  • Old news report from 2011/12 detailing the Virgin Media/BT cabling dispute in Milton Keynes. BBC OWNS THE CONTENT. I DO NOT OWN ANY CONTENT IN THIS VIDEO. UPLOADED FOR HISTORICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES
Uploaded for historical, educational and informational purposes as use of Analogue Cable is being reduced worldwide. Video features a General Instrument CFT-2100 cable box being used. These systems were very popular in the UK from 1996-2002 before the roll-out of Digital Cable, which among other things gave you an EPG and let you browse the web, play games and send/receive emails from your TV (which I did a lot).

@@rw2334 - It wasn't my box, it was loaned it to me so I could do the piece to camera. BBC news found me because I had a website explaining the history behind the MK Cable network.

What was the outcome? i would imagine after DSO, the analogue cable system required converters to convert the digital signals back to analogue?

No it didn’t it’s not the same as terrestrial. Virgin Media closed it down anyway. BT left people in the lurch as usual
