Neutral Nation: Our Voices, Our Stories

The Queer Newark Oral History Project was proud to contribute to Neutral Nation, a Virtual A​rt Exhibit and Experience in honor of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day 2021. This three-day event opened on February 17, 2021 and included artistic offerings, a panel discussion, and special exhibits. This "Our Voices, Our Stories" presentation, curated by Christina Strasburger for Queer Newark, premiered on February 19 and features an interview with Aaron Frazier, poet and writer living with the virus, and Timothy Stewart-Winter, historian and QNOHP co-director; archival images; and clips from past interviews with pioneers and activists including James Credle and Gary Paul Wright, advocates and artists Alicia Heath-Toby, Angela Raine, Marc Sir Dane, and the late Darryl Rochester.
