Been watching your videos about a month now. And ive started my own excavator land clearing on the side. And as of this friday. It will be my last day at my full time job, cause of the high demand of land clearing and stuff. I cant operate both. But your videos have helped me out. So thank you and keep the videos coming

I work for a water well drilling/service company monday-friday 10+ hours a day and work for myself Saturday and Sunday from daylight til dark. I do shop welding, handyman, and tractor work. I just bought a john deere 3025e with a loader bucket, box blade, and bush hog with a 7x18ft dove tail trailer and with 2 clients I've made over $3000 in 2 weekends. I need to get more clients so I can work for myself full time

I am retired from being an industrial mechanic for over 40 years and wanted to start doing gravel driveways and general tractor work. I purchased a l3902 Kubota and I don’t have a truck to haul it around so I just drive around looking for jobs that can be done and I’m finding that people are willing to have you do some other jobs while you’re there. I just wanted to let you follower’s that you can make a lot of money just driving around looking for work thank you for your channel you bring up a lot of great content and I have even learned a few things from watching. The smaller jobs generally have a higher profit margin and once you start taking on medium to large sized jobs then you start competing against big companies that are harder to compete with because they own their own gravel pits and can shave their prices lower.

I'm just a working stiff, just bought a new dream tractor, people have came out of woodwork asking me to do work for them. Had tractor 2 weeks, not had chance to use it, thanks to 2 big ice storms. But looking for a small dump truck, I have a car trailer, box blade, want a root rake, and scraper, but I have co-workers wanting trenches dug, I got a backhoe with tractor, I have them asking for bush hogging, and fixing driveways. All I had planned to do was fix my driveways at both of my homes, and help 84 year old uncle clear his overgrown place up. He has done a lot for me all his life. Now he isnt doing well.

I just started working at a game ranch as an extra hand. The guy I work for pays me peanuts and mostly has me working with hand machines but today I got to brush hog and operate a skid steer. I see him taking on other jobs, he's currently digging out an artificial lake with a track hoe and Im hoping if I stick around long enough I'll get to work my way up into the bigger machines.
Anyways. Just found your channel and its really, really fascinating seeing all of this from a bosses perspective. Its invaluable, and I want to thank you for it.

You ain’t lying when you said you got to suck it up , I’ve only worked for big companies running bigger equipment, but I’m starting to feel that urge that I want to work on my own but you have to start at the bottom. Before I start out i at least want to have me a skid steer. Right now mainly tearing down bridges then getting base setup for the new bridge or making a detour if we can’t shut it down, then come back in but just to sum it up .and match the gravel and asphalt. Lot more to it and I do like traveling right now but I see myself in the future coming back home but get as much experience as I can.

"Cheerios in a Bowl" haha. If you don't mind I'm going to use this one. I always explain to customers that putting gravel in a hole will not last. You have to break up the original bed, and the potholes, so when new material is added, it all packs together. In Minnesota its called Class Five Gravel. Sand, stone and clay. Tailgate it out, drive on in and after a couple of rains, it's hard as blacktop. My box blade ($700) has paid for it's self many times over. Thanks for the video. Russ. In Tennessee looking to work with machinery myself in my own business. Career changes as well. We need to network together. Good perspective. God family work.

@@kentleitch2872 I have the same respective and I am in East TN, how's you progress going? I'm applying for a general labor position with a small excavation company, I hope to learn the ropes and move over to equipment and possibly start my own small excavation business, not really for the money just for stability and more freedoms, I used to be a welder and I seriously need a career change, I graduated with the highest grade in my welding class in college and it's been so hard to find and keep a job, and you know how most people's conception of a welder is good money? Lies well atleast if you actually want a home life and a Monday through Friday job and be home in the weekend and evening you're looking at 17 to 20 an hour with a 30 minute commute not that grand, but I've found that really I just wanna be my own boss and that's kinda just the direction the Lord has sent my heart, so wish me luck I'm only 23 and have two children and a wife and my dream is to have a business that I can pass to my son one day because he loves heavy equipment and construction.

@@dirttrackdevil1149 just dropped 8k on repairs for my new/ used quad axel. But major or the major and minor on the minor. 8k to have the truck running again making money. I'm also glad to see you have God as your focus. Wherever He Leads, go! He will guide you.

Great video, I’m new to digging and had our garden to do so bought a decent 2015 micro digger. Started doing some work for family and friends to get me started into doing it as a business. I have a car body repair business, so looking at something for a change. I’m in the uk so the weather is probably going to play a big part especially with the amount of rain we get.
I’ll be looking at your other videos for advice and ideas. Thanks
