You could get different jaws(if they are available), or you could make new ones, that are taller and you could install them outside(at the ends). That way, you could hold bigger plates.

    Hi Dave
Would you consider doing an update video on how to make a power feed like you have with parts that are available today?
    Cheers

LOL email me privately... I've done many unlisted videos helping people and I would rather not interrupt what I have planed for the next 4 weeks...

Having the same wobble issue with the 4" chuck from LMS. I think they should redesign the plate.

+aspartns Did you get them resolved?

+Dave M They responded and basically told me to plug the holes. A bit disappointing to be honest.

Hello Dave. First let me say I like your videos . I have a question that I can not find any information on, that maybe you can help with. I have the Seig X2 and since new, it cuts out when drilling. doesn't matter how fast I set the speed or feed rate. Small holes under 1/4" sometimes will cut out but usually OK. Even stepping up hole dia. after the 1/4" it cuts out. do you have this problem ?

I've never had the motor stop no matter how much load is on it. That goes for both my HF mills. I do have the belt upgrade and the belt will slip if the spindle stalls. The control board in the mill has an adjustable current limit setting which will remove power from the motor if current gets to high. You may want to research that...

@@TheMiniMachineShop that is the problem I am having is in the research. There just isn't anything out there. Thank you for the reply. I guess I'll just keep looking.

Thanks for aother edjucating video!I have a questiion about the z-movements of my mini mill. Using the speedy 3 handle controll or the fie tuning wheel in the down directiion I experience that firstly nothing happends and then the milling head falls down several millimeters. How is the Z movement supposed to work? Being "hanging up" due to balance and friction and forced down by handles, or should the head be "hanging" on the handles, waiting to be "allowed" to move downwards powered by gravity?i find the same problem with a Micro mill, a PROXXON MF70, but their support could not give a reliable answer.Regards,Stefan

My mill originally used a spring which I've replaced with constant force pistons to control head balancing. In either case the head should be weightless or having a slight force upward. In either case the head should not move all by itself! Ignoring play in the fine or handle the head should move up or down without jumping. Smooth and easy movement. You have something in the head gibs creating high static friction the head should NEVER fall or jump! Understand the difference between static and dynamic friction. Do not use grease motor oil only on all gibs and slides...

The more I think on it there isn't enough upward balance since the head falls. The handle should push the head down.

Thank You more than a lot! If You had been female I would have sent You a hug and a kiss. The support of a certain German company couldn't tell me that, rather the opposite.I see that the bottles in the video are empty. How was the balance of the outhor? Joking! Keep it simple works well quite often.

What was the PWM control that didn't work? Can you put a Warning link in please? Your video went green screen of death while you were explaining it.
