So a house with 6,000 bricks would take a day and a half spent 54 years at it and never seen it done.

It's possible to do it for an hour with everything set up right but to continuously keep it up you'd need a wall a mile long .
Plus he didn't say he can lay 500 every hour everyday.

Most brickies could lay 4 to 500 brick in an hour if the corners were already up and they could plough them in to the line on a strait run with no window or door openings and they had a good labourer keeping them on brick and gobo but what they don't account for and show in the videos is the setting out and actually putting the corners up!
When someone does a video showing they can lay 500 brick an hour starting fresh from slab level putting up corners and measuring and setting out the window/door openings etc then I'll believe and gladly give credit we're credit is due!

Nice work. And don't get me wrong, I'm not 'having a go', but there is a problem.
Everyone and their dog is producing videos like this and no one is disputing that you laid 510 bricks in an hour. The problem is perception, by that I mean how the uninitiated (and some that should know better) view said content.
They see videos like this and believe the hype. You said you average 500 per hour which means 4000 bricks a day. Oh, and that is every single day because you used the word 'average'.
Now you and me know it's not possible, but they don't. And oh boy will they let you know, often, and at length.
I've been on the trowel for 37 years and I'd be fully retired by now if I had a quid for every time some wally tells me I should be pissing a thousand bricks a day down or I'm not a proper bricklayer. Bollocks to the fact that their little extension is around the back of some terrace and their are a hundred other considerations in between the job and a good end product.
Try pricing work when the client thinks you can lay thousands of bricks a day...
Okay, moan over, as you were lol! ;-)

You people are insane i'm not even a fully qualified bricky and even i know this is the most clickbait bullshit ever seen... the amount of bricks laid in this video isn't even 500 an hour if he persisted at this speed for the entire time. The way he is laying the bricks is the fastest to get the bricks down and the longest to check. I approximate 130 bricks an hour being generous in current situation with the bricks actually completed and the 'current situation' is the best possible circumstance to lay bricks so on a typical id say you average at about 70-80 an hour which is 15% of your clickbait bullshit and you know it too, you stated in another comment your best day ever is 1650... presuming you are at it for 7.5 hours a day after breaks thats 220 an hour again not even 50% of your claimed daily average????

He bedded out and then laid 9 bricks in 1m 20s. That works out to 450 bricks in 1 hour. Why are you all doubting? Also a builder said a house is x bricks so you would do it in a day n half, never seen it done! ....... There's a LOT more to building a house than straight line laying. He could lay 500 per hour easily and so could other quick brickies. The trouble is that this isn't taking into consideration the time it takes to setup profiles, build up corners and the other things you need to do before you get to the point where you can lay straight runs. Otherwise these fast brickies would make an absolute fortune, more so than they do. Taken into reality, this brickie would be lucky to get 3k bricks down in a day the same as other brickies that can be bothered to work efficiently and fast.

Look in the background. I’ve never seen gigantic brick leads like that! We usually build about 6 course leads to start a corner to hold a speed lead (made of square tubing). It takes about 5 minutes to setup each speed lead and then we stretch everyone out & start laying brick. Those 8’+ hand built leads are inefficient & a waste of time. The guys building those are laying even 500 brick a DAY. Everyone here is correct thats says theres more to laying brick than starting a video basically at the end of the process rather than at the beginning!

17 bricks in 2 min? do the maths. Moving fast is not the same as actually going fast. He makes few movements and doesn't make mistakes, says a guy who works on an assembly line.

This speed on video is bellow 500 bricks A DAY on average
I've been around many sites for grinding and the big mouth guys smashing (they did just on straight walls ever 3rd or 4th day) about 800+, all the pointing etc. done by labourers
Funny thing, nearly all guys like that usually ended up being kicked from the site and being not paid for the last house, sometimes even went to being sued, as part of their shit work had to be teared down and redone by someone else

You made that look so easy and fast amazing. I do have one question, do masons ever make full size windows below ground level, and if so why?

    • @saber5585
      @saber5585 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Back in the day windows were laid below grade as an egress " a way out" from the basement. I've had to put a ladder built into the brick, backed by block. Of course these are only on high ground and always had a drain to get rid of any water that might get into the hole.

I think it works out to be one brick every 7 plus seconds , unlike a bricky to stretch thing's

I agree with handycrowd, all this hype about 4000 bricks a day is nonsense. When surveyors/site managers/project managers see this hyped up bs they think bricklayers are earning far more than they actually are. They price with reluctance

He's going way too slow to lay 500 an hour. Spreads mud too slow also for a 500 count also.
If he spreads mud any slower, birds would be nesting in his hat! Tell them there lies to somebody that doesn't know any better, sonny boy!
