This rifle carried me through trials last weekend. An unbelievably good feeling pulse.
When I finally solo flawless'd Prophecy, the Nine gifted me an Arrowhead Brake/ Hi Cal/ Tunnel Vision/ Full Auto one of these and I absolutely love it. The consistency is amazing.

I have a arrowhead, high cal, surplus and EC with stability masterwork and LOVE IT. I use backup mag and an middle tree arc strider and feels amazing. Love your content man :)

If you play stasis, you can slap an icarus and have 100 recoil, in the air, and moving target!
I farmed for this gun until I got my ideal roll. Arrowhead, Ricochet rounds, Slideshot, EC, Range MW. Both void and arc subclasses make the gun feel amazing.
I've got a Surplus + Full Auto roll and it has been my number 1 Primary this season. I pair it with the Stag and a Quickdraw + Opening Shot Fractethyst and it feels competitive on any map. Stag + Healing Rift + Whisper of Chains and you can lock down entire lanes on your own. Whisper of Hedrons gives you +30 to Mobility/Recovery/Resilience, weapon stability, aim assist and a stacking version of Icarus grip for 12 seconds. It's a fun build for Quickplay
Currently using a time-worn spire with iron grip that was wasting away in my vault. It’s disgusting. I genuinely feel like I cannot lose a duel. I’ve played more crucible this week than I have in the past season because of it. This archetype is really getting a resurgence with the newcomers this season too!
I'd like to include an honorable mention of tunnel vision + elemental capicator on solar. Specifically bottom tree gunslinger, where you're getting already impressive stat boosts from knock em down. Assuming Arrowhead and hi-cals or ricos.
A true monster, probably the best addition to the game this season if u ask me, the whole perk pool is worth checking out, can be farmed, feels great. And theres plenty of arc shields in pve this season too if u need a decent roll over there

For me it’s the best legendary pulse ever. My number one before sunset came. Unfortunately the rest of my team left Destiny so I haven’t had any success getting another. It just sits in my vault reminding how great a weapon it is.
I have a surplus - wellspring legal action, and love it. as you mention it just feels good when using it. I have not dropped a darkest before yet, but am looking forward to dropping one as I have loved pulses since I started playing D1. I loved Red Death in D1
Got a tunnel vision/full auto and that carried me through trials last week! I’m enamored with it
I have a slideshot/rampage roll and it feels so crisp when going on streaks. Love this weapon.
Definitely do reinforce that the surplus+full auto roll is great. I have it with corkscrew+ricochet+handling and there's just so much raw stats on this thing, it feels amazing

Overflow full auto is my favorite roll so far.
This paired with Chaperone is cracked. Got me the easiest flawless I ever had.
Full Auto, Surplus, Arrow Head, Ricochet, and Handling MW is my best role so far. Great gun. Your note on "confidence" is spot on.

"I'm stockpiling as many Elemental Capacitor rolls as I can..." *Me looks at my vault with 499 things in it* Yep...no. I will stick with my Surplus/Wellspring roll with High Cal, smallbore/chambered, and a range MW.
I got arrowhead, ricochet rounds, overflow, full auto. Can get 72 in the mag with overflow. No reloads needed.
Also got tunnel vision elemental capacitor, which is stashed.
It's great fun, plus prophecy is giving decent armor drops with ghost armor picker running
The original DB was the weapon that made me feel confident in PvP in year 1, and I still loved to bring it out sometimes, just to imagine the confused look on people's faces when they're killed by it. Now that it's back I can't really count on its obscurity anymore, but at least it's back with a ton of great perks, so I'm happy. :)
I have a Chambered Comp 😅, High Cal, Surplus, Wellspring roll that absolutely shreds… can’t say how much I love it because I love it too much. Takes me back to Grasp of Malok days when that pulse in D1 dominated.
I had an OG Darkest Before from the original trials, mine was a void one. The original role on those guns was the one that you mentioned that you really liked, Arrowhead Brake, High Calibre Rounds, Slideshot and Full Auto.
I mained that gun mainly as a voidlock, using bottom tree with Devour (and yeah the super is the crappiest in the game), and either Nehzerac's Sin for ability regen on void kills, or Orphidians which just boosts several areas you want on the gun, reload and handling. It's a great dueling weapon, I would often pair it with Bastion (when I was feeling toxic), or a shotgun for cleanups and tight spaces. Even when it was considered out of date because it didn't have a perk pool to choose from, but had a static role, I honestly didn't care because the perks you had worked so well together for a short-mid range duelling weapon....

