    Growth as an artist is simple. Don't limit your challenges but challenge your limits. The way you create commissions for yourself, in this case a movie poster, is just a perfect example of this. Kind of in the philosophy of "If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you". And there's no challenge greater then the challenge to challenge yourself on a daily basis. Great job Minnie, much love.

      Dries stay with the quotables! First it was A master artist is just an artist who kept beginning and now it's don't limit your challenges but challenge your limits.

    This was such a fun concept!
    When you first got sponsored by Intel, I was so happy for and proud of you. It was such a cool step forward.
    Now I was thinking how lucky Intel are to have you on board. You always put so much effort and creativity into your videos for them. 😊
    Also, that computer looks divine. 😱

    Super exciting video! I could practically see how your workflow was not only enhanced by Microsoft’s latest computer but allowed you to be more creative and engaged with your incredible movie poster. This way of doing a review, I believe, is organic and true to your word, so that other creatives who are in the market can truly see how it preforms.

    Is this MY MINNIE I'm seeing here!? Minnie, that was INCREDIBLE work! First of all, that all in one pc is freaking amazing just as you said and would make a graphic artist like me just giddy with all the possibilities of the kind of creative work I COULD be creating! Then, from just the processing alone to the overall response in photoshop as you created was just bar none no less than extraordinary! I loved the process you went through in the concept of your story, the overall movie poster and movie production plan, and right on down to the sketch process of just how your layout was to begin! Minnie, I ADORE how your brain works and all I can do is praise God for blessing you with such a mind blowing unique creative ability! You have me flabbergasted right now! LOL! I may have to watch this, like, 5 times because...WOW! I don't know how you do it, Minnie! The movie poster was outstanding and I sho' would go see it!🤓❤

    For not being a writer, you did a great job of becoming a writer for this project. I think your story draft was pretty compelling. It reminded me a bit of "Misery" meets "The Shining". Other than the prevalence of ad copy throughout the narration, it was a lot of fun seeing how you brought the film idea to life using spooky imagery and a foreboding-looking Frank Lloyd Wright-ish mansion design.

    I like to commission my own digital stamps, since I had to give up working I can't buy all the craft supplies I used to. I find that making my own digital ones, really satisfying and I can be a more minimalist crafter now. Plus it adds in my artistic side that I love. I draw mine on my iPad so that computer with a giant screen looks like a dream!

    • @minniesmall

      I found it very beginner-friendly to be honest. I mean, I plugged it in and used the mouse and keyboard that came with it (which were already wirelessly linked to the computer- same as the pen!) so there was nothing to set up. I use all my usual apps and programmes, and so far I haven't had to learn anything new, but I suppose it depends how in-depth you want to get with what you're using the computer for. Hope this helps!

    So amazing! I heard many artists talking about creating commissions for yourself, but I've never seen a process video of the idea. The poster looks great, I would watch the movie. A poster is super important for bringing people to watch the movie and I was so amazed by your result. It's kind of noir-ish? At the same time, however, I feel overwhelmed by commissioning myself. Thinking about the responsibility I have to a client speeds up my breathing :)). I don't know if I could do it. Especially after seeing what you've done. Maybe I just need to find my subject. How do you deal with the fear of disappointing your client?

    • @minniesmall
      @minniesmall  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can completely relate to that fear. The best thing is to just take it on, one project at a time, and gradually you build more confidence in yourself. The fear doesn't go away completely, but it makes sure you're doing the best work you can. And remember when it comes to real clients, they wouldn't have come to you for a commission if they didn't already like your work, so just keep doing what you're doing!

    Can I ask a question about the computer? Does it gets really warm when your arm is close to it? I never had a cintiq, but I remember back when it first came out it was very hot. Not sure if that issue was fixed, but because your computer is a monitor tablet as well, I was just curious if it feels comfortable when your arm is leaning against the screen. The question just popped into my head when I saw the shots of your arm over the screen.

      I use the Dell when I'm out and about (and when I want to work on the sofa and in bed lol) I feel very lucky to be gifted these amazing devices, and anything I don't use, I give to people who will ;)

      Minnie Small that’s amazing! It’s always a visual treat seeing you work and incorporating digital tools and technology into art making. I feel it’s not only conducive to creativity but also time saving. And, in your case very inspiring. I have yet to see other youtubers incorporate windows laptop into their making processes.
