I followed your instruction to the letter... and now I have a new door handle that works likes new.... thanks for the simplicity of this repair.
Dealership quoted $150.00 for the handle + $350.00 to install it. I was mortified to say the least. After watching your video I ordered the handle off eBay for $17.00 and did myself in 3 minutes after I found the right screw driver. I can’t fix anything but I did this!!! I am so pleased. Thanks for the great video!
Same way, but very careful not to let the internal power lock piece fall off like I did when I fixed that door. It still locked/unlocked but I had to do it by hand after that 🤦♂️

Hi People, do yourself a favor and grab a T27 torx screwdriver for this job. I tried using the flathead screwdriver and it stripped the screw completely. It's not as easy as it seems in the video. Don't want anybody to make the same mistake I made. Ended up at the mechanic's.
It's basically the same, but there's a piece inside it that can fall. I think it's the remote sensor, because I have to manually lock/unlock that door now. I'm not sure how to prevent that from happening
Trying to do this with drivers door and the screw will not come out. just keeps turning. Since it's the only one with the key lock...does it have to be done differently?
I'm trying to do this with the rear driver's side handle. When I turn the "star" screw, it just seems to turn forever but it doesn't release the "cover du-dad", as you called it. Do you need to put alot of pressure on the star screw or turn it a million times to get it to release? How easy does the Cover du-dad assembly pop out? I've tried pliers screw drivers and can't get it to pop, which tells me the screw may not have been released yet. But I've turned it counterclockwise hundreds of times. Any thoughts?
glendaleskater1 I just saw this comment, so sorry for taking so long to respond. In case you haven't gotten it sorted yet, using a flat head screwdriver for the torque ("star") screw isn't ideal, but should work as long as it fits. You just have to be sure it's in securely and not stripping the screw. It took quite a number of turns for me. The "cover doo-dad" takes a bit of wiggling to get out once the screw is loose.
Pros, short and quick to the point. Followed your instructions to the T and it worked and I did it in less than 5 minutes. The cons are the video quality and the voice. sometimes it's hard to understand what you were saying. Maybe don't do the cartoon voice and video the example in the daylight? Just a thought
shame to make such a possibly helpful video and then make it almost unwatchable with the voice.....and my apologies if that was not intentional....you should reshoot this as it is a helpful piece of info

Got a 2012 Nissan Rouge with the same broke plastic handle on the drivers door. Fixed it right up! No muss no fuss, Great Video!

The screw stripped, can I just destroy the key metal thing?