Hammer Forged, Ricochet, Range MW, Surplus and Elemental Capacitor feels great. Really looking forward to when the Full Auto mod is available in December
My go-to roll is Fluted, Ricochet, Overflow, Elem. Cap., Range MW (Alternates are Polygonal and Light Mag)
Really fun on an Arc class w/ shotgun because the handling gets really high. The somewhat worse peekshot capability can be mitigated by Bottom Stormcaller (Attunement of Elements) Arc Soul, but then you need to think about the Riskrunner. I saw it several times in Trials earlier in the season during the Distant Shore week (to counter Arc Souls specifically), but I haven't seen it as much recently.
You mentioning the Surplus/Wellspring Hailing Confusion sold me hard on this weapon. I love that gun and combo.
I’ve got polygonal/smallbore High cal QuickDraw and elemental capacitor and I main top tether with a QuickDraw opening shot fractethyst. This thing has completely transformed my play. The bit about confidence is real. I’ve won every game of trials I played with it. Granted that’s only been 3 games total because work and kids but even in quick play I slay as an average player. This gun will be my main squeeze for the foreseeable future in my hunter.
First drop I got a poly/high cal/surplus/FA with a range master and I absolutely love it. Great pulse

I think for PvE that Subsistence/Elemental is the best roll possible because it can continously fire with a solar warlock for example. Mr Fruit got that as his first roll and he kept it just because of the comment section. Idk if he sees the potential of non-stop firing, but it’s very good, and I’m hunting for it.

Can’t wait to get my god roll, Surplus elemental capacitor. With stasis hunter I will have at least 2x abilities at all times (just unbind your charged melee) and it will have extra strafe speed and recoil direction, this combo frees you up to push everything into range to hit that 34 meter territory
Have we all forgot about the time worn spire? Moving target plus vorpal is pretty great

i use surplus/elemental with ophidians and have absolutely no complaints..spent the entire day in iron banner yesterday and it served me well...awesome dungeon score..

i actually have a surplus wellspring, it has armor-piercing and polygonal with a range MW. i shoved a targetting adjuster on it without thinking. this thing is so smooth to use .

This was the weapon that changed my mind about surplus. I thought it wasn't a great perk for me because I like weapons feeling consistent all the time and when I use my abilities that changes that for the weapon. However upon getting a surplus/ elemental capacitor roll with max stability since I play nightstalker, I was blown away by how good it felt on that weapon. The confidence comment is especially spot on in the video. I don't think there's a legendary primary I feel more confident in dueling with than this weapon right now.

My roll: Arrowhead, highcal, surplus, well spring, handling MW. I love it, but i had to replace it with a sniper+HC build for my team in trials and scrims. Get this gun, the hype is real and it is a monster, i love it and use it whenever i am frusturated with my sniper. Seriously, get it, its not your back of the map dad rifle, its a 1v1 monster and team shot beast.

Darkest Before and Last Perdition are my top two pulse rifles. Both of them are absolute beams, and rampage on either of them will tear through opponents
One that wasn’t mentioned was time worn spire. I have a high cal, moving target with iron grip with red dot 2 and excited to try and find a energy pulse that can compete with it. It’s got crazy AA and moving target makes it feel smooth when ads but i misss using riiswalker. Always love your videos and cant wait to try and get an elemental or full auto hi cal roll to compare!
This has been my PVP go to this season.
Smallbore+Armour Piercing+Tunnel Vision+Rampage.
I usually pair it with the multi mac when anyone tries to close the distance on me.
This thing near instantly became my new main PvP gun. I have arrowhead, high cal or ricochet rounds, surplus and rampage with a range MW. Put this thing in a Sunspot after getting one down and get melting! I can’t quite decide whether I prefer the stability or the additional flinch though 😅 also, I was able to land two mediocre ones with surplus and wellspring, which I will use on my tripmine hunter and my Ophidians warlock. I can highly recommend this thing to pretty much everyone!

