- The First Descendant is a new Looter shooter from Nexon. It has a lot of great movement but not much else on release in my opinion. In it's current state I wouldn't recommend it, though if it gets strong updates in the future it may have potential. I'd sooner recommend The Division 2, Destiny 2, or Warframe over this game in it's current state.
Thumbnail is rage bait and the game is not the worst I've played, though it isn't amazing by any means. The first impression was definitely dog water I'll be real, but it's not like Warframe's start was top notch either. There is definitely potential here and I'll keep my eye on it in the future. Maybe I'll even give it a second chance. Though as of right now, it feels like a worse version of Warframe and I can't ignore that lol.
Who knows, maybe they will update the game enough to make it better than Warframe, only time will tell.

It's all just set dressing, no mechanical depth, no AI depth, no depth in customization. As soon as the "Bunny hot, look at camel toe" magic wears off, this game's going to drop off hard.

Warframe is still so much better than TFD, though i keep playing TFD mostly because I've played WF for 10ish years and TFD is new.
The monetization is horrible in comparison though, so i keep thinking "I could be playing WF right now".
Oh, and the story... i ended skipping ALL the story. It's not bad, just... i don't know... feels off. Plus some of the voice acting sounds like AI.
TFD is better because it doesnt force you to play with 4 players to unlock the relic with item you want...if you live in SEA region, warframe is totally dead
@@sussy_61that's not true at all. I am from asia. I get players from Philippines, japan, thailand, china. Even India. Maybe your internet connection is bad giving you high pings with others.

I have to skip all the cutscenes because the game almost always crashes during them.
I don't wanna hate on it and I haven't even started playing yet. I keep hearing it being compared to Warframe and I understand why but have feeling Warframe is still king. One major feature I love about WF is melee weapons and super abilities space ninja vibe! The movement looks satisfying but WF movement is amazing. I'll eventually run it but for now WF got me locked in and I'm starting to think maybe comparing it to WF isn't accurate at all.
You can have some fun if you turn your brain off and treat it as a one time single player game. But once you hit a wall quit it. Seriously quit it. The grind will kill your soul. Unless you are ofcourse filthy rich.

For me the only reason I’m currently enjoying TFD is because it doesn’t feel overwhelming when I first played Warframe back in 2020 but damn does TFD feels boring as hell in some areas.
I've tried TFD today and CPU temp went up to 80°C as soon as it loaded to menu, went up to 95°C in Albion. It's so badly optimized, I definitely stop playing that game

Game is ok but damn. Enemies have no real difficulty. At least Warframe has an absurd diverse quantity of enemies. Different resistances, weaknesses. To a certain extent TLD has this but the AI is so bad it's not even funny. They just track you constantly.

I'm honestly tired of seeing people hailing this dumpster fire as 'AMAZING!' Destiny 2 is still (unfortunately) leagues better. The devs of this game practically pulled an anthem. The 'beta' was basically the full game, and practically NOTHING was changed on launch.
Bosses are still incredibly boring bullet sponges with little to no difference between each in how they feel to fight, especially the giant mountable ones. A majority of the characters feel INCREDIBLY mid. Enemies all mindlessly rush you (regardless of what weapon they have). There are only 3 mission types, and the story is less coherent than Destiny 2 lore!
People need to stop hailing slop like this, suicide squad, or gotham knights as amazing, or they'll keep producing slop regardless of whether or not they go out of businesses

enemy AI, yea, people give shit about Warframe because you can clear a room in less than a second but the enemies do have engaging AI. eg:their melee enemies PREDICT your movement, if you are sprinting at them, they start their attack animation early to catch you. 1st time you get knocked down by them, felt like it was luck but nah.
The looter-shooters that fail all had terrible AI
This game is warframe without the last decade of content and polish, and without the cripsy movement and melee.
nearly a decade later though, at least they have an better engine to work with
And 20 times the system load for only a fraction of the detail in Warframe at Low Settings
Getting a ultimate descendent will take a decade to get unlike Warframe that will probably take a few hours and to even buy the ultimates is $100 that is not even worth it for the descendent and the skin
😂lol forreal there's people in comments saying ohh it's soo easy to farm nah lies you bought it 100% the game feels like a mobile game imported to pc and consoles feels way to sluggish compared to other games showing similar gameplay
people on reddit already have posted getting ultimate heroes just by regular grinding. And its a lot easier than it looks considering the game tells you exactly where to get the parts needed

games like this always have a barebones launch warframe was not diferent, give it a year to see how Nexon supports the game in the long term
If Nexon supports this long term I can see it being more fun, though just like Warframe this game will need forever updates to stay relevant

