DJI is making baby steps, before the Goggles 3 arrived, your only controller option was to fly the Air 3 with the Motion 2. And now we can use the DJI RC 2 instead of the Motion 2 or Motion 3. But as you showed in the video, flying the Air 3 without the Fly app, and in its place the Avata 2 goggle interface software makes it an entirely different experience, and not in good way. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Other video's on using Goggles 3 with the D4P completely skip pairing with a phone that has the DJI Fly app, and I was unable to get my R2 to pair with the goggles. Your instruction are spot on and I am flying!
Great review. As long as you can't control the drone with the RC2 and use the goggles as a second screen I'm sticking with the old fashioned way. Pretty annoying that you can't use all the functions and have a totally different interface
That was a good assessment. The deal breaker is not being able to use the 3 X zoom. Probably DJI may do firmware updates to bring this to the Goggles 2 and 3. I have read that you can use the zoom function in the Mavic 3 Pro in the “explore mode” and motion controller in the Mavic 3 Pro.
I use the Goggles with my Mini 4 Pro and love it. I'm a cinematographer and can easier compose my shots with a finer more immersive view and better controls with my movements. I agree, not being able to use the 3x zoom on the Air is disappointing yet maybe thats why DJI's disabled it on an FPV headset. They wouldn't want you zipping over tree lines or navigating tight spaces with a 3x view on a FPV headset. I dont know, just a wild guess.
I think it’s an amazing piece of technology. I did notice you can still zoom in with the scroll wheel just not as far. My biggest problem was the screen was never bright enough unless you had a towel over your head lol so the goggles are a welcome upgrade in that respect. Thanks for the video there’s not many out there.👍
I decided not to buy the Goggles 3 for my Air 3 today. Despite DJI saying they are fully compatible, they are not... It seems that the hurdle is likely the touch screen since you can't see where you are touching while you are in the goggles, and the UI can't be the same as the RC2 since Goggles 3 need to be compatible with several drone types. DJI really dropped the ball here!
completely disagree… its my favourite way to fly, three times zoom makes no sense for fpv, rage is amazing on air 3, camera too, the obstacle avoidance feels like you are in a F35 and you’ve just had a missile lock on you with the little red curved bars and beeps, plus you can go 75kph with the motion controller! and the motion controller feels like a joystick, i love how they locked the gimbal roll too so you feel the roll of the drone. I say well done DJI!
Surprised that you can't just use the goggles for bright sunlight second view only because the screens in their remotes are just not bright enough and for outdoor use at that price they should of used decent very bright screens with much less glare and again some rely on third party screens which is a hassle you should not have.
This review definately helped me make the decision not to purchase the Goggles 3 to use with my Air 3. I would hve been dumbfounded and very disappointed to discover that many of the great features of the Air 3 are not available to me when using the goggles. What is DJI thinking?! As far as I'm concerned this is a $500 bait and switch. Thanks for the excellent get-to-the-point review!

I just programmed one of the buttons to switch cameras. Easy peasy.
@@sam1174 Was this in Goggles 2 or 3
Agreed need to just use the headset as a monitor extension , not a controller if required would be fantastic device for photography also.

i strongly agree with you.
nice video. subbed. what's in the greenhouse?
Cruise control is disabled while using the goggles as well....
To switch cameras, use your R1 or R2 buttons on the back of the remote?
I wish that worked.
Great review. I'm subbing. Greetings from Montreal, Canada.
have the mini 4 pro and the goggles 3........not the best combo at the moment.
Could you say why? I have been thinking about buying the mini 4 pro.... thanks.

RTH cannot be executed with the goggles running. That's a potential safety issue.
Do you have dead pixels on your Goggles 3's? I'm returning a third pair and DJI insist dead pixels are normal and 6 is a low number.

Agreed
I think you may need to stop recording to switch cameras. Might give that a try. 🤷♂️
Let us know if that works.
Already tried that . No difference
Now mini 4 pro giving me notice that googles are binded and can fly 5 more times .. fix ?
Hmm, not sure?

And b able tu use ur fingers on the screen i\as a pointer in the googles
My biggest turn off is the fact I can’t do bracketing shots and vertical shots with my Mini 4 pro which is my main use of that drone. FIX THIS DJI
My goggles 2 will just have to sit in the box till DJI produces products properly not sold on the ridiculus Googles 3 .
UGH. They still haven’t fixed this. Returning my goggles 3.
