    Thanks good video. I just bought 200 of these so it was good to know a little extra info most I knew. However I didn't know they were water resistant I wasn't aware of the screens were extra tough. I've been very impressed with these machines.

    I have gotten a few of these right off the decommissioning line on Ebay for at home use (fast tech refresh due to kids Learn at Home). For those that are technically inclined to build them up from a stripped out state these can be had for

    I learned fact number 10 the hard way. Rain and mist it handled no problem! I decided to test it's resistance by hitting it with the hose type of nozzle in the kitchen sink. I did not dry it off. It stayed wet. Now, the O key doesn't work at all. The P and I keys type = signs after them. One ctrl button does fullscreen (f11) and the other control button now tyes semicolons. It is not the end of the world, but it is so frustrating, that I must buy a new keyboard!

    Hello Bob thank you very much for your presentation of Panasonic Toughbook CF-C2. Just have question regarding ruggedness. This unit means semi-rugged class and as you mentioned spill resistant keyboard and touch-pad is installed. Just would like to know if there is also sealing around screen as this laptop probably can alive in rain also. If some water, spray all drops came to screen still should works without damage? As you know how it is look like inside probably you will have experience if some sealing is applied also there. This sealing around screen usually are equipped fully rugged units only. This unit CF-C2 regarding videos and your presentations seems to me one of the most rugged unit from semi-rugged class. Thank you for answer in advance.

    • @Bobjohnson
      @Bobjohnson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has water resistance but is by no means waterproof. They use the term semi-rugged very loosely in regards to this laptop. I would personally not get it wet.

    HDD HEATER Hi Bob just question regarding HDD Heater. Not sure if this unit CF-C2 is equipped with this option but as this unit is semi-rugged class should and should operate in minus 10 degrees probably HDD unit has also heater. But maybe also general question how this HDD HEATER in toughbooks works. Regarding my testing seems that heater just work shortly after booting of device. If temperature of HDD is lower than plus 5 degrees heating is enabled and within 2 minutes can HDD warmed up from minus 14 to plus 5 without any problem. But during operation maybe is supposed that HDD can not below 5 degrees so probably this HDD HEATER option works just only when booting only. If you have any experience will be happy to receive any information from you. Have a nice day!

    Simpleton question - should the webcam work out of the box? Bought a refurbished one and it's telling me the camera isn't connected anytime I try and use it. It's only a minor inconvenience as I didn't even notice it had one before buying, but if I can get it working it'd be a nice bonus

    RAM MEMORY UPGRAGE - Hello Bob do you think you can also create video how to upgrade RAM in MK2 version of CF-C2? It seems that one slot is already filled with RAM 4 GB not sure if possible to remove and use for example 1600 Mhz there 2 pieces of 8 GB to reach 16 GB in total and run in dual channel mode. If this 4GB RAM module is not removable to apply dual channel function we can use just another 4 GB module. Will be happy to get any advice and recommendation how to upgrade RAM on this unit. Thank you!

    Hello Mr. Bob.
    I have a team of these but it overheats too much, is it normal or what do you recommend me to do?

    • @Bobjohnson
      @Bobjohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Walter, have you replaced the original battery on them? This could be causing heat issues- the original batteries were actually recalled due to overheating and combustion, so it's VERY important that you replace them if you haven't. If you have, and the unit is still overheating, it could be due to issues with the heat sink. We can always take a look at it for you if you would like as well. You can fill out our repairs and service from here: www.bobjohnson.com/repairs-service/ and one of our techs will work one-on-one with you.

    Hi. I have a question... My laptop cfc2 mk2 was working the touchscreen but from like 1 year it don't worked anymore with my fingers, but the touch pencil works fine. Also, fingers work with touchscreen but only before windows load (you know, f2 for bios, in those moments the touchscreen is working but when w10 load full I only get the pencil working). Any idea about what I should do? If I check drivers I'm supposed to have all them upgraded...

      Last but not less important: this seems to happen before w10 20h2... I miss my touchscreen :( 2 years without it... Any idea, explanation or solution is wellcomed. Cheers.

      Sounds like a driver issue. Windows 10 may not support that touch screen.

      Hi Aslam, as far as I am aware, you cannot replace the tip of the stylus, and you would need to purchase a new one. As we do not currently have the CF-C2 styluses in our store, I would recommend checking Amazon or eBay. Hope this helps.

    • @Bobjohnson

      The CF-C2 is considered Semi-Rugged. Can you have this unit is a dusty environment without worrying about your ports? My advise is to avoid any heavy dust and direct water spray with this model. You would be better off with the CF-53 or even better the CF-31. Thanks for watching.
