To your point about the representation of black women in the show, there’s actually a creator commentary you can find on here TH-cam where they explain why. You can just type in “Why there aren’t any black women on the Boondocks” You’re better off watching it on your own and making your own judgements, but the gist of it is they said it’s because they didn’t think black women would be accepting of the satirical lens they’d be put through, as the Boondocks can admittedly be pretty harsh.
Yeah, I've seen that clip before, but I hate that opinion so much that I didn't even bother bringing it up on the video lol. They're not wrong in that Black women can be very sensitive about media that depicts them in a negative light, but if they made a black female character and gave her the same respect they give Granddad l, Huey, or Riley, I still think most black women would be able to laugh at it without getting offended. That's just how I feel though
@@chillreview636 Yeah I can understand that, it really is a kind of a disappointing thing to hear from them. While I do think there’s a lot of merit to them being concerned about black women’s sensitivity to this topic, just avoiding it altogether really doesn’t seem like a very “Boondocks” thing to do. Yes you’re an offensive show, but many of your fans have the trust in you that your criticism is genuine and well-meaning and that you offend with a purpose. They were bold enough to say everything else, so just avoiding this topic outright just feels like a cop out. Great series btw 👌🏾
Aaron can be a little misogynistic which is why he said what he said about reasons why black women aren't the main or supporting cast on The Boondocks. Only one Black woman in this show (Ebony Brown) wasn't a stereotype of a black woman. The only women in the show that are shown to have flaws are just Jazmine and Sarah. But the thing is, Sarah is white and Jazmine is mixed. Well, since Jazmine is still black despite being mixed, I'd say both Jazmine and Ebony are the only two black women who weren't treated like shit. It's OK to criticize people, but I think Aaron had fun poking fun of Black women more since he's the main writer.@@gmarlon61

The wild difference is that whereas Riley closed off the deal between him and the British sparking a giant firefight killing almost everybody and ending the plot, the group did take the deal which kinda began the whole movie and downhill of events. @@Tacom4ster lofi hip hop and metal might be the most opposite genres of music to enjoy lol, but as a hip hop head who loves Metallica I salute you 🫡
@@chillreview636 Also Im a petty Megadeth fanboy that constantly reminds people Megadeth is the better Thrash metal band :P
@@Tacom4ster Hahaha I couldn't disagree more, but I will say that Mustaine is an amazing guitar player
Aye man just wanna say these videos have been really good we appreciate the effort that goes into these videos and I feel like you should make more content like this video but on other shows. I understand that these videos take awhile to produce but I feel as though that it will be worth while. Like I would love to see a video similar to this style interpreting an amazing anime like Akudama drive or cyberpunk ederunners
Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words. For the sake of my sanity I try to keep long form vids to a minimum, but I might end up making some more when I get more time. And I've never watched Akudama Drive but I've heard good things. I actually just started Edge runners recently. It's pretty great so far
I still re-watch the Hateocracy episdoe every once in a while, the fight scenes were cool and animations and transitions reminded me of Naruto. Still reference the crabs in the bucket scene to this day.
Definitely one of the stand out episodes.
Screw Season 4, this is where "The Boondocks" ends.
FACTS!!!!
There’s never been a show like The Boondocks, and there probably never will be.
Watching your videos.... I can name the voice actors now. It's actually crazy I never noticed.
I love Mr. Medicinal it's 🔥🔥🔥 my boy you trippin fr
Man, you're like the 17000th person to say this to me 😂. It's cool though. At this point I just have to respect y'all opinions and admit that I'm in the minority on this one
Oh yeah the johnny rebel episode is on vimeo
Oh damn S/o to vimeo
The gay/trans community is also guilty of crab bucketing itself a lot. Especially in the music scene.
For me this is the best season. I understand most people will pick season 1 or 2. For me it would be 3, 1, 2, (4). Obviously s4 s*cks for the most part..
Interesting. Don't see too many people who put season 3 at the top but I respect the opinion ✊🏾
Can we get a chill retrospect on Black Dynamite? the show that was in a way used to replace the boondocks when it ended
I would love to, but ove only seen a handful of episodes of it. Gotta go back watch the whole series first
Black Dynamite 🧨
u had to be sober watching Mr Medicinal to not like it. That one was for the Stoners😆😆
Stone cold sober 😂😂. I've accepted that the episode just ain't meant for me. I'll let the stoners have that one lol
@chillreview636 can you also make a video about how many fans of The Boondocks consider the episode "It's Goin' Down" to be the true series finale instead of "The New Black" please?
I cover that a little bit in my season 4 video
Respect 🇯🇲 Breddrin

