You can probably shave down that rubber stopper to let the spring have more travel. I have been using the nixim mod for 4+ years (the same one). It has since broken down from heavy use. Two sliver sectioned pieces of rubber stopper at both ends has cured the issue and made the mod like new.
I have the Ricmotech Load Cell mod and I really like it. I was using the GTEYE spring before and I thought the Ricmotech was softer then the GTEYE. I also owned the AP electrix Load cell ( second gen ) and I prefer the Ricmotech by far. I sold my AP. A load cell is not suppose to have lots of travel, thats for a pod system. The only way a load cell should have lots of travel is if its in a fluid based system.
Yep I think there is allot of fundamental misunderstanding about load cells, how they work , why people use them and what configurations work well. that is outside of it just being a "stiffer brake" or feeling more like a real car. Having said that I think this review was aright and at least gets the peddle mod out there to a wider audience , I think SRT might have done other videos on load cells that cover the technical aspects and benefits in more detail.
I can trail brake much better with this load cell then stock. You don't need travel to trail brake. The thing that is really nice is when the brake is compressed it lines up with the gas. So trail braking and heal toe is very easy to do.
I share the same comments about the travel. Having a brake too stiff causes problems for many of the GT cars in iRacing that require really really accurate feathering of the brake pedal. This looks like it would just cause a lot of lockups and seems like it needs the Brake Curve Factor in iRacing to be tweaked specifically per car, and for this modification alone.
Well, its not available anymore isn't it? But i think they have made a test and it basically isn't very much different to not say the same while being half the price.
Tell ya what, picked up a whole rig from the dump with this installed. Can’t tell you how I like it. I don’t expect anyone to read this lol but it requires so much force it either pushes the pedal away from me or my chair across the room. Picked up a vr headset 2 weeks ago and figured it’s time to build a real rig. Just out of wood. Paid nothing for the wheel so I think I should keep on theme and pay nothing for anything but the vr. But I think that it’s gonna be a problem to find a seat for my setup. My dad has an old TSX with a nice leather seat but that’s gonna weigh like 20kg and I kinda want to be able to lug the thing around. Anyways. So far this mod has pissed me off lol. Hope that changes soon. If you’re reading this, I hope it catches you well.
You guys mentioned your preferred ClubSport V2 pedals brake setup is shorter throw (may differ in adjustments from as they ship stock I gather?) Do you have a vid or link to discussion on your forums about how you set up your ClubSport brake? I have mine stock for now but may mess around with it sometime again.
Force is great and all but you need travel to feather the brake pedal. Like they say in the review, this mod might cater more toward formula cars or cars with very quick and sudden needs for braking. I agree 100%. But when it comes to a car with very touchy brakes and requires a lot of trail-braking to point the car accurately = you want travel. I've always pulled fast Top 10 times on iRacing with stock Logitech pedals. Preference really... I'd buy if it could be adjustable with lots of range.
Not true at all. I have the AP Electrics mod which is broadly similar to this and have no such problems. Before the AP I was using the pedals stock and had to use the Brake Curve Factor very high to make the brakes manageable, otherwise it was almost undriveable. With the load cell I turned the curve factor back to zero and haven't looked back. With a load cell, pedal travel is 100% irrelevant. The LC is only measuring the pressure you apply, the harder you push the more braking you get.
Also wonder what folks think of this episode of the cutaway view series of the Sauber F1 car explaining pedals in a real F1 car? My first impression is thought F1 braking was supposed to be super tough (hundreds of pounds of force), but he presses with his fingers? Maybe not fully 100%, or maybe no hydraulic fluid for "tension" on the cutaway system? Search Sauber F1 Team TH-cam channel videos for cutaway series, there is one specific to pedals

This mod Cost's $130, can' i beter buy a set of csr elte pedals for $150?
This is exactly my predicament. Only just getting a G27 myself now, but already looking into solutions for the brake, heh....
I like this Ricmotech much better then my AP load cell. And I had the updated AP one.

Why you don´t compare it to the APElectrix pedal?

What happened to the girl who replaced Jessica? She hasn't been on in months.
I'm buy a 2nd hand G27 with this mod on :) hope I like it.
Are you guys gonna do a diy rig this year?
Can you guys do a review of the new iRacing Build!?!?!
How does this compare to a Nixim spring-only mod, price-performance wise?
hmm the small throw kinda throws me off is it worth replacing the Nixim Mod Version 2?
hey Shaun, is this better than PTR kit?
is this better than ap electrix?

Does this worked on the g29?
Yes. Head over to the Ricmotech site
vibrates under ur seat when u go over rumble strips

anyone know if there are any good accelerator pedal mods for the g27?
Hey simracing!
With the pedal travel if u drive a real race car like a formula ford the pedal travel is like 1cm, I would kill for that pedal travel.
anyone know of a decent priced racing wheel for gt5 on ps3 that can be modded to work and feel more realistic?
exactly what it says
Gota lov da vids
exactly
this is ripoff
