- I am head up to the dark timbered mountains of Montana to look for a big spring bear! I am joined by a friend for one day but the rest is a solo hunt. Backpacking into some deeper country in hopes of finding some bears in the backcountry!

Man it was a hard spring season. I’m located in the flathead valley. Green up was super early bears where on the move right out the gate. I was fortunate enough to still harvest but numbers are way down at the tannery I work for.
Dang yeah it was tough! I’m glad to hear you got one! I’ll have to see if I can get one in the fall!