@@ghostwindsamurai warframe doesnt even have competition and will be relevant for ages. the "but game x was bad too at launch excuse is stupid" warframe came out over a decade ago and if game studios cant start from where warframe or similar games are now thats just because they are just greedy and dont want to put any effort in the product, stop excusing these trash games like that. TFD is a worse outriders with almost copy paste sytems from warframe but done poorly, its a korean game so the only thing these games need are titts, no game depth,terrible and clunky in all aspects, i dont see TFD in the future they would have to redoo the whole game tbh.
@@PsYcO9iKiLl9YaH Indeed it's a stupid excuse (kinda copium fueled). This game came out in 2024, therefore it competes with today's Warframe/Destiny 2/etc, not 2013's Warframe or 2017's Destiny 2 (funnily enough they kinda copied the ammo system from the release version of it so snipers and shotguns use high-power ammo). The mod system doesn't seem to be that well thought out, initially it looks like you have more mod capacity than the usual gear in warframe, then reality hits: you cannot equip 2 mods from the same category, the mods costs lot more points than their warframe equivalent which makes it even more restricting (feels like you have to "forma" everything 5-7 times to use all slots otherwise you will be running around unused slots or weaker mods), upgrading them also costs lot more resources. Additionally the price gauging is ridiculous (at least compared to average western games), in warframe the smallest platinum bundle costs 4,50€ from which you can buy 3 reactors/catalysts to boost frame/weapon mod capacity if you want to take a shortcut (or throw some money to the developers), here 5€ gets you 250 caliber, but a crystallization catalyst costs 300...

The biggest thing holding this game back is
1. the bad AI which hey WF started out this way and occasionally you still see the speghetti code.
2. The gatcha game systems of hey look at these cool characters wouldn't you like to customize them well you better buy a skin and then you better buy some single use colors and if you grind em you better hope you get what you want.
3. The rather bland generic story it has cool elements but nothing makes me go i HAVE TO FIGHT FOR THIS CAUSE OR HUMANITY IS LOST!!!
4. The devs have a known history for dropping titles getting whatever money they can within a year or 2 thrn just dropping it whereas DE are known for their consistent updates over 11 years.

I tried it on console and aiming feels bad like im fighting to stay on target.I just downloaded warframe and aiming is spot on loving it so far even though I have no clue what im doing.

@@lukeGGlee play gears of war, even as over the top as it is the guns feel like they have weight to them, when you shoot the boomshot, it feels like you just shot a fucking BOOM shot. It being 3rd person isn't an excuse for the game feeling weightless

The only way I can describe this game after playing it myself is if you took warframe, destiny and some other game I can’t recall and throw them into a blender but then remove all the good components.
I might be a bit harsh but why would I play this if I have better experiences in the one I already play? (warframe)

Ngl, i quit after 30 minutes when i got to the hub city.
For 1 my PC was making noises akin to a fighter jet's emgine for some reason (it might have been due to the game but it still presisted until i restarted my pc so who knows)
Second reason is funnily enough, the movement. Everyone is talking about how nice the movement is but all i felt was that im too slow and bulky, like I couldn't move how i want but how the game wants.
If the players stop simping you realize the shallowness of the game instantly. At least its free so you can try it anytime if you want.
My friend crashes everytime he talks to the guide n she turns her head I can’t login for 2 hrs everytime they add an update but they just fixed helmets not showing randomly they definitely are only in it for the money they would rather fix paid for content then make the game playable🤦🏾♂️👎🏾

Game companies don't care about previous games.
Heck, Blizzard's own Diablo franchise didn't learn from itself. D3 has loadouts, pets to pick up junk, and a slew of items to build around. When D4 launched we expected more of that plus some, and we got no loadouts for a system that DESPERATELY needs them, pets almost 1 year after launch and a reworked item system that is more fun than launch, less fun than D3.
You want to talk about game companies learning from each other, when they barely learn from themselves.
Also, Warframe launched in 2013.

