You've done Roy proud with this one Alan. Really interesting and yet such a sad start to life but he always appeared, like you say, so jovial and happy and enjoyed making other people happy. He had a great gift and talent and shared it. Seemed like such a genuinely nice guy. That church and churchyard was amazing. Absolutely beautiful ... what a spot to be laid to rest. Thanks Alan, another good one!!

Poor guy losing his parents at only 9. But he still succeeded in life and even tho he had a sad childhood he brought laughter to many. Rip Roy 🙏 thanks Alan for sharing his grave and story

An amazing story I heard about Roy (you might tell this as I am typing and watching) is that growing up he was a massive Max Miller fan. loved Roy he was so funny, love this channel too, i have worked in many countries and i have been to some very old graveyards, i like to read the headstone and wonder what lives the people had, try to connect, we are all connected anyway i believe.
Hello Paul, I agree we are not connected when you come down to the fundamentals, but it's such a great pleasure when you think about every one of those stones as such a tale to tell, but when they're celebrities you can look into it which I greatly enjoy. Thank you for the lovely comment. Alan
Hello Diane, absolutely, it's stuck out in my mind as one of the most beautiful. Not very large but very old and made of timber at the fantastic feeling. Thank you, Alan
That's interesting Diane let me know what you think I started a year last June but then I had to have time off at the start of 2022 but I hoping to step up and go abroad next year. If you like anyone or don't like let me know its always good to know . Another exceptional video 📹 👏 The church is without doubt one of the best, outstanding looking building with a massive amount of history. Was you aware that...... While walking up the path towards the church to your right, over the hedgerow is a very large house with quite a large amount of land. This is basically directly opposite the church.... Rod and his wife lived in this wonderful house.... his wife still lives there today. Nice and close to visit her husband ❤️

Interesting video Alan. Always liked Roy Hudd…I don’t consciously go out of my way to watch him on tv, he was just there! A nice cheerful fella with a good sense of humour. Very surprised to learn of the events in his childhood…many kids would be badly scarred as a result but it just show, anyone can overcome difficulties and set-backs given time and support😊 Such a shame that his relatives / friends haven’t sorted out a headstone by now….can’t understand why it would take so long🤔 Hope “you” are keeping well Alan….take care for now❤️🌈

loved Roy he was so funny, love this channel too, i have worked in many countries and i have been to some very old graveyards, i like to read the headstone and wonder what lives the people had, try to connect, we are all connected anyway i believe.
Hello Paul, I agree we are not connected when you come down to the fundamentals, but it's such a great pleasure when you think about every one of those stones as such a tale to tell, but when they're celebrities you can look into it which I greatly enjoy. Thank you for the lovely comment. Alan
Hi Alan another brilliant video he was so jovial you wouldn't guess he had tragic early start to life 👍
Exactly Colin, it was a sharing example of overcoming his circumstances
I remember him on episode of one foot in the grave
What a beautiful church
Roy Hudd was brilliant
Hello Diane, absolutely, it's stuck out in my mind as one of the most beautiful. Not very large but very old and made of timber at the fantastic feeling. Thank you, Alan
Hi Alan just started watching your videos and I’m enjoying them very much
I will get through them all
That's interesting Diane let me know what you think I started a year last June but then I had to have time off at the start of 2022 but I hoping to step up and go abroad next year. If you like anyone or don't like let me know its always good to know . I tend to know the people but I watch documentaries each time and they feel like friends by the time I get there :-) I got to know them more after I made the films because I studied their work and watched more.... Hi Alan I agree with yea that church is so pretty, a lovely place to spend eternity 💖
Beautiful place Tricia. If I could choose that would do for me
What an interesting guy Roy Hudd was. Thanks for making and sharing this video. P.s I agree, the church was beautiful, albeit scary too!!!
Hello early bird, it was supremely beautiful but it was also very remote. I think that's why it felt a little scary... Thank you
I do hope he gets a headstone, so sad not to have one. My hubby died in 2021 but the headstone only went in place in March this year, part of it came from Italy it is so beautiful, one day way way way way in the future I'll be there, LoL
Happy new year to you
🎉.Love your programmes,sense of humour,emotions and enthusiasm

