There's something so relatable about being "done" a painting and then continuing to fiddle with it

This is so freaky! I just found you two nights ago as I was checking out different styles of how to create fun TH-cam tutorials. I love your videos, your voice, edits, style... Then just now an old acquaintance who follows you said you referenced one of my paintings and credited me. I've been wanting to make online classes and tutorials for years, and now I have the time since my teaching studio is closed during quarantine. What I like about your approach to new challenges and the craft in general is the detailed description of your fears of 'what could go wrong'...it's one of the best helps the fearfull can receive.

What a gorgeous painting!! I also love the part where the fast song plays (guitar) and your video lines up a ton with it (where you're going in and out of the painting almost to the beat during the sped up footage).
I love everything you post but when I saw the thumbnail I was amazed, it’s stunning and to do in such a huge surface (at least for me, who does small painting) it’s amazing! Hope you stay healthy and happy in this moment!
My BABYz Yixing loves to see starlights I am so much more comfortable on large scale paintings it’s the smaller pieces I find a challenge! It’s interesting how we all have our mediums or scale that we are used to!

I just finished 3 big wave paintings recently. It was a long journey but i had a great time to work on them. My clients picked one of them they like the most so I will cut, roll in the tube and ship it to them tomorrow. I am getting nervous but hope they like it and enjoy. It's always fun to work for clients (commissions). It's a big challenge sometimes. I really enjoy your process and like your waves. Looking forward to seeing more. Stay safe and creative. ^ ^

Im really happy you posted today. We're not having a good time here in out country. The Full lock down just extended till april 30. The lock down started at march and were just at home. Its hard for us because we cant really go outside to buy food or find money. Sorry if i vented out, its just so difficult. Im really happy that you uploaded, it made me relax and hearing your voice calmed me down. Stay safe 💕 and thank you for doing this.
It's been extended where I am, too, and to the same date. It's getting real hard here, especially because we've got a five year old who doesn't really get the weight of the situation
I miss going to school and seeing my friends. Our cases is over 4 thousand now. 😞

Not only is the painting gorgeous, the video is also beautifully shot and edited! It's such a coincidence as well because I'm currently working on a large piece for my mother, a still life with flowers, and I'm using acrylics too. It was inspiring to see your process!
Wow so inspiring! Love that you did a little practice painting first. I have a hard time doing the same painting over again and can totally relate!
So interesting to see you paint this and the other wave. Being more of an illustrative kind of artist, it s great to watch how you tackled their creation! Plus creating the first test run in a small version is how I do waves too (mostly)! Btw I love Wade's waves of @oceanartbykoniakowsky and own some of his pieces, his process videos on insta are a great way to learn how to paint waves too!

this was beautiful! I'm currently working on a project for Camp Nanowrimo, a novel about a French student who comes to America for her high school education and her faith and understanding of the world is challenged. while I'm working on this project, even though it is for an event and could be considered big and serious, I'm trying to take it one day at a time and really let myself relax. I want to enjoy writing this instead of being stressed out about word count or plot development. I think, doing little projects here and there while working on this one will help me not only build my portfolio, but also give me a healthier perspective on my creativity. I will be doing a short story commission in a way, a gift for a friend for her birthday so it's funny that you also did this little commission as a gift. I loved watching this! it was really calming, especially during what's happening and all the ripple effects of this month's events.

So gorgeous! I have trouble painting large like this. Up close it's so hard to tell if I'm getting it right and have to keep stepping back to see if it comes together and makes sense. Plus, I really tense up when painting for someone else. However, I am inspired to give this one a go. So, I guess we have the month of April to work on our large scale nature themed painting?

This is sooo beautiful, Minnie! Recently I trued drawing a wave digitally and it was a total disaster, but I might give this a try with acrylics or gouache. I am currently just trying out gouache but this could be a very good subject for my next study. Thank you very much, Minnie :)

Love the finished painting. I notice the blending you did on the first layers. How do you prevent the acrylic paint drying out? Mine does and I don't want to keep adding water to the mix. Maybe I just work too slow :?

Minnie PLEASE consider doing a relief print video sometime soon!!!! You uttered the word “woodblock” and my brain ran with the idea. There aren’t too many TH-cam videos on the subject and I think you could really open the door for some people and the medium!!! That is a pretty big canvas, can be difficult sometimes working that big and to try to make everything "work" in the space. It's a powerful looking wave 🙂

I find it odd that a few days ago I had a dream of myself witnessing a Tsunami while some guy was surfing... (I have no connection with beaches and surfing, I interpreted the dream as emotions with the water). But the tsunami looked similar to the painting. I thought of drawing what I dreamt but idk how to.
