Renting or not. It's hard to live in worn down, outdated places & spaces. Sometimes it's just more relaxing to improve the space on a budget until you're able to move.

Exactly!! My place is run down . SERIOUSLY. I mean broken kitchen cabinets , raggedy bathroom. So I plan on putting in new cabinets and doing a lot of DIY all over … I’m just ready to have something better.

Great job, I always remove faucet, epoxy and then add new faucet, save you some tape, time and worry.. Keep up the good work! If you move, they will increase the price on your apartment!

I was going to say the same 👍🏾
Just some tips for anyone watching this.
1. Remember to remove all old caulking
2. With a lot sand paper. Sand very lightly your whole sink.
3. Make sure and remove any dust from sanding
4. Lay your plastic down.
5. Hold can around 8-10 inches away
I did all this then replace all the caulking, and bathroom sink still looks good 8 months later. Also don’t use any harsh cleaners to clean sink.
Good luck and don’t be afraid, just do it..
Since you took the faucet off already that's when you should have prep/sprayed the sink than install the new faucet. Gloves when using spray cans. I hope you saved all old fixtures you removed to replace when ready to move. Look nice and fresh good job lady.😊
You have given me SO much motivation to redo my whole mobile home! I kid you not my husband and I have been painting and installing upgrades for 3dys LOL! We bought a mobile home for $7000 with one of our credit cards 0% intrest for 12mths and are one pay check from paying it off YAY! So it's time to upgrade and remodel everything. I'm saving the kitchen countertops for next weekend because i stained my cabinets with java and polyurethane. We put some new light fixtures up my husband bought from goodwill and turned them into chandeliers. I put up a brick wallpaper in the bathroom, painted all ceilings white and caulked everywhere, I've painted all the doors, put in a new toilet, new flooring in 3 rooms, and new sink and facet in the main bathroom. We are putting in new windows, foam insulation, siding, new roof, and new shower tub combo in the main bath this summer. We are saving our bedroom and bath for last because It's going to be expensive plus that's our private fun space lol!😜 You have gave me the courage to make this house a home and BOY does it look good. My dad came over and saw my brick wallpaper. He said give me 3mths i want you to redo my bedroom and bathroom lol. His bedroom and bathroom are huge im going to have fun with this LOL!

I feel like not only is this a safe, reasonable, quick way to invent a brand new modern bathroom. It’s also a experience for yourself to know you can bring anything dead back to life. And when you do own a home , you will know how to value your things . Being able to do it yourself is showing that we are not lazy and I’m not rich but I promise you these hands are gifted. Build yourself up create your own world within the environment. I love it girl.

That’s something I will never understand. If my tenant wants to paint and improve “my” old worn out bathroom, I would definitely approve.. as long as they let me know their plan. I definitely don’t want them painting the walls bright purple 🤭 I understand everyone wants to live in a nice clean updated home, so if they are willing to do the work themselves, I would even agree to a discount on rent or offer to help pay for some of the improvements. But remember, it’s always a good idea to protect yourself in writing, just in case 🤷♀️

Tip: During and after put the blow dryer to the contact paper (not too close) It helps it to adhere and mold nicely onto the surface and the creases because you melt the contact paper adhesive just enough (if that makes sense) this way it won’t lift up and it will last longer in place. When ready to remove, do the same, as it melts the adhesive for easy removal 🤗

Totally agree with you on some of these homes be looking basic, no sense of interior design, style, class, elegance, or taste! i recently remodeled my rental bathroom painted the wall blue and applied ceiling tiles on the ceiling, next week ill be applying the marble vinyl floor! thanks alot for sharing!!!! Just a suggestion...try painting the sink. Let it thoroughly dry. Then install new fixture. Much easier and less time consuming.

It's also to ask your MAINTENANCE staff if they have some upgrades laying around that they're not using. Dave me time they had no issue giving me a few handles, outlet covers, towel racks. Sink fixtures
Faucets have either a 4" or 8" spread. Measure the hole side to side

Love it and you should have put the faucet on after spray painting the sink. This way you can spray evenly.

Absolutely beautiful. I do have a question, can you tell that you spray painted the sink? The reason I ask is that I live in a complex that does inspections, but I hate the fact the previous tenants left burn marks on the sink an I think it would be awesome to paint. Thank you

You did the best job I have seen covering the inset part of the cabinet top. Usually people just cover the inset piece with poster board to make it flat then cover it with contact paper. Just a question though, if you were allowed to paint the sink wouldn’t your landlord allow you to paint the cabinet as well? This looks so much better! Great job!

In the area where I live I didn't see this exactly spray in the stores. I've seen "Tile and Tub" spray (also from Rust-Oleum). I think they do pretty much the same? Don't they?

I saw someone put the contact paper on the cabinets and they used a posterboard to make it all even, like one surface; Would you after doing this do that instead of fussing with all those creases?

Looks great..what do you do as far as the line between these pop tiles and the flooring outside of the bathroom? Is there some form of trim etc for separation.

They have black matte paint. You could’ve painted the inside of the doors as well so when you open the door it wouldn’t look tacky. I love the proxy paint on the sink great idea. The new faucet is excellent. The cabinet looks great too I just thought you could’ve save time with the matte paint. And when you get a chance please paint the inside it will really make it look nice although other people don’t go in your cabinet just for you it will look great.

How long did the epoxy spray hold up with cleaning supplies and everyday water use?? I have an ugly sink but I’m renting. I was going to use peel and stick but the sink has weird grooves in it. This may be a better option. Looks nice BTw