You’re wrong about the weed episode
What about the episode do you like?
@@chillreview636 the comedy it wasn’t the funniest boondocks episodes but it holds up. And the parts when grand dad was getting high was funny.
Obama water !! Change the way you hydrate lmaooo
👍
🔥🔥
I wanna see usher do the let it burn dance from the boondocks at the superbowl
If he was a real man he would
Labeling children as unarmed combatants and drone strikes are what I think about Obama. Love your videos man!
😬😬😬 I can't believe I forgot about the unarmed combatants thing. Thanks for showing love though!
John Witherspoon and Charlie are irreplaceable.😢 even if Aaron and Carl were to patch things up it just are work.
Man.... watching that DJ vlad interview with Carl Jones about him and Aaron not speaking for like a decade hit me hard 😔
@@chillreview636 yeah man really sad. Just goes to show that two greats in one room not always a good thing.
Real 1s only watch the first 3 seasons 💯
THE HUEY CHARACTER IS BASED OFF MY LIKENESS IN REAL LIFE, "NO 🧢"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't prove what you're saying is wrong, so I guess I gotta believe it 😂😂
@@chillreview636 You better believe it, "aint no way out of that satam system for you, or anybody, and thanks to me all of you zombies will be taking a trip real soon💯"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure I'd call season 2 a filler season, since I think it has more episodes adapted almost directly from the comic than the others
The main reason I call it a filler season is because Huey is the main character of the shoe, uet there's only 1 episode that actually features him as the main focus
@@chillreview636 I think the original plan was to introduce Caesar (from the comic) in that season, but then all the episodes he was supposed to be in were scrapped after Aaron McGruder couldn't find a voice actor that fit how the character was supposed to sound. Pretty sure those episodes were going to give Huey a much more central role. I think the BET plot was also supposed to be more than two episodes.
@@taylorkohls5268 That makes a lot of sense. I'm so used to the version of the show that we got, I can't even really think of how Caesar would fit into the cast, but it def would have been interesting to see.
@@chillreview636 considering just how much they changed Cindy from her comic counterpart, I really wanted to see how the show would handle Caesar
Did I hear some Sonic Adventure 2 music?
Honestly not sure 😅. Never really played Sonic ourside of a random Sonic Heroes demo I had as a kid. Give me a time stamp and I'll try to find out
i like how everyboy writes off season 4 as if it doesn't exists
I remember being a silly small child in 08 telling my mom to vote for obummer thankfully she already disliked some stuff he said and did so she tossed her vote away on sarah palin 😂
theres no way, literally right after you mentioned the colour purple, there was an add for te colour purple part 2😭
Hahahahaha everything is connected!!
Mr medicinal definitely ain’t the worst prolly one of the best, the episode you spoke on before that one the worst
I've come to accept that I'm in the minority on Mr. Medicial, but I stand on my opinion damn it 😂
Anybody could just make their own version of it if they miss it so much
They did... It's called season 4 lol
What's ehh supposed to mean
You should review Tokyo Godfather. A Christmas anime movie. Great film but is pretty underrated if you ask me.
Interesting. Never heard of it, but now it's on my list. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@chillreview636 Very rare film because there really isn’t that many Christmas anime movies out there. I can’t even really name any. It has that 90s early 2000s cowboy bebop animation cozy feeling style with good storytelling and great characters.
Is there... a season 2 video? Do i smoke too much?
Yes... and probably also yes th-cam.com/video/FGySIo_9vBE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=r21TvBi4bw4s5R2k

That's not JJ it's Don Bexley who played Bubba on Sandford and son

No problem bro and your work is amazing
PLEASE DO BLACK DYNAMITE PLEASE
I gotta go back and watch it all first lol. Slightly ashamed to say that I've only ever seen a few episodes of it. But what I saw was great
@@chillreview636 It’s a great show that is similar in some ways, I would definitely tune in!
Lowkey don’t think season 3 has a single bad episode or one that drags. 1,2, and 3 are all different but good for their own reasons
Overall I think season 3 is great, but as much as I try, I just can't get into those episodes in the mid-point. But I can definitely respect that other people like them
6:15 the obama hype got a lot of my fellow white lib/lefty friends suckered in too :(
Daddy’s little girl was a good Tyler Perry movie but Idris Elba was in it 🤷🏽♂️
Maybe I missed it but the whole thing with Obama was that when asked about Huey, he said: F*ck him. Immediately, Huey was done with him.
That is true, but Huey represents the creator of the show, and his feelings about the world. So in a way, the whole episode is about him feeling Like Obama kind said "Fuck em" to himself and the whole black community. That's what I got from it anyway
@@chillreview636 interesting. I understand that perspective.
My nigga you really not gone explain why you think Mr medicinal is bad episode. In my Riley voice. "This some old bullshit"😂😂😂
Lol I feel like I explained it enough in this video and my tier list video, but basically I just dont think it's that funny, I don't think there's any strong message, and the whole episode just feels kinda boring and unnecessary. Smokers love it though, so *shurgs*
