  • Is the Xbox Elite Controller II worth it in 2023? To me, YES! It has helped my gaming experience while playing Call of Duty. It did take a few days to getting use to, but so far I love it and have no complaints. Let me know what your favorite feature of the control is in the comments. Mine is the rechargeable battery, so practical and functional.
    Thanks for watching, Orlando!

    My only concern is with quality control. I heard many people had problems with this controller either being broken right out of the box or breaking within a few days of use.

      I have the opposite of those as well, some have ones that break quickly whilst overs last for years.

      @h0lysp4nk ปีที่แล้ว

      It's really random. The first one I had lasted my around a year, second one 6 months and most recently I've sent two back due to stick drift out the box. Ordered a Scuf instead and have had no problems with it whatsoever.

    • @Schinkeldink
      @Schinkeldink ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A thing to keep in mind is that people who had problems with quality are way more vocal about it than those where everything is just fine. I never experienced stick drift and so never talk about it

      @@h0lysp4nk thank you man, this is what i was looking for in the review, last one i bought made it 2 weeks before that left stick broke. i dont want to invest in another one if its just going to break again. my astro c40 just went out so im in the market yet again.... guess im going to pass on this crap controller, what a shame it would be the best if it did not break.

      Yeah QC sucks the rubber on mine started to peel off and the right bumper is sticky, it's not under warranty anymore so I'll have to fix it myself with Extremerate replacements.
      A better idea would be to just buy the regular or limited editions ( 20 years, Stormcloud Vapor, Stellar Shift [...] )

    Using a taller dome stick on the right stick really does help with aiming. It's a bit weird at first but after a couple sessions you'll notice how much easier it is to aim. This has to do with the angles the tall dome let's you get which allows for smaller adjustments when aiming helping precision.

    I would definitely agree that this controller made me better in FPS games. Personally I messed around with the analog profiles and I use the delayed profile on my right analog and it feels even better as those finer movements are easier to maintain. Definitely spend time seeing if something works for you.
    Just love the amount of customizability the controller has.

    Does your show fully charge on xbox or in medium after charge.
    and with a dock can you keep it charging or just after each play.

    Is there a way on this controller to adjust stick and trigger sensitivity? I just started playing the Java edition of Minecraft which doesn't have native controller support. The work around for that is a mod called "Controllable". Using a stock X-Box controller I have been able to play this version. The problem I'm having is over sensitivity on the left thumb stick (steering boat can make one seasick) and the left trigger placing blocks (I need one - controller, here's two) can be challenging. Turning mouse sensitivity down in game options help a little but not much.
    I do like the finger triggers on the back. This will allow more keybinds like the F3 debug screen in Minecraft Java edition. If I can adjust stick and trigger sensitivity through my PC than I will most likely buy this controller. There should be an app or mod to do this as both the X-Box and my Windows software are made by the same company.

    • @functionaltech
      @functionaltech  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can adjust the sensitivity on the Xbox, but I am not sure the settings stay when playing on a PC. I would totally TH-cam this haha. There has to be a way for PC.

      @@functionaltech Thanks. I'm 65 and have played video games since 1987 (NES and the Legend of Zelda). Just started PC gaming and have discovered that I basically suck at WASD. I suppose with enough practice I'll get better at it. Still thinking about buying the X-Box controller that you covered. I really like the added four finger triggers on the back. I could probably rebind one of those for placing things as they probably have less travel than the left trigger.

    This controller is just great it has everything to be the ultimate controller but there is always the stick drift problem that makes it inconvenient to buy one of these to only last a few months or less.

    • @functionaltech
      @functionaltech  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard about the stick drift issues. My brother did have a right bumper problem on the 1st gen within the first 6 months. Microsoft sent him a new controller under warranty. So this was good. But I can see it being a pain and annoyance if it is out of warranty.

  • @AlzheimersCaretaker

    this is a short lifespan controller. the rubberized grips had peeled off and the structure underneath started breaking apart because its such thin flimsy plastic. i got a little over 2 years out of that controller before it was more electrical tape than controller. i loved it while it lasted though, nice and heavy, felt great in my hands. and never developed any stick drift. but the whole controller falling apart thing is a deal breaker and ill never buy another controller with rubberized grips

  • @daltonburroughs3811

    I would say the Scuf Instinct Pro is the best pro controller out there mainly due to how great the hair triggers are on it. The Elite 2 is more affordable tho.

    • @functionaltech
      @functionaltech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That controller really has my attention. Maybe I'll pick it up to test myself. I'm just an average gamer playing 2-3 times a week.

    • @daltonburroughs3811
      @daltonburroughs3811 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@functionaltech same here, for me it is my only pro controller so it was worth it. I was upgrading from the Scuf Prestige (which has pretty bad trigger stops) but if I already had an Elite 2 I probably wouldn't get the Instinct Pro.
      But going from nothing I would pick the Instinct Pro every time just for the triggers. I have used my cousins Elite 2 and for build materials it feels higher quality than the Instinct Pro but I think the Instinct Pro's triggers are unrivaled.
      On top of that I actually prefer to not have a built in battery as I can just swap out rechargeable batteries with the Instinct Pro instead of having to plug it in like the Elite 2.

    Nice video! Just a few extra questions. Does it vibrate, can it connect to an Android phone like the S22 Ultra, and can you access all the settings to it on an Android?👍

    • @functionaltech
      @functionaltech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too sure if you can connect it to the Android phone, but Xbox controllers are mostly universal. I am sure there must be a video on here on YT about this that can help.

    Dome sticks are always the best cause they give you the most grip, accuracy and overall control cause its an even surface area so no matter how you hold it you will have full control.....Using the other thumbsticks that look like bowls make no sense, they dont even make sense scientifically, they are horrendous for anything

  • @stevej9636

    has the left stick crapped out yet and started to drift? my 2nd one lasted 2 weeks before it broke so i want to know if they have fixed the problem before i invest yet again into a control that wont last 2 weeks...... i dont trust these controllers....

    This is really the best XB controller in the market in terms of functionality. However it is not worth the money because the lifespan is terrible. I've had 2 and each has had to be repaired multiple times for the same reason, ie the bumpers which are typically used for melee and grenades break frequently. Opening up the controller you'll see the unbelievably poor and low quality bumper construction and components which is starkly inferior to the rest of the controller which is generally excellent.

    The controller is very good brand new, but I advise noone to buy it as the durability is terrible, I've had 3 that have all broke with similar issues. Friends with the controllers have also reported the same problems, do yourself a favour and look for a different premium controller
