  • Episode 199. In this video, I demonstrate gameplay and some of my strategy of the first stage, and a little bit of the second stage. If you played (or play) Battle Chopper (or the Japanese version, "Mr Heli"), let me know if you have any stratergies or secrets of your own. Cheers for now!

Glad to see this Matt. Now I'm off to play it after seeing yours to inspire me to make a fun night on doing so. 8^)

Thank you! Such a great game. I'm going to try to do a full stage 2 strategy at a later stage. Cheers for now!

I've heard about this game many times, but seeing it in action.. my mind is figuratively blown! Great playing, this looks like a bunch of fun, but boy does it look difficult!

This game has been with me since 1987. So fun. So difficult. So rewarding. It took me a LONG time to get good at this Game, but I still feel I need more practice... looking to do a stage "2" guide soon...

You won't be disappointed! Super solid "Irem" game.

Mr Heli continued making appearances in later IREM games. "He" is even playable in R-Type Final.

Ah nice ! I didn't know that, but then again, I've never played R-Type Final... I'll have to seek it out. Thanks for the tip!

@@arcadesunday4592I am kind of curious whether you play "newer" games. What eras of gaming do you play? I have new stuff (PS4 and Switch) that I've stumbled across for cheap but never play. It's so much easier to convince myself that playing an "old" Sega Genesis or Game Boy game is the best use of my gaming time.

    3:55 Sophia from Blaster Master?

Not Sophia! Haha! I'm actually not sure what was running in the background during this recording... I've never seen or heard of Blaster Master, so I had to look it up (and will now have to try this out on my recently built RetroPie setup!) Thanks for the tip!

So, I played Blaster Master (NES) after hearing about it (thanks!) and it really seems like a well polished game, with a unique control system! Great music too! I may just do a quick video on this one some time! Cheers!

@@arcadesunday4592It's pretty much Metroid / Zelda with special map areas reachable by foot. It's a well put-together game with catchy music (Sunsoft rules on the NES). It's had some recent additions to the series on Switch that I've heard have done well, but I never tried them.
