I've noticed you haven't compared Karateka. I think it might be worth comparing (including instant game over right at start where one can fall off the cliff).
@@jasonlee7816 nope. Not now, not never. Try Desert Strike, Jungle Strike and Urban Strike on the Genesis and SNES, better gameplay vs better graphics. I'm a SNES fan but the Genesis plays waaaay better.
Good that ST implements parallax cloud layer, thus matching Amiga graphically (just a bit choppier), though C64 feels smoother than both of them and the most playable of all. CPC steals a good chunk of the screen size in exchange for speed and it works well. ZX looks like a ripped yellow mosquito mash.
The bad thing is that the ST existed, because that meant the Amiga port was crap too. 😆 Agreed about the C64 port though, which was surprisingly good and looks better than both the Amiga and ST versions (and a testament to how bad they were).
A nice little game that I saw in the arcades back in the day.Altough I didn't had the conversion back then I must say the CPC and C64 ports are amazing considering the hadware limits on these 8 bit computers. The 16 bit ports however are really bad considering they were powerful machines superior and better in a way having seen the 8 bit ports. Thanks for the video
Yeah, I agree. The original arcade version should have been easily re-createable for those 16-bit home computers. Whatever happened to the sound effects for the Amiga version is a mystery, since the machine was obviously well capable of producing them. Just a sign of another poor port, with a weak tracker cover of the original music clogging up all 4 sound channels. The developers could and should have done much better, instead of a lazy cash grab.
Amiga version is sadly the worst. I can't believe how badly that machine is used in this conversion, even CPC version has a better technical quality with better sprite movement.
Well the ST version is worse, because it's the same as the Amiga version with worse sound. That said, I think the Spectrum version is even worse still.
My vote go to the Amiga and Amstrad CPC. The Amiga had nearly spot on music and the Amstrad seems to push the system to its limits in sound, music, and graphics. The TG16 probably is the closest to the arcades graphics. 😊

PC Engine version looks beautiful
... but lacks a parallax layer with clouds, that Arcade, Amiga and even ST have.
@@fradd182 Pity that absolutely everything else about the Amiga and ST versions is worse! 😆
Aspect ratio is also much smaller so screen is more cramped.
The perfect sunday afternoon game when it is raining outside. Chill and fun.
Those fucking amiga ports man. PC Engine game looks nearly perfect minus the lack of BG scrolling though
It's amazing how the C64 looks and plays better than Amiga and ST o_O Music also better but that's expectable:)
I've noticed you haven't compared Karateka. I think it might be worth comparing (including instant game over right at start where one can fall off the cliff).
The C64 wipes the floor with the amiga and Atari ST versions. Really impressive.
it was the first time, 'game play wins over graphics' was proven.
Graphics win 🏆 over game play

Just goes to show the difference, when a developer actually tries to put in the effort. Those 16-bit ports are very disapointing, imho.
Video idea: Versions comparison Time Pilot, it's a fun game
Lots of memories!!!! I had this Game for my pc engine shuttle clone as a bootleg, and enjoyed It for years. PCE version is just awesome.
What was the Amiga and Atari ST versions coded in? Basic?
Hello my friend long time no see! (By the way are you working with that video I told you before?!)

I'd say it is a shame the Amiga version matches the ST, i.e it is a cheap ST port. Amiga could have done so much better
The bad thing is that the ST existed, because that meant the Amiga port was crap too. 😆 Agreed about the C64 port though, which was surprisingly good and looks better than both the Amiga and ST versions (and a testament to how bad they were).
The remastered version does look better though

more innocent and youthful memories
Seems like a fun game.
Can you do commando next? (Not bionic commando, I mean the top down one ((Senjou No Okami)) where you shoot stuff.)
I will one day for sure. It was already on my list, but I will need time to complete it.
The PCE one looks the closest to the Arcade original.
No Master System or SEGA Genesis, What a bummer!
Irem never released a single game for the Mega Drive.
Another Amiga game that suffers from being a crap Atari ST port.
Let's compare versions of Wizard of War
Thanks for the suggestion. I add it to my list.
c64 all the way for me, as always typically the music pushing things up a bit, as for the amiga version, my god, what did they do to you...
PCE version is just awesome, BUT, C64 is pure LOVE! much better than the 16bits versions. Amstrad is also incredible.
The Amiga version of MR. HELI looks cool,
but the Commodore 64 version looks and sounds much better 😺👍🕹️.
The SID is awesome when used with skill.
If he's a robot they should name him "Heliman" lol!
Why is the Commodore 64 version only using twelve colours on screen when it's capable of sixteen?
And the Amiga version looked crappy as well.

@@sjake8308 I said Amiga is worst because they used the same 68k code and the same 16 color graphics, that was good for Atari but poor for Amiga.

it looks like another atarist->amiga port(it should work flavesly on amiga) -C64 version music is absolute banger:)
I think the same :(. The Amiga is capable of more
Oh come on, it's dreadful for the Atari ST too! Both versions are some sort of crime against the hardware
@@Wagoo hahaha . Yes, I have to admit that I have seen technically much better games on Atari ST
The C64 version is better than the Amiga!
Pc engine est la meilleure version.
amstrad version beat the amiga and ST on this
the Amiga version is one of the ugliest games released on it, not worthy of the machine 🤢🤮
the amiga version could at least look like the PC engine version
