I LOVE mine. Ive upgraded it with carbon and brushless setup, put in a associated b64 front cva set (fits perfect) and I think shes gonna be great for races now. She breaks 60mph and handles amazing. I paid an extra hundred for mine when they were out of stock and don't regret it even at 260 bucks. If you want her to do 60+ get the 60amp surpass hobby set of esc servo and 4500kv motor and run 3s. (Stock gears) Shes designed for smallish carpet tracks, thus the carpet tires and slower speed/gearing, but can be upgraded to be a ripper on dirt.
hi man, great setup, sounds like a beast, could i have the link to the surpass brushless set that you picked up? also, 4500kv on 3s with that weight, does she get hot and bothered after multiple 3s packs? also, if possible, the link to the hop up front cva's, and any mods that you put in? even stock punch and top speed is plenty for that dirt track...you can only go so fast on jumps and turns or you wipe out... it would be nice if you guys raced your brushless version on this track again a stock 104001... i bet the better driver that day would win no matter which car they drove... only top drivers can handle crazy fast cars...
Respectfully disagree; that track was HUGE and a brushless system would have really shined on those long straights and helped him clear the doubles easier. I do agree that they should race brushless vs brushed!

Hey, you are dead-on right! There are plenty of us out there that could take a much faster buggy around that track with no problem. That buggy is more for a kid or a newbie!! Even brushless it won't be that much faster!!!
Does the Gens Ace charger come with the power supply cable? This always throws me when looking at chargers is you often need an accompanying laptop charger or something.

Hey Joe and Amber. I’m in Wellington and have a 104001. I’ve been working on some cheap diy style upgrades for it to take it up to a better spec for racing. So far have a slipper clutch, light weight spur option, and sway bars fitted. Have some lighter carbon bits on their way and will be brushless converting to the same HW spec as you had in HK. Let me know if you’re interested in anything I’m up to :)
Hey Willington, very very interesting stuff, which slipper clutch did you choose? I am wondering if the one from the lc racing (LC Racing C7037 Slipper Set) for LC10B5 will fit. How did you fit your sway bars?
@@MrJFlipflop the lc10b5 stuff won’t fit easily due to the length. I used a cheap one from AliExpress which with some simple mods fits nicely. Just needs a slightly larger pinion as it’s a couple of teeth smaller and the mesh isn’t tight enough with the std pinion. Or you can enlarge the adjustment tracks in the motor mount slightly. The sway bars were for a nz-RC on road car and were pretty much a direct fit with all the hardware included.

You balance charge your LiPo to 4.2 per cell, you dont charge them, youll not only ruin your batteries by not balancing them, you lose run time every time you do a normal charge with balance.

I like the second look. It’s all about the right RC for the right person, skill level, terrain, and of course durability.
