    Is it just me or are there sirens in every surgeon interview on TH-cam?

    "This system does not have a looper"
    Yet the blackbox he has in there truly excells at the job. Was looking forward to hearing how he'd replaced the Octa looper workflow with a BB one. 🤷🏼‍♀️

      I use the korg kp3 as my looper for techno and Blackbox is a tempting upgrade.

      probably meant it doesn't use a looper

    Leder efter gear til et "technoish" live setup og fandt denne. Jeg kendte slet ikke til jer, men hvor er det fedt at der er et dansk firma der laver sådan noget! FEDT!

    So informative and helpful, truly a legend. What does he mean when he says that he squashes everything around the kick drum? Do you think he feeds the kickdrum into the sidechain input of the boum? Or does he let through the kick in the compressor setting with attack up a little and using pretty harsh ratio to squash the rest of the sounds? Got my first live-show coming up and would appreciate any input ❤

    • @lukeb1360
      @lukeb1360 ปีที่แล้ว

      He said he's using the kickdrum to squash everything around it, so I take this as meaning he is using it as the sidechain input for the Boum.

    • @lukeb1360
      @lukeb1360 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Turns out that's not the case. He addresses it directly at 46:20

      @@lukeb1360 yeah I saw that after I made the comment 😂 He also go a bit more in detail with the interview he did with mylar melodi on his podcast why we bleep

    • @elifan2523
      @elifan2523 ปีที่แล้ว

      He’s probably using pretty fast attack time, enough to let the kick pass through

    Surgeon had said at 24:55 that he can very easily mute and unmute stuff one handed, but I haven't seen in any demo videos how this is done. From what I have been able to understand, one has to hold down the mute button while pressing track mutes with the other hand. Can someone help me to see what Tony is talking about here?

    • @anthonychild1877
      @anthonychild1877 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Double tap the Mute button, then press the buttons you want to mute, press the mute button again and those you've selected will be muted (or unmuted if they were muted before) A really useful way to mute/unmute multiple voices with one hand.

    • @partsproject
      @partsproject 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anthonychild1877 Yes that particular feature is going to come in handy for sure! Reminds me of the octatrack mute function but better. I wasn't very clear, but what I was driving at was a mute mode where I just tap the tracks and they toggle on and off instantly. I've since mentioned this to Torso Electronics and it seemed quite possible to add it without too much trouble. P.S. Your talks, demos, and live sets on You Tube are a huge source of inspiration and encouragement, and really helping me grow as an artist. Thanks for everything!

    I raised a support ticket with Arturia to fix the Looper on the BSP some years back. The unit would get stuck in an infinite loop & crash.

    wise words.... big soundsystem in the club can sound completely different than music in your studio... it's like the mix you built and tweak for weeks, and was perfect, now in a new situation is in ruins...
