache track to save that way. I only fly VR.
I did a Clean install a few days ago, and for some reason the first day all my replay file worked. However, the next day, without any change whatsoever, it stopped working. Now none of my replay file works now. I play mainly on Growling sidewinder server, vanilla install with 0 mods. I wish there was a way to fix it :(
Great video series, I love the new to DCS stuff.
You have the cleanest desktop I've ever seen! Keep 'em coming BD!
