hello good people, I own & operate a power/sailboat and aircraft charter service, out of Manchester, Massachusetts in Summer and out of Trinidad /Tobago in Winter and grew up commercially fishing. I have seen COUNTLESS whales. Regardless, they NEVER cease to amaze me! Your talent and efforts are fantastic and SOOO appreciated!! Thank-you, you definitely made my day!
Very usable footage from the Phantom 3 Platform. Light bridge (the connection between remote/aircraft) is the real hero though. Incredible range that allows most of these shots to be filmed from shore.

This my second comment and it ain't gonna be different than the first one : I don't have enough words in my vocabulary to Thank You properly for Your effort and the quality time of Yours that You've spent in order to make and to give us all this out of this world GIFT/VIDEO... No matter how many times I'm watching it - it always takes me to another and a different DIMENSION. Thanks for having You mate!!!
So awesome.. That's got to be so amazing just to be around those beautiful creatures! For those of us who never get to see that, thank you so much for sharing! I live on the Gulf coast, right between Galveston/Houston Texas area and Lake Charles Louisiana. So we don't get much here, maybe some dolphins, but the water is so brown, you don't see anything unless it's outside of the water, or if they are right there by the boats. We did actually have a whale wash up on Galveston Island a few months ago, sadly didn't make it though!
absolutely beautiful! Already think cetaceans (whales, dolphins) are divine creatures, but to be approached by them while on the water would feel miraculous. (yes there is potential danger with whales as inquisitors of tiny humans but for such enormous beings they are surprisingly graceful and exhibit a careful precision.)
Had to make a second comment. It amazes me constantly to see these huge, magnificent mammals so close to people and small watercraft on the oceans and how close they come to said people, how easily it would be for them to overturn a boat and yet - they never do. At one point in your awesome video, you can see the humpback clearly seeing the canoe and going further under to avoid hitting it. At least I saw that. I also noted something fascinating between the interaction of the dolphins and whales. At times it appeared they were playing a game of tag, the humpback would get close and seemingly touch the tale of the dolphin with his mouth and the dolphin would swim further. Also noted that the dolphins almost always seemed to be in front of the whales and on most sides. I have to wonder if they're on the watch for great whites knowing that calves are in the water. Just a thought.
Awesome video!! Thank you for sharing! We just wen to Hawaii and went on a tour boat for humpback whale watching and didn't see hardly anything. Your video captured what we wanted to see...
+uheheu It was *PERFECT*. Also I just about yelled in glee when it looks like the two whales high five each other around :55. Brought back so many happy memories of the Islands. Thank you!!
Nice video! Whale watching tours should all invest in drones. Imagine being able to have a guy with a drone doing aerial sweeps to make it easier to find whales/dolphins, etc. On a side note, someone needs to make aquatic drones.
Hi @uheheu! This footage is amazing. May I use some of it for a video I'm making? (just the footage, without the music). The video discusses some of the threats whales face from becoming tangled in fishing lines, and how we can address this issue. You would be credited at the end of the video, or (if you want) in a caption when your video is shown.
I stay high enough up to be out of audible range, but I cannot say for sure. I did not see any change in behavior when I came from 200 feet up to around 75 feet though.
+uheheu You are an intelligent, beautiful, well respected and well liked person and may whichever deity you believe in, repay you for your service to this world. Or in simpler terms, "Thanks!!!" :-)
I think I would have preferred hearing the water. Normally all I hear is that kind of music, or documentaries speaking over the waves. I'd love to hear the water splash with them!
Hello Uheheu! I do consider myself extremely lucky to have been all around the world - and I mean that! I'm not a church going man and what I've seen around the world, made question the existence of GOD - I apologise and didn't meant any offence towards anyone who believes in GOD - and even though it may forever be obscure to me, there is something spiritual in Your video, that I can not but be aware of its power! If there is such a place as PARADISE this video is the closest I've ever been and will ever be! It gave me - literally - out of this world experience and took me to dimensions that are lightening years away from our home - Mother Earth... Thank You INFINITELY!!!
Hi Jordan: Great video! I am a professor at the Univ. of Maryland. I give pro bono presentations to the general public on ocean life. May I have your permission to use this video as part of my presentations? I would give you full credit at the bottom of the screen. Thanks for your consideration.
+uheheu Not sure how boats harassing whales justifies anything. Let's not get into one of those youtube arguments. I just think it's funny when drone videos have soft magical music painting it as this peaceful thing, and the reality is VVVVVVVVVRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Whale spotting was one of my favorite things to do while staying on Oahu this past January. You have amazing footage! Thanks for sharing!
It was a turtle whale dolphin party and I'm only 1 minute in!! WOW
you just got a honu experience!

What drone is this? The video quality is outstanding!

+Philip Zeplin DJI Phantom 3
Awesome, thanks for the replies! Way better quality than I expected from current drones!
+Philip Zeplin The Phantom 4 looks amazing by the way. I have the 2 and cannot wait to upgrade.

