  • Today's video is a little bit different than most of my videos. I wanted to talk about something that has been bouncing around in my head for a couple months now, and that is why the Holy Trinity was the Holy Trinity. I just want to say that what I say here is all my own opinion, and comes with my own biases of course. It's obviously difficult to pin point the exact reason why a group of individuals come up with any colloquialism, that being said I did my best to break down the reasons I believe each of these knives is important to the world of knives. I hope you enjoy!

This was an excellent overview and explanation. I've never really stopped to learn why they are given this status among all the other makers. Thanks!

Spyderco should also be up there. They came with so many innovations. Steelwise or some features you saw on high end customs became reachable fornthe everyday joe. And brought many custom locking mechanisms to the big market. They were the first with the one hand opening and the first with a pocketclip. And ofcourse with pocket sharpening solutions.

That's not the point. It's about bringing innovation to the knifeworld. Spyderco brought a lot of innovations.

@@tarik1816I wouldn’t say they innovated. More like reinterpreting what’s already out there plus a good marketing team.

@@ArkGearspyderco definitely innovated with their locking system.

Mcnees makes some nice knives now, but when the Holy Trinity became the holy trinity he hadn't even picked up a grinder yet.

Though Andrew Demko is unequivocally a pillar of the current modern American knife community, in the era of the “holy trinity” he was still working at cold steel and not running his own shop. Cold steel was mostly making budget knives, in budget steels. Though they had the triad lock (designed by Andrew) they were not a pillar of the knife world.

😂 though I disagree because I’m a Strider fan boy, that sentiment is definitely shared by many who aren’t Strider fans.
