So fun fact: In the original Mafia from 2002, instead of finding dope, you find the diamonds. Obviously, this is changed to drugs as well as Salieri letting you know about the diamonds in the definitive edition. This is actually one of the biggest changes to the story from the original. I think Paulie also talking about the bank score before going to the warehouse was also just in this game and not the original, I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I really like this change in my opinion. When I played the og years back and the diamond discovery happened I was like "So what, it's the don, he does what he wants, get over it." But if it's drugs that's waaay more taboo in the mafia world, at least in the movies. So this just makes way more sense if you ask me.

@@JosukeFreeman Yeah and it hits harder because Salieri says in the beginning that he doesn’t want Tommy dealing drugs. Honestly, I think the characters are written way better in the remake, I’m just not necessarily a fan of Paulie’s casting.

The detection system is a little bit weird, You can be spotted by 12 guys but the alarm doesn't get set off until someone fires a shot, I guess its like that to give people time to take someone down if they've been spotted and still want to get away with it!

I never played a Mafia before this. But I immediately left the difficulty on Normal while changing Police to Classic. It didnt get much harder. The intial 1 star would just start more frequently.
