We take victories when we get them, that was one for you Ross. May have taken some time, but you gotter done. Enjoyed watching, I hope you have a good afternoon!
@@rosstheoliverman I have a detach lowboy and several step decks. If you buy the combines and a bunch of stuff, we will get them to you without breaking the bank on trucking. We come your way all the time and I was just in Jeffersonville last week, myself.
If you ever find the time it would be super neat to have an equipment tour of all your stationary engines. I’m assuming you have more than just in the trailer. Thanks!
Hey Ross, nice load off hit and miss engines. I have a couple, but not a large collection like you have. I like to have something for them to run also, burr mill, water pump, or something like that. I'd love to have one of those mini hay presses to use. I have a large gooseneck trailer I built a long time ago. It has triple axles, but not for a house trailer. I had heavy duty lowboy tires on it that lasted a long time, but were weathered to the point I didn't trust them. 2 yrs ago I put new ones on, but I couldn't find anything other than china made. They're not near as good as what I had on it. I just bought another triple axle lowboy trailer that I haven't even gotten home yet. It's the same thing with 8 x 14.5 tires. It has 2 new, and the rest are not so good. So I'm looking for something to buy myself. TSC has something I'd like to see, but they don't stock it. It's Chinese of course also. But I guess I'd better be getting some for it before the prices go way up soon! ☹️
Hey Ross, you must have been having a bad day. You know only had to take out 3 of the wedges to take the rim off. You leave 2 to put the tire back on and it makes it easier to line up.
I was just reading about mobile home axles. I don't remember if you said, but what size are your tires? I read the 14.5" and the brake assemblies are hard to find now. I see lots of trailers outfitted with these axles for sale but I'm leary of them. I want to build a trailer frame and mount a gravity box on it so I can pull it better with the truck. I've got my eye out for axles and have been looking at "cheap" trailers for sale that could be modified for my use or parted out. Of course though, I also want axles that I can get brake parts for, ha ha! On another note, I feel your pain on having too many projects and work and get to feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes you just have to take time for yourself and do something enjoyable to get your mind off everything. I know its hard to do at times, but it definitely helps
Look for early mobile home axles that had Dexter 7,000 lb axles. Brakes and tires abound on Amazon, eBay, etc. MH-rated tires are DOT illegal for highway use on trailers other than MHs. High Way-rated tires like the one Ross put on will pass a DOT inspection. I would recommend the HW-rated tires and a 5th-wheel hitch on your gravity wagon. We sold several new ones like that with center dumps. It seemed like it was a good "Gee, Honey, I need that 1-ton pickup to pull my new 5th wheel grain trailer" excuse. Plus, being the trailers were for farm use only license plates usually were not required.
I don’t know much about those hit miss engines but can you drain all the water out? Since they got rained on could they freeze and crack or do you just add some antifreeze to the water jackets?
I bought 4 legally highway-rated tires, not MH-rated, mounted on new rims from Amazon for less than the local price of 2 tires at my cheapest local tire place. Sorry, you did not get to go to the show and impress the ladies with your single piston large bore and stroke thing. Jack and his Jennies look happy out there with the cows. Bearing buddies are not the great panacea. Of course, now, they have complete hub assemblies not made to repack, just replace. Make friends with some mechanic who does suspension work and you probably can get used hub assemblies that make great small trailer hubs. Who doesn't need multiple small trailers around the place? My 24' trailer is too big for what I need to do now, but my little trailers seem to all have things stored on them. Hauling Clyde, the Power King, or Juliet, the daughter of Ophelia and Herman on the big trailer looks like a semi with a Tonka truck strapped down on it.
I just had like tire on rim had a slow leak new tire l kept blaming the bead then l found the inner place on the rim had a rust hole. Never seen that in. 70 years oh well stuff gets old
Prayers to you and your family, take care Ross.
Good job! Bearing buddies is new to me. Thanks love keep that going to have to find some.
Ross you have all the cool stuff. That trailer full of engines is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Those are great time savers.

Nice video Ross

Does all your hit and miss engines run or some are just static display??

Bidding on any Olivers on the Northern Indiana auction?
I just had like tire on rim had a slow leak new tire l kept blaming the bead then l found the inner place on the rim had a rust hole. Never seen that in. 70 years oh well stuff gets old
They all look mostly treadless and dry rotted, idk why you kept saying it had lots of tread lol
I think you're slipping Ross. That's two recent video's that dealt with tires and no mention of Mike K. in either one!
Hey! I’m about to call ya! Not!!!
Has nobody noticed that old tire is called "HoMaster" or has YT just been hiding all the comments about Ross having HoMaster trouble?
