Brilliant for a beginner. So many good tips, and helped me work out how to make a project lighter, and less time to dry by using the tin foil and ball. I'm grateful I have found you, and will look at more of your videos. Thank you.
@@RedRockingBird you are most welcome. These ideas are lovely and unless I mentioned it before I am thinking of making my own designs to sell from air-dry clay. Right now I am looking into faux vintage style candle holders. Watching you work the clay is important to me so I can see what to do and not do. I recently brought a brand of clay that I find cuts poorly so I am not sure why. It looks jagged after trying to cut it.
Oh so cute! Id make birds too or tortoise but im awful at painting realistic so id paint in a plain colour then use paint pens to draw little patterns 😊 🐦 🐢 ❤
Wow! This is such a cute, unique, useful and clever idea! I love making gifts like this, that few people would think to make or receive. Bravo! I love these wonderful types of creative videos! 💖🐦
Delightful matchstick holders. Your videos, content and narratives really are relaxing and soothing when one needs to wind down from the stresses of life. Thank you!
Love birds, and love these! I don't use matches, but might make one or three as a vase for a tiny air plant. What might a red rocking bird look like? ,) Thanks for sharing, and happy Spring!
Love the bird, and your tips and tricks. I would love to see and be able to do a fox 🦊 standing and curled up. Thank you for sharing and happy Easter 🐣

I will be having a go at this. I was thinking of making a match holder, and I’d found some match striker papers on AMZ, if that’s helpful.Thank you for sharing Sarah.
Clever "stuffing" ideas. Don't use matchsticks but I can see a lot of different tails as possibilities. Thank you again for the fun, colorful and practical idea.
I think I would make an owl holding its wings around the space for the matches to go. With the striker piece underneath and on the front edge of the matches space, if that makes any sense. I really love your little birds Sarah, they are adorable! Thank you for the video and the inspiration. Have a great weekend!
Adorable! I liked both, I think they are a couple 😁 I was wondering, can we use two different types of varnish on the same piece to get shiny and matte effect in certain parts?
I'm getting real familiar with your videos and instructions, and they're all wonderful. Your voice and your methods are so calming. I've done several birds in different ways... And I would love to see if you make some of them with legs, and your method of doing so... if you do? 😊. Thnku
Wonderful, thank you, in this video my bird has legs: AIR DRY CLAY SCULPTURE TUTORIAL - How to Make a Bird Lamp th-cam.com/video/Qg7TOqmOmp4/w-d-xo.html
@@RedRockingBird yes... I did see a bit of that one today. I did notice the legs. But I was referring to more of legs with feet that stand on their own? No structure that they are fastened into? Any of those? I've done so many wire feet and legs... long and short, they can be very difficult to make the bird balance and stand correctly though, I've done several. Just a rather difficult process wondering if you had something a little bit more simple that works? You are definitely a pro in my eyes.
@@cathystaub4645 with clay I always seem to add them into a base structure, but I have made many fabric birds with wire legs as they are much lighter in fabric, the little bird in my redrocking bird square pattern shop…they have fairly big wired ‘feet’ link in videos
@@RedRockingBird thank you for your reply. I'll see if I can find the fabric square one that you've mentioned. Yes... They are a great deal lighter when you do them from fabric, twine, and other sources. I've done them from paper mache too... they all have feet that stand. I never prefer any of them on a block or a solid stand. I just try to gather as many ideas as I possibly can, to keep changing things up, but then too I just love to see what other people do.
Perhaps you've covered this in another video.... Are the colors you always use Cadmium Yellow, Mars Black, Cerulean Blue and White? What is the red? Is student grade okay? Will it cover well enough? Thank you!