I don't know, i played warframe soo much at a point that the grinding becomes abusive and Boring, i'm enjoying that game right now, Warframe needed a lot of time to have a real bunch of Diverse content to begin with too
@@vitorribeiro796 Numbers were crunched by the community and TFD grind is not only slower, but costs more if you opt to spend money on equivalents as well. You may have progressed far enough in Warframe that the Tenno looter shooter grind started feeling dull and you may want something different to grind (even though warframe has infinitely more classes, weapon types, customization, movement options etc). But I can still understand the want to simply play another experience. Regardless of which is "better" , I don't excuse Nexon for releasing this game in the state they did, so dull, stale and lifeless from a company worth over 16 billion dollars, hopefully in a year or two they fix/improve it heavily instead of money heisting the players as usual 😂. They don't have the best reputation unfortunately

I only use this game to pick which character to look up on R34. Or if im tired and need something slow and boring to get me relaxed. Which usually fails because I watch Bunnys thick juicy bubble butt bounce on my screen for 2 hours, and I turn into spiderman spewing webs
ngl but i feel like this game will fail not because it's nexon (tho it can be a reason further down the line) but because warframe exist. Tfd is basically in the state were wf was back 11 years ago in the sense of content. Unless nexon starts to throw shit at the wall like DE has done with wf but in a shorter amount of time, the game is gonna start to die pretty soon. rn it's surviving from "aesthetics" alone.

Warframe was good free game. Turned into a grind. And Soulframe hasnt really had any progression in development

To me first descendant has better gunplay than warframe and I like the drops because in warframe you have to do so much shit to get new weapons
@@JaydonTanner l found the gunplay to be similar, but a little bloomy when playing TFD. I agree with the Warframe grind part it definitely takes too long to build farmed gear in Warframe. The grapple hook is great but overall the parkour in Warframe brings better action when shooting for me. The First Descendant definitely has potential though

It's been almost a year since they did the open beta back in September, and they changed NOTHING. 1 year later, this slop will still be as bland as the shit you'd see in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares
Finished the terrible story andball bosses ... and it's over dead replayability is not worth it... Andnthe biss fights are just lackluster after once or twice ..getting new characters isnt worth it becuse no replayability just a bland world and repetitive in a bad way

We're talking about Nexon here, if they actually plan to have a solid timeline of updates and don't fumble along the way. we'll see. but then again, Nexon doesn't really have a good track record of keeping their games up if it doesn't go their way.

Warframe is not a great game either. It's plenty buggy (Jade Shadow's just released and there were TONS of game breaking bugs in it), the story was interesting until it just turned into an overly complex time traveling game, and the gameplay loop is mind numbingly dull.
Any game that tries to be like Warframe is setting themselves up for failure. We need games to be better than Warframe. Which shouldn't be hard to accomplish.
I agree that more games should try to be better than Warframe and that this game feels too similar with less to offer (as it just released). With updates it may be more fun but it will forever need updates to be considered fun just like Warframe does. I see why digital extremes started making soulframe lol
Unfortunately, it is hard to outdo Warframe, because Warframe has potential. It's had potential for years, but DE has never acted on it. As soon as Warframe becomes the game about space ninjas again, other games will struggle to meet or beat it simply because the game they have and concepts for the Warframes themselves are great. Ain't too many games that let you freely swap between classes anymore, most want you to level a completely new character just so they can sell you a campaign skip or whatever, or worse, lock your account to one specific class/gender just to force you to pay for more accounts (Yes, this was actually a thing back in the day). I think the last game that tried this was Blade and Soul, but quickly dropped the whole "Good and Evil" stuff when it left Korea, but NCSoft in their infinite wisdom still decided to make the game grindy enough to "entice" players to purchase skips and such.
The only way Warframe will ever reach it's full potential is if a true competitor comes along. And, I highly doubt that's going to happen in todays world. Most studios and devs are more concerned about checking boxes to appease critics instead of making a game that's fun for players.
I actually really like warframe story. It feels like it has depth instead of "we are good and these guys are evil just because" everyone has at least some motivation and no one is black and white. I love when villain changes sides or helps you for his own good. I hate stories when there is evil villain that is evil for the sake of being evil and you are this hero that can do anything. Destiny has also similar problem. World and lore of destiny are really good and interesting but in game story is just "we are good and they are bad" But still better than tfd. Because in tfd even world isnt interesting Its all just bland. No one tells you who the bad guys are and why they are bad. Bad guys act like mustache twirling villains from bad cartoons. Characters are just not interesting at all. Ofc its just my opinion but warframe is better of the 3. Tho destiny isnt bad it just has more apparent issues

I like warframe for the movement and the way to play... Of coure, there is always a sweatlord that says "it should be like these like this youtuber did"
I know that Warframe still has potential to grow more, and the lack of a decent competitor is lacking from a long time, since Destiny 2 is in a micro transaction hell and decided to delete their best expansion because they "overdeliver"
And probably this game will not be a good competitor either, warframe has been for 11 years, they changed a lot of the game and Jade's Shadows, they fixed a lot of bugs in a couple of days, not a big deal on that