Great shots. Going to show about 250 3-5 years old this video. Great for expanding our classroom.
+Marc Telesha Nice initiative, but get the author's permission beforehand
+GFmanaic it's called Fair Use shhs
Fair enough, in my country it isnt, I just checked the US and scolarship is included.

Absolutely amazing footage! Love it! Are they spinner dolphins?
One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen!!

Freakishly awesome! Even Honu wants to get in the action.
I watch this video about once a week, it is mesmerizing!

Great shots! I was just in Maui and brought my Phantom 3 but unfortunately wasn't able to get any whale shots. Aloha!
Nice work. I personally love the music, Shazam couldn't figure out what it is. Care to disclose the music in this video?
That water is amazingly clear.
this is just incredible.
That's so amazing.. I always wanted to see a whale! Thanks for the video :) keep up the amazing work!
Loved the breach timed with the music at 2:30
:)
+uheheu It was *PERFECT*. Also I just about yelled in glee when it looks like the two whales high five each other around :55. Brought back so many happy memories of the Islands. Thank you!!
awesome video! Definitely sharing this. Also, what drone are you using?
Fantastic editing, wonderful video!

+Jim Lahey. Yes they do.

Wow this is just amazing!
Incredible footage, thanks for sharing.
You outdid yourself at 1:23 !! amazing!
The part from 2:08 to 2:20 just "blew me away", "broke me to bits" and made me "vaporise in the air"...
This is why we fly. Amazing video. The disney music was a bit much, but i feel ya on it.
This is incredible! well done =)

Published in March...But when did it actually take place. I'm trying to put a trip together to experience this.
whale season in hawaii is december - april.
That shit was awesome. Loved the drums loved it all. Came from reddit.
Thanks for sharing amazing work!
As a Brit, its not fair how crystal blue that water is...
Wow, these shots are pretty amazing! It's striking that these very large animals can still seem very playful :D
Really amazing!!
what is the name of that song? great video!
Are the whales aware of the drone?
I stay high enough up to be out of audible range, but I cannot say for sure. I did not see any change in behavior when I came from 200 feet up to around 75 feet though.
That's a pretty nice way to spend some time.
Congrats! great video.
What's the name of the song??? I must have it!
+uheheu You are an intelligent, beautiful, well respected and well liked person and may whichever deity you believe in, repay you for your service to this world.

+uheheu Hi, is this royalty free music? ie: can I download the music from youtube and use? If not, how do I buy? Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply. Good News Tunes - Different Futures
Astonishing.Thanks
Love this

pretty sure drone operating noise wouldn't sound too great with the water.
+Dylan Garcia
Was it not the ocean at the start with some of the drones noise? Or was that filler as well?
+Amber Miele Drones make a ton of noise when they fly, you'd only hear its buzzing.
+Zach Staroba
Didn't know, thanks! I still do wish to hear the ocean more though! Perhaps one day drones'll be quieter.
2:42 what the hell is dat big thing under water
+mike Stan Livingston Looks like a dragon lol
+mike Stan Livingston probably a school of fish
+mike Stan Livingston maybe plane or air trike? Too short to be a plane but possible to be a trike.
There are supposed to be underwater bases in that area.
Whale shit
Thanks for sharing this, something truly beautiful. I hope whales and dolphins aren't among the third.
Magnificent!
Looks coool. where do i buy one of these?
+sarthak mohanty I don't think you can really purchase a whale
+Stubz_ Ah, the ole reddit switcha.. wait, shit.
+Stubz_ Shit! I guess my long time dream of owning a giant whale isn't going to come true any time sooner. :(
I have only seen whales in video and pictures. Like this and people of Wal-Mart of course.
Awesome video!
2:07 "Imma gonna flip this kayak... I'm gonna do it!... Nah, that would be mean..."
what do u do for a living ? how did u know the whales gonna be there ?
+tranche2pain They come to the shore at certain times in the year for breeding or something

Whats it like to be rich?
+Lucasif The Odd what about the boat?
+\V A L D O You dont have to be Rich to own a boat either. Not all boats are yachts and cruise liners.
***** What's it like to be so rich you can just quit your job, move to Hawaii, and film whales from your private boat all day?
How do you know what he works as?

th-cam.com/video/j6IIjLK-8fU/w-d-xo.html
This spot where the two whales touch fins.
At 0:39 is that a turtle? if so, rip turtle
at 2:41 you can see a bigger animal than the wheales 🐳 going under them
whale whale whale. what do we have here
You should put back the insanely annoying sound the drone makes, so we get the real life sense of what the whales had to put up with
+uheheu Not sure how boats harassing whales justifies anything. Let's not get into one of those youtube arguments. I just think it's funny when drone videos have soft magical music painting it as this peaceful thing, and the reality is VVVVVVVVVRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
