Another solid review Roman, straight Foward with no b/s! As a viewer of your channel since day 1, Mary& Jen are a solid addition to the TFL family as I told them yesterday, it’s so nice to have a different perspective from a another point of view. As the owner of TFL a great choice to bring them on. Happy holidays to the entire TFL Team. Evan, From Rockland county , NY.
I am not a fan of getting rid of buttons and knobs! I think all vehicles must have a button or knob for radios and HVAC. Those two are the ones I constantly adjust by feel as I'm driving down the road. A touch screen means that I would have to take my eyes off the road much longer than necessary to make the adjustments. I am also not a fan of having everything go through one display as that is a single point of failure that could render the vehicle inoperable. I also think that drive shifter buttons and knobs are dangerous.
Absolutely. Combine that with the behavior of BMW NA and their dealers who do little but skim off of the company, and I just don’t get how they sell them. We had 3 of them when they were good looking, but finally had enough with the dealer service even before we were out of warranty.
@ I don’t know why you think that’s unfortunate unless you a Rolls customer? Personally, I see a Rolls less times in a week than I see BMW’s per hour on the road.
Negatives 1. Sunroof that doesn't open 2. Speed warning chime 3. Log into your car so it knows who is driving. 4. Camera that watches everything inside the cabin. Microphones that listen? 5. Ugly styling inside and out. 6. Cheap looking materials. 7. No hard HVAC control buttons. BMW missed the mark on their most popular selling vehicle.
Continued: 8. Rear comfort access gone 9. Rear seats don't recline anymore 10. Rear windows don't fully open 11. Door sill graphics gone 12. Light controls back to the stalk like the eighties?! 13. No carbon fiber trim or red seating available 14. H/K sound system inferior to previous gen according to DM Sounds
The evolution of the kidney grill is always a thing. Now that it has come back a little in prominence, I like it a little more than the beaver teeth. Hey Roman! Thanks dude for the clear vision of the channel and maintaining a good standard of quality! Fun stuff as always
Roman that was backup assistant where the car remember last 150 meters and can go back for you for tight parking spaces . You have to press start backup assistant and take hands off the wheel and foot off brake and let the car do its thing
no it doesnt look nice in the interior. i test drove both the 30 and the m50 model trying to trade my 22x3 . its a hugeeeee downgrade. you will be shocked how plasticy the interior quality is. bmw lost its mind , kia and mazdas have better interior these days. its a bucket of plastic inside. so sad no one buys genesis gv70 thats how a luxury car interior should be .. other than the screen everything is plastic. may be i will get the new q5 when it launches.. this one is a insult to loyal customers which they dont care anymore
The SMART Brands are bringing some of the buttons and knobs back again. Like you said, it works great when your just sitting in a parking lot. I like many wouldn't buy a car for this reason alone, no matter how good everything else might be.
I think it looks cool. I'm not too high about the las Vegas strip light show inside. To get one that's loaded it's going to cost 60k. You can get a Lexus GX550 for the same price!
Solid review but of a surprisingly unattractive car for way too much money. I get why some people like the basic SUVs but I can't fathom how poor the designs have gotten and how much people are willing to pay for something that loses value so fast.
This new design is absolutely beautiful to me. It's beefier than the old one, which looked like a shy little mouse. To all the whiners below, I'm sure you haven't seen a real one on the road yet. How many times in the last 10-15 years have I heard that BMW has "lost it": the 2019 X5, the X7, the 2020 X6, the iX. With this one, it's the same story all over again. The contingent of inveterate doomsayers.
Picked up an 05 X3 back in 2008. I actually went to get a 545i back then but it was having issues so I switched to the X3. It was an ok vehicle, didn’t do anything great but wasn’t bad for a daily. Would I ever buy another? Absolutely not, for the price there are much better options out now.
Roman, what happened to BMW? It used to be a luxury/sport brand that was the benchmark, now it just looks plasticy and cheap. Great review as always from the TFL team! Cheers Kirk
They let these designers run amok. They need a consensus on these designs before finalizing them. Let the public sway the design choices by offering a few drafts. We're more than a decade into bad design at this point. Can't believe this is the same company that made the e92 M3.
Great review Roman! So sad to see where BMW has taken the x3. This looks worse than the 2020 x3 I had in ever way. Was really hoping they had improved so I could go back to the brand.
It’s really nice but BMW needs to vastly improve their leases if they want to sell more cars. This will probably be seven to eight hundred a month on a lease payment. Crazy. I think people are over that.
I am lucky enough to be sick in France where I am driven to all rdv's FOC in a Taxi, a 2024 white BMW 3 series 2 litre bi Turbo sedan which can really move, this version is an SUV? Sorry 'mine' is better looking, in particular the dash layout and grille but the ride is a bit firm.
may be i missed if you said that. but the elepant in the room, how cheap the interior is compared to the current model . you guys review a lot of cars might not notice it but sadly lots of features removed and interior is kia grade with plastics everywhere
There is no air suspension option. We just picked up an M50 for my wife. It drives awesome. But, a lot of their wheel choices are ugly and the interior does feel cheap. Capacitive touch button suck. And they hide the air vents and then give you wacky little controllers. Just use a regular air vent, much simpler and easier to clean. We bought it because of the engine/trans and size. Almost got the Volvo Xc60 recharge, but that one is getting old in design.
After owning 3 X3s I got the perfect excuse to move over to the X5. The style is weird, too much raw plastic, no buttons, lost some nice features. I don’t understand what were they thinking.
Change the outside design asap and remove all the cheap materials from the inside. BMW has lost its way. I have a 2015 5 series and it’s built like a tank and looks and runs great!
Without wanting to sound like EV hater…BMW took all the EV elements (design, tech, haptic controls, screens) and brought it to non-EV car. That is 100% what people who want non-EV so not want
Touch vent controls ? wtf manufacturers just want to dumb consumers down with more chit , electric chit that will break down. Look I’m on my 4 bmw in 15 years they were nice cars but when my lease is up , and that’s the only way u should a bmw I’m done with the brand ugly design too much intrusive technology it’s not the ultimate driving machine anymore it’s the ultimate annoying technology driven machine no driver input
I see what BMW is trying to do with their grills, not kidding! They are trying to reinvent their brand cachet by making their logo seem sculpted and luxurious instead of sporty when walking closely by the front end. But all they're going to do is alienate anybody that cares more about not driving something that looks like an aardvark!
BMW is so lost. Angry Pigs face. Eliminating buttons inside for horrible capacitive controls. Glossy screens that are hard to see on sunny days. It's interesting that they brought back old-school '80s American exterior door handles.
Think it took a big step back styling wise. Who’s head of BMW design right now? They should be fired. They keep making the grille’s uglier and uglier, and I think that blue interior trim is tacky. I was considering an x3 but actually went with an x1 m35i because I think that’s one of the last good looking BMW SUV’s, and not much smaller than the X3. Also wayy too many haptic controls. Almost no real buttons…
Its so ugly . Outside and inside. So people havto take your eyes off the road to do anything in the car. Getting ride of all buttons and knobs and real shifters is for one reason and one reason only. To cut costs

