As a WI Badger fan sad to see him go. He ll be a great addition at ND. Decision making, passing touch and accuracy Coan excels at. Hope he leads ND to victory in every game except vs WI at Soldier Field.
man i am so stoked for this game and i agree playing at lambeau field would have been awesome...a quick and neat trivia fact is that Curly Lambeau played college football at Notre Dame!!
Great insight lads hope we can get a lot more on the battle for starting spots on the oline and potentially how the depth chart up front will pan out whos a dark horse to maybe earning playing time or potentially starting .
Die-Hard Badger fan here and even though Im Very Excited about Mertz, it's Really sad and hard to see Coan go. ND is getting a good solid QB who makes good decisions, has a solid arm, controls the clock and can efficiently move an offense. Yea, he won't win a Heisman and make it look sexy but he can Def win games for you. Good pickup for ND.
Had the privilege of seeing this kid play in high school. Great kid and notre dame is lucky to him BUT can he lead them to a national championship remains to be seen.
Jack Coan will have a Surplus of Talent at his disposal. WR Position alone is freakin Loaded and have 3 Highly Touted Wides coming in (Colzie, Stylez, Thomas). The Depth Charts are full of Potential Stars and a Couple Gamebreakers (3 for sure). ***Boundary WR*** 1) Kevin Austin 2) Joe Wilkins 3) Jay Brunelle 4) Deion Colzie (Redshirt ?) ***Field WR*** 1) Jordan Johnson 2) Jafar Armstrong 3) Xavier Watts 4) Jayden Thomas (Redshirt ?) ***Slot WR*** 1) Braden Lenzy 2) Avery Davis 3) Lawrence Keys 4) Lorenzo Stylez Jr. (Redshirt ?) ***TE*** 1a) Michael Mayer 1b) Tommy Tremble 3) Brock Wright 4) George Takacs 5) Cane Berrong (Redshirt) ***Running Back*** 1) Chris Tyree (this dude will go down as one of the Best Ever to Run the Rock at Notre Dame). He will get the Lions Share of Carries this year, 15-20 Carries a game. 2) Kyren Williams- I know he balled out this year, but CBK has to play his BEST Players and Imho, Tyree is already better. We are Loaded at WR and TE, we have the Talent at WR Now from Starters to Reserves, we can stretch the field Vertically and have Speedsters to run screens, Quick Slants and Jet Sweeps also get deep and keep defenses honest. Coan can push the Ball down field too. I think this is a Excellent Option at QB, if Tyler Buchner comes in and takes over Spring Ball (assuming we have SB), then let our future start then. #GoIRISH #CFP2021 #WeCOMINGback
Sad you don't know about jordan johnson and watts really good freshman receivers we have are freshman like I've said alot kelly holds us back johnson is better then the 3 you named you may not even see them play as freshman smh this is why were never going be able to beat elite teams
Is it safe to say that I have a better chance at winning the Powerball than ND winning a national title? There has to be a complete overhaul with recruiting before they have a legit shot at the title.
Kelly generally doesn't like playing true freshman quarterbacks, so unless Buchner lights it up in Spring Ball, I don't think he starts. Pyne will also get a chance to prove what he's got in spring ball. I would say greater than 50% chance Coan starts, but if he doesn't play at a high level, he will have a short leash. That's just my read given Kelly's history with freshman quarterbacks, not what I think should happen.
Can was stuck in the crappy position of being the starter with Mertz on the sideline last year. If Coan did something wrong, fans wanted Mertz immediately. Good get for ND...he will win you more games than he loses and you will be surprised at how good he is
A healthier receiving corps I think will help us significantly next season. But regardless as to who wins out at quarterback, we are going to need a more aggressive vertical passing game. The quarterback with the best arm needs to be given the priority. And the system needs to develop around them, not the other way around Kelly! Ian Book was the best system quarterback Brian Kelly could ever ask for, and he was nowhere near good enough to beat Alabama, or a healthy Clemson. A talented passer who can throw the ball down the field is absolutely required in the modern game. RPO/dink and dunk, is for pretenders, and un-athletic teams. Not National Championship contenders. Notre Dame‘s got the defense, the offensive line, the RBs, the TEs.... they’ve even had the WRs. Chase Claypool, Miles Boykin, Equanimeous St. Brown, are all in the NFL catching TDs, and they were all on the team at the same time.... yet our passing game hasn’t been elite since Brady Quinn...
@@STMARTIN009 When competing against the likes of Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio St, EVERYTHING is needed to win championships. We need great offense and great defense. And you can’t have a great offense in the post modern era, without great passing. If defense alone wins a championships, we’d have won one by now.
No arm strength! The ball literally floats out of his hands from film I’ve seen. Not a deep passing threat! Depth piece only, but Brian Kelly will probably start him! Pyne and Buchner would be better choices! When are we going to “develop” a Quarterback at ND?
Not to be mean but you are watching notre dame football correct not Soccer i mean golson was good malik rozier was good kizer was elite book was borderline elite .. Coan is good accuracy decision making big game experience
@@Equalizer241 he was better then what we had at the time he's really just a game manager that's not going get the job done against bama he's arm weak and he doesn't always see the open receivers

The reason I’m excited about this is I believe he’s coming to ND for exposure and to make a run at the NFL. So he has a lot to play for

Onward Notre Dame
Onward to another post season loss?
I really don’t care who starts. Just get us back to the playoffs and this time win. Go Irish ☘️

Had the benefit of handing off to one of the best rb in college football history so who knows how good he really is but solid pickup
Michael mayer and coan will be best friends on the field.
Fans believe Graham Mertz is the absolute future. Coan was better than Hornibrook but his upside seems to far less than Mertz
Can better then hornibrook ? Like thats saying anything. Glad they are both gone. Good riddance.
Coan is a huge upgrade over Book. Y’all will be happy with him.

The question is, how good can he be behind the ND O-line? My guess is even better than before.
We don’t have time for these GOOD* not great players. We have so much talent that we’re wasting
Coan was better than almost every other player on his team especially the defense last night
Hate Jack Coan much now?? LOL great to read these college expert comments now!!

Good enough to get embarrassed in the CFP again lol.
And Jack will also play Lacrosse at N.D this season .Badgers have no men's lax team. Irish Lacrosse will be ranked top 3 team 2021 season in lacrosse.

During the Quinn era they had an ok defense but not a championship caliber defense. Defense wins championships.

Coan was like every other Badger QB, minus Wilson, below avg thrower that was good at handing off to great RBs.

He's a game manager who's a really good qb. He can't carry a team but if the talents good around him he'll be successful.
Lol
And so how did Coan do at ND? He did an amazing job.. oh yeah he was the first QB in ND history to start as a 5th yr transfer..
Yes, yes I do, Oh wait.... He already did..
Who cares? Brian Kelly not a championship coach!
He could win one if he'd get off his ass and tried recruiting a top 5 class for a few straight years..
Notre dame sucks
Love the content but mike singer may have the least intriguing openings to all of his conversations.
Thanks so much!
He’s a one yr wonder

A good number of good teams have had transfers. Um, LSU with Burrow, OSU with Fields, Oklahoma.....
Well he’s obviously already better than Ian Book per the fake alumni... Correct?
Not good.