Happy New year! 🎉 Mick and Barb
Another exceptional video 📹 👏
The church is without doubt one of the best, outstanding looking building with a massive amount of history.
Lol ask me I should have asked you. No I'm aware of it now because it's been done by a different channel and she wrote to them. I know he's going to get a headstone which is lovely but big. Thank you for pointing it out Alan
My Dad worked with him for years on The Good Old Days, I have his autograph, lovely lovely man ❤️
I can't believe he hasn't got a headstone 😔
That Church would be ideal for filming a film 👌🏻
Hi Em don't worry, I've found out from one of my subscribers that the film was covered by another channel and I think I'm cracking saying his wife lifts next door and Roy was a big part of the church and they're definitely will have a headstone. I wished I'd known she lived there. Would have asked to speak with her for the film. When the headstones put up? If I can do it I'll go back and film again to update. All the best, Alan
Another great video well researched and well presented.I am so pleased that you were able to show us inside that lovely church as well.
Wasn't it? I love a place. Jacqueline, The area was all together peaceful and thank you for the encouraging comment. Alan
Hi Alan loved roy what legend he was . I thought Roy was a brilliant all rounder.Did you also know he wrote a column in a magazine called yours every week . Until he became too ill bless him thank you Alan regards sharon ❤ xx 🤙🤙
Hello Sharon, I didn't know about the magazine. I've never heard of it but would imagine he was the kind of guy that would make an interesting writer. I know it's a cliche but the world is worst place without his kind. Thank you for telling me 🙂
Thanks for another great video. I always thought he had such a friendly face & I imagined him to be a warm & friendly man. x
Hello Caroline, he's certainly was when you're watching on interviews and I watch some footage of him signing autographs outside the BBC. He was fantastic with the fans. Thank you for the lovely comment Alan
@MotorHome Beep Beep thank you for the reply. I've been watching for a while but have only just started to comment. I love how you reply to everyone & I find it so interesting listening to you tell their story. You really do them proud & if they can hear you I bet they are chuffed to bits. Keep up the good work x
@@carolinechaney3287 When I was very young Caroline, I had problems as do many people we all have a story. I found my degree of freedom through reading psychology and I love to find the positive aspects of life. I don't think celebrities are special, but we have a common connection with them being well-known, so I like to celebrate people's life. I find it interesting to study them and I enjoy it. I do believe we can all make a difference in a good way. Thank you for taking the time to observe and comment I feel touched by your thoughts Alan :-)
@MotorHome Beep Beep I totally get what you mean. As a fully trained councillor, I find people rather wonderful to get to know about them & their lives, its so interesting x
Another great film alan!
Thank you Kay That's kind of you
Thank you Alan informative and entertaining as always. I’m fairly new to your site must say I really like it so interesting keep up the good work.
Hello Mark Thank you for being a newbie. I hope you continue to enjoy. Regards, Alan
Alan you work so hard
Doing all research on these stars and singer I learn lots from your videos
And the wonderful church
Thanks Alan for your valuable information and takin the time and effort for all your videos