10000% with you
Actually vehicles are starting to bring back HCAV controls
its cheaper to manufacture and assembly with one big slab screen
@@heytruthdohurts Sure, but it is not safe, and is a single point of failure. Some manufacturers are going back to the knobs and buttons.

It’s ugly AF. BMW has lost their minds with these designs

Unfortunately the head designer of bmw responsible for these new designs is moving on to Rolls Royce.
@ I don’t know why you think that’s unfortunate unless you a Rolls customer? Personally, I see a Rolls less times in a week than I see BMW’s per hour on the road.
I like it
The BMW is heading downhill from here!
Negatives

im glad i bought the 2023 design X3.. loved that car
Get your 2023 & 2024 BMWs Now! I own a 2021 X5 with 30K for miles. I think I will keep it for 5 more years.
😎🇺🇸🇮🇱👍
Thought I was looking at my neighbors Buick
haha , 🤣. yaa wait untill you step inside its a kia plastic interior. bmw lost its mind with this car, huge downgrade from the current model
LOL, it sure looks like it 👍
I got the new X3 M50 in Vegas Red because it stood out from the old fart designs they used to make…plus it drives like a race car 🎉
The evolution of the kidney grill is always a thing. Now that it has come back a little in prominence, I like it a little more than the beaver teeth. Hey Roman! Thanks dude for the clear vision of the channel and maintaining a good standard of quality!
Fun stuff as always
I like the kidney grill way more than the pig snout - what I don't like here is the headlights.
Nice review, Roman! Nice updates to the X3, but It's outside my budget. Happy Thanksgiving!
Remember when BMW was a luxury car company? Ugly design and no buttons - Hard Pass
Looks better than last gen. I’m in one rn. Beast of a car for a daily.
What an ugly piece of junk. No way will this be their most sold model going forward. I guarantee you a total remake for 2026 X3
Roman that was backup assistant where the car remember last 150 meters and can go back for you for tight parking spaces . You have to press start backup assistant and take hands off the wheel and foot off brake and let the car do its thing
Making Subarus look good…😅
Every automakers trying to follow Tesla and getting rid of physical buttons. Tesla do it for profit margin, not because it’s more convenient.
Absolutely hideous.. What the heck happened with BMW design. That's not even including the Enterprise rental interior..
Pros: exterior design. Cons: weird grill (on the non M pack), cheap looking interior (maybe it feels nice in real life), price

