Why can't they just use Clear-QAM, it isn't encrypted so pretty much every TV sold in the past quite a few years can view them without any converter box, what, do you not want people stealing cable.
that or they just want money from every TV you hook up. it used to be you could hook as many TVs up as you wanted for 1 fee but sadly cable companies got greedy
They also have ClearQAM on every cable TVs in some hotels. I used MyGica A682 ATSC / Clear QAM receiver. I selected USA, then Clear QAM, some of it’s channels worked and some are “This Is Encryption”. Wow. Clear QAM 256 on DVB-C J.83B.
First analog tv, which is far better than digital tv, Then analog cable which is better than digital tv.

They should have smartcard adapter dor QAM cable TV.