Looking very comfortable 🙏👍👍

Hello rum, it's an absolute delight to see your comments. You're so kind. It makes it all worthwhile when people enjoy watching them and they can collectively remember these people. They're all part of our history. Wonderful to see you. Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep same here 🙏🙏👍👍
Loved Roy … never realised he was a water rat just like my hero Oliver Hardy thanks for this heart felt respectable video Alan x
Hello Rowan, yes, I love, Oliver also he was such a sweetie nobody can nobody can beat laurel and hardy Thank you for the lovely comment ☺️
Interesting video Alan. Always liked Roy Hudd…I don’t consciously go out of my way to watch him on tv, he was just there! A nice cheerful fella with a good sense of humour. Very surprised to learn of the events in his childhood…many kids would be badly scarred as a result but it just show, anyone can overcome difficulties and set-backs given time and support😊 Such a shame that his relatives / friends haven’t sorted out a headstone by now….can’t understand why it would take so long🤔 Hope “you” are keeping well Alan….take care for now❤️🌈
Hello Paul, I've been told that I believe his wife live next door and another channel visited and she contacted them to tell them that the headstone is being sorted out. So I thought that would be the case. So that's nice news and thank you for the lovely comment. Much appreciated, Alan
Hello Paul He certainly seemed to overcome his difficulties. He's such a positive attitude. I've since found out that another channel visited the grave and he's been told that there will be a nice headstone there soon when they've worked out the words they wish to place on it. So that's fantastic news. I thought that would be the case. Thank you ever so much for your interesting and inspiring reply. Very kind of you. Alan
Really is a beautiful church
Super beautiful! Thank you for the comment Grave Visitations!
I knew you would sit on that chair 😁
I wish I'd known about the splinter pointing uphill... :-(
Hello Alan a great video to a fantastic person a talented man and so sad about his parents
And yes you are right the church looks fantastic in fact I did not know that Roy had lived there: in fact it's only about 49miles away from were I live in Great Yarmouth so I probably will go and have a visit at the weekend as the church looks stunning keep the brilliant videos coming Alan 👍👍
Hello Karl seeing as you're so close, I'd recommend it for a day. It's such a lovely quiet spot. The same is fantastic. There's a campsite up the road which serves food which is only about one and a half miles away and the church is fantastic. I hope you make it. Alan
Hello Alan
Thanks for that information my wife and I will try to get there this weekend
Kind Regards Karl
Hello Alan just found your channel I Love it 🥰 Thankyou
Hello Mary, I'm so pleased that you're enjoying some of the videos I've done before. Keep in touch and I'll watch out for you. Regards, Alan
Thanks Allan sad losing his parents so young. Shame about the grave only got a wooden cross needs a head stone there.😢 RIP Roy.
It was a lovely guy. Bamboo and I think his wife said to another channel that it will be getting a headstone soon which is lovely
I always remember him in the UK horror film, The Blood Beast Terror.
I remember him on the Quick Brew tea bag adverts in the 70s 😂😊.
Well done Ann. I don't remember
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep I'm probably older than you!😆 but he did a series of them. The bags were known as QB. And he would mention the little perforations in each advert.
great video again alan
Very kind David. See you soon
I'll always remember him as Archie from Coronation Street, when he helped Audrey with trying to convince her daughter Gail that her husband was a murderer!
Another great one Alan, thank you. I have another suggestion if you were interested, I’ve just watched the Joe Meek story again, him of Telstar fame, a troubled life but very innovative producer. I believe he’s buried at Newent Cemetery Gloucester, Cheers Martin
Martin, that's a fantastic suggestion. I had it on my list in the past but I'd forgotten it was wonderfully talented. I'd love to do this one. I'll keep it and try to do it as soon as poss regards Alan
Another good one Alan ❤
Well done Alan loved this vid always on ! ❤
I didn't know at the time Paul that Roy live next door and his wife still is living there and that will be a proper headstone coming soon which will be nice all the best, Alan
Nice church Alan
What a legend. All rounder. Stage. Tv many shows. He was funny. Such a beautiful church and cemetery so quite tranquil and pretty. Thanks for sharing. From Holmfirth West Yorkshire 💙 ps who's are the bikes 😅💙
Hello Gill They're both mine one is a battery bike heavy but easy if you've got hills and the other one is light. Easy to lift on and off and ok on the flat. It was a beautiful spot. Thank you for the comment as always.
Not sure if I dreampt this or not, I'm sure I once saw Roy copying or doing Max Wall's walk on tv
RIP Roy, never to be forgotten
i know he done a Max Miller act
I remember Roy as being a very talented man , not one to get typecast as one particular role ,, very charming church
Wasn't he a super talent Taz I'm so down to earth when you watching on interviews. Lovely guy.
An interesting upload. Thanks.
Lovely area. My partner & I will love to visit. I wonder why his father left & if her suicide had anything to do with that .
Hello David, I can't answer. I've got to be honest it's 18 months since I did the film. I can't remember the details without watching again, but I've heard that he's got a headstone now and his wife lives next door 😁
Hello David with it being 18 months since I did that film, I'm sorry I can't remember the details but I can tell you that he's now got a headstone. His wife lives next door in a beautiful house. Thank you, Alan
How sad that there's no headstone yet. 😒
Hopefully soon
If you visit Roy's resting place now, you'd have a very pleasant surprise.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Feeling sad he’s not memorialised for his comedy
Hope he has a proper memorial now❤
Hello Ann I've read He's now got a nice headstone and his wife is next door in their home 👍
I don't mind if you mispronounce words. We all do. Your vids are a real pleasure.
Thank you very much Elizabeth. I'll do my You best. But you're right, it's the respect and content that matters. I'm glad you enjoy. Take care
Alan, any more thoughts on the Dads Army crew? Martin
The only one I know about is Godfrey. I know the location cos it's been done and Arthur low but it's just exactly as I think of some grass. But yes it would be good. I love the comedy. Worth checking it out. If you know anything let me know. Martin
i understand his son is buried next to him
I'll have to go back and re-examine. I didn't realise that I didn't notice the same name
Poor Grave why are English Stars graves so poor compared to American ones.
Hello alan Mick Ronson is buried in hull he is known for spiders from mars if you go to his grave we could meet up for a coffee if you would like to best wishes from sue and vic
Hello Sue and Mick, That sounds a great idea. I'll keep that on my to do list And I could give you some warning so that it's a good day for us all. Thank you for that

@@MotorHomeBeepBeep Lovely Video. Thank You.
It seems so inconspicuousness and low key for such a great Man.
