Are You looking to replace your dash on your GMC or Chevrolet truck? They had a issue with premature cracking and getting really brittle, this causes them to rattle and squeak & give the feeling that your truck or SUV is cheap or falling apart. In this video we start off with removing the old dash and replacing it with a new one from the dealers, we also lined it with Dynamat Xtreme to help reinforce it and to isolate the sounds. Overall, the job was not too bad, it is challenging in the aspect that everything is fragile and 50% of the panels use the pop in retaining clips that take a bit of force to remove. It took Us about 4 hours to get the new one in and fully installed.

I have a 2008 ltz 2500hd with a cracked dash and there’s a nice rattle when hitting bumps right by the instrument cluster hump. What’s behind that part that could possibly break or rattle?

I absolutely positively hate the hard CHEAP plastic dash in my 2012 sierra Denali. If I were to replace the dash when it cracked, I would look at covering it with faux leather and French stitching.

I was new from Coulter Gmc & Cadilac, they are all VIN specific for the correct color (s). Thank You for the feedback

Gives me courage to attempt this on my Silverado. I do a lot of towing, and I am thinking of doing a built-in guage pod or monitor screen extension where the middle speaker cut out is too. You have had this in a few years now - I am curious how the new dash has held up and where you got it from? Thanks!
Still going strong thankfully. This was a oem replacement dash from GM.
I’m looking to do this to my truck. I’m trying to think up of a way to brace and reinforce the new dash to help prevent cracking. I was thinking of completely covering the bottom side with a strong construction silicone? Any ideas would be great
Go over the bottom of the dash with a thin layer of fiberglass in the weak areas. There is a vid showing this repair.

Unfortunately i dont. There are a few different ones tho with different options. If you have your vin call your local gm dealer and they can get you the correct# for your truck. Thanks for watching!

I believe total I used about 3 of the 12×12 sheets of it. Cut into various pieces obviously. It made a hell of a difference on the truck after wards.
About how much was it from the dealer?
@@ericg1149 depending on the options yours has they are close to $1200.00 definitly not cheap this one was just over $900 I believe

The airbags For it is a recall knows airbags
How much do you charge for job like this?
Depends on the vehicle really but somewhere around 5 or $600 for a job like this one.
why did you take the airbag out at the end?