I've always loved darkest before it was the first thing I farmed this season. Even the worst roll is still great solid pulse 10/10
Gonna see how I can mess around with it on d2gunsmith to optimize but personally shooting for surplus,EC for the build drewsky put out on having 5 abilities for stasis hunters. It’ll keep surplus at x3 and take care of recoil direction so you can slot icarus or TA, as well as give you a strafe speed bump. You can then spec for more range while keeping all other stats at 80-100 if it works out how I think it will
Oh my that dodge at 5:48 never see people using that option for movement in crucible.
got a fluted, ricochet rounds, QD, full auto that has been a staple for some flawless runs and its so nice. Did have a surplus full auto but dismantled that cause i always forget surplus does more than jjust draw speed. Still happy with the roll ive been using when I feel like running a pulse though

Thats why mine DB has Handling mw and surplus to counter that slow handling from chambered and it works out pretty well

Reminded me of my surplus elemental capacitor stars in shadow pulse. It's evil on void classes as the bonuses from crouching on top of max stability and high range.
"Rapid-fire trio"... no love for Time-worn Spire?
Its scopes allow picking a zoom you enjoy (enabling a 30-45m range), it has very good base stats, and some good perks.
The trio jurassic green, darkest before and gridskipper are the three available energy rapid fire pulserifles

My baby... Arrowhead Brake, Richocet Rounds, Surplus, Rampage with a range MW... already at 3300 kills on it.
Im using corkscrew, ricochet, surplus and full auto, range mw. And i'm in love with this one. My go-to in trials atm.
136 boss kills since the new season. Still no surplus + ele cap. I have some great rolls, but this is basically my favorite gun ever in this game, and by far my most competitive so I want the best. And that roll is so appealing for my playstyle. I don’t think I’ve ever grinded this much much for a perfect roll. I will not be defeated
I got slide shot and full auto with a handling master work and I love it (sorry I forgot the other two) imo the handling masterwork with slide shot makes this gun perfect for quite a few ranges with the ability for higher ads speed and sliding giving you ammo and increasing range and stability
Full auto + hipfire grip mod = perfection for even close range
Just for reference, rapid fires got buffed in Season of Undying with Shadowkeep launch.
My only darkest drop was a slide shot rampage roll and over the course of 3 test games, I had more than 70 kills on it. This thing is a monster, don't skip over it!

I have a surplus, full auto roll that is amazing. It’s worth the grind and can dual extremely well.
This was a good gun that feels good, but in my last trials someone used the risk runner to counter me and my teammate so that was pretty cool to know. It's something to give to the gridskipper and jurassic green.

I have one with arrowhead, RR, overflow and rampage and I absolutely love it. Picking up special and getting a mag of 76 is pretty awesome.
mine has Ricochet Rounds, Surplus and Well Spring, and stabillity masterwork. The barrel is flutted barrel. I play in ps4, and is a easy gun for controller even with 54 recoil.
Surplus and Wellspring feels crispy with a Stability MW
I have chambered/richochet rounds/surplus/full auto with range MW. Luv it. I also have surplus with wellspring but the other one feels a lot better.
My very first drop was ricochet rounds, surplus, wellspring, stab MW and it sold me the weapon. I've never been a big fan of this archetype until now. So glad I got a good one quickly, because there is no way I could keep my sanity grinding PvE like Cammy does lol
I use Slideshot Rampage, but I have a Surplus Elemental Capacitor one.
Unfortunately the barrel and mag aren't ideal for that second one. The first one is Arrowhead and high cal

Ive been a pulse rifle main in high end PvP ever since cold denial, but I've always tried to stay in the aggressive frames because I think they are better for team shots, but I think its time to grind for this
I’ve been using this with 85 stability and tunnel with unrelenting on my warlock with the stag and oh boy does it make 1v3s so much easier lol

Man, always feel like I'm kicking myself when I watch these reviews for breaking down something that would've been great! Had a Darkest Before with slideshot full auto for the longest time and finally broke it down in a vault cleaning spree. Oh well, time to grind for more rolls I suppose, and I still haven't gotten a judgement with timed payload

@@feihnbuckland7011 Full auto is great for PVP on 540s because it ALWAYS ensures you are always firing at the maximum cadence. Which in turn translates into optimal time to kill. If any weapon type needs full auto, it is hand down 540s and specifically for PVP.

Arrowhead/Hc or Rr/Overflow/Ele cap - been using this since the beginning of this season and can say that this weapon is just a huge comfort pick. I never really feel like I am out of place with this weapon.