X3 or Model Y?
Love the new design. BMW has a smash it here.
Solid review but of a surprisingly unattractive car for way too much money. I get why some people like the basic SUVs but I can't fathom how poor the designs have gotten and how much people are willing to pay for something that loses value so fast.
Roman when are you getting the 4Runner and the idbuzz?
no cap i might get this car in january or 2024 model
Maybe the design is an attempt to stop people from keying BMW's

Lmfao looks like a buick

Man why do they always want to get rid of buttons? It’s like Big Capacitive has influence on the car designers
Great review Roman! So sad to see where BMW has taken the x3. This looks worse than the 2020 x3 I had in ever way. Was really hoping they had improved so I could go back to the brand.
Looks just like the buick
It is a Buick manufactured by BMW.
Reliability over 8 years is key to their success.
It always surprises me how BMW is able to refresh the same shape but mandges to make it look nicer then the previous model............
It’s really nice but BMW needs to vastly improve their leases if they want to sell more cars. This will probably be seven to eight hundred a month on a lease payment. Crazy. I think people are over that.
At least the grill isn’t hideous like all the other ones
They forgot to replace the throttle and brake pedals with haptic touchscreens.
I miss the stick enclave doesn't have one either 😢
I love it!!
Well I hope that they don't make the new generations worse than the prior, so it should be "the best one yet".
Beautiful Buick!
I think the exterior is decent….not a big fan of the 90 degree rectangle double screen dash.
You mentioned it was taller but I don’t think that is correct. I believe it is about one inch lower in height.
Heaven preserve us... The new design language is ugly
That is the most vanilla BMW ever. Ugh
So "I" stands for electric?

Pretty large punch buggy you got there
I wouldn't pay 55k for this but in 3 years you will be able to get a cpo one off a lease return for 30k.
You’re correct Sir…. The $32K area makes a much better buy with 26K miles. 😎🇺🇸🇮🇱👍

Kia has similar interior under $35 k 😑
The best-selling BMW is the 4th generation X3? Isn't it new-new?
The grille is okay, but it looks angry up front. Not a fan.
Much rather buy an Acura RDX. More room, more power. Better reliability. And did I forget? Has buttons and knobs…
Look up pictures of a capybara. You'll see the strong resemblance!
Without wanting to sound like EV hater…BMW took all the EV elements (design, tech, haptic controls, screens) and brought it to non-EV car. That is 100% what people who want non-EV so not want

BMW sales are down 33% in q3 2024. This x3 is a disaster.
Oh Gawd! Look at the nose on that thing! 😂
This thing is just awful all around. Who would have thought that Hyundais would be better than BMWs at this point?

Test drove one this weekend, drives nice but they sure did uglify it
Kinda looks like the new Volvo 3 row
I love the new design. It will be a smash hit for BMW.
I have owned a first generation X5 and second and third gen X3. This forth gen X3 lost me, styling is awful. Somehow they made it look cheap.
Absolutely hideous!
Woof
It looks cheap, like a basic budget car. $50,000 Wow, I was thinking base $39,000.
BMW is so lost. Angry Pigs face. Eliminating buttons inside for horrible capacitive controls. Glossy screens that are hard to see on sunny days. It's interesting that they brought back old-school '80s American exterior door handles.
The interior looks so plain

Its kinda bland in-person, ngl. Interior does not seem as luxurious as a Benz or Volvo. A very plastic luxury car.

Ugliest BMW yet. But good review :)
I think you chose a most unattractive color plus no sports packaging, negative marketing
Its so ugly . Outside and inside. So people havto take your eyes off the road to do anything in the car. Getting ride of all buttons and knobs and real shifters is for one reason and one reason only. To cut costs
Does it come with a car cover so you can hide this hideous beast when in public? Good lord who signed off on this cheap piece of junk?
This new boxy bimmer X3 looks like poop💩
WTF is that? Hahaha Chinese knockoff of the good days.
💩💩💩
🤮BMW. Yuk
Ugly...
BMW design is the worst in the automotive industry right now. Terrible.
